Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026

Restaurant reservation software takes bookings from a website, Google and social profiles and turns them into a diary, floor plan and guest list.

Pricing varies more than features: some vendors charge a flat monthly fee, others add per-cover charges or meter messages. This guide ranks eleven products on setup effort, real monthly cost, how data leaves, independence and fit.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. How that works.

In short

What restaurant reservation software does

Restaurant reservation software lets guests book tables online while staff manage the diary, floor plan, waitlist and guest records, usually with reminders, deposits and links to Google and point-of-sale systems.

How we ranked these

5 criteria, in order

In this order: setup effort, what it really costs, how your data comes back out, whether you can leave, and who each restaurant reservation tool is built for. One rule sits on top of those tests: Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Why those five, and why there is no score out of ten, is on the how we work page.

#1 Resos

Danish booking system with four volume-based plans and a free tier

Ranked #1 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingEurope

Resos is the cheapest route to a working booking page: start free, move to a paid plan once 25 bookings a month is not enough, and the plans differ only by volume. The catch is add-ons.

Payments, Google booking, the booking form fields and multi-location each add a monthly line, though each can be tried for 30 days. A 90-day money-back guarantee limits the first-quarter risk. Price the add-ons you need before comparing.

#2 Tableo

Booking system with a free tier and three feature-based paid plans

Ranked #2 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingEurope

Tableo gives a free tier of up to 100 covers a month and three paid plans, so the first ninety days can cost nothing for a small room. Paid tiers add payments, SMS and WhatsApp notices, event management and, on the largest plan, cross-selling between sites.

Support grows from email and chat to telephone. Annual billing saves 17%. Deposits cost 1% plus Stripe fees. Check which tier holds your features.

#3 Tablein

Per-restaurant monthly plans with every feature and included reservations

Ranked #3 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

Tablein's three plans contain every feature, so the choice is only how many reservations are included: 50, 150 or unlimited. That makes setup simple, but cost can surprise a venue that lands near a limit, since extra reservations are charged individually.

Pricing is per restaurant, so a group pays for each site, with discounts for longer terms or several venues. Free email and chat support and a restaurant website are included. Count monthly covers first.

#4 Eat App

Dubai-based platform with a capped free tier and metered messaging

Ranked #4 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingMiddle East

Eat App offers a free tier capped at 100 guests a month, then Lite, Core and Pro with no cap on bookings, plus an Enterprise tier for groups sharing a guest record. The 14-day trial lets a venue test the diary and waitlist first.

Paid plans differ mainly in messaging allowance, AI tools and group features: Core adds white-labelling and marketing, Pro adds a shared group database and POS integration. Costs rise with WhatsApp volume.

#5 Eveve

Table management product sold on a licence fee instead of per-diner fees

Ranked #5 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestElsewhere

Eveve pairs online booking pages with TELOS, a system installed in the restaurant that feeds live availability back to the web. Its pitch is cost: a licence fee instead of a fee per online diner, which favours restaurants with high online volume.

The evidence is thin. We could not see prices, a legal entity or a recent news item, so treat it as a product to verify by call and reference customers. Ask how data exports.

#6 CoverManager

Seville-registered platform with three quoted plans, grouped with Zenchef

Ranked #6 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

CoverManager sells three plans, Standard, Premium and Performance, and the difference is clear from the page: Standard covers call assist, live seating and a mobile app, Premium adds waitlist, no-show scoring and review replies, and Performance adds card guarantees, API access and the full marketing suite for groups.

Everything runs through a demo, so the first ninety days include sales calls. The legal notice names a Seville company. Compare its quote against Zenchef, its group sibling.

#7 TableCheck

Japan-built reservation system whose terms include a reservation fee revenue share

Ranked #7 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestAsia-Pacific

TableCheck combines a restaurant diary with a consumer app and payment tools, so a venue in Japan can take cards, deposits and no-show charges within one booking flow. Its page lists 23 languages for guests and AI-based forecasts.

Contract terms are Japanese-law terms with Tokyo courts, which matters for foreign venues, and a revenue share function exists in the terms. Ask in the demo whether any marketplace fee applies to your bookings.

#8 ResDiary

Access Group product with booking-volume plans and priced add-ons

Ranked #8 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

ResDiary's plans share core features and differ in monthly booking volume, with a Dish Cult consumer listing included for each venue. The add-on list is long: order and pay, gift vouchers, ResPhone and events cost 40 euros a month each, while SMS, group bookings, POS, PMS and CRM links cost 10.

Payment surcharges and SMS fees apply on top. A venue that wants vouchers, events and deposits should price all three before choosing it.

#9 Yelp Guest Manager

Yelp's demo-led reservation and waitlist system with no cover fees

Ranked #9 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

Yelp Guest Manager is a front-of-house system built around Yelp's audience: online reservations, waitlist, floor maps, credit card holds and two-way texting on an iPad.

Yelp says it has no cover fees and claims average savings of 163 dollars a month for switchers from OpenTable, a figure we cannot verify. The offer includes up to 60 days at zero cost. Exit and contract terms sit in the Master Services Agreement, so read that before signing.

#10 Zenchef

Paris-registered platform with Reserve, Manage and Grow plans at zero commission

Ranked #10 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

Zenchef charges a subscription rather than a fee per cover, so the more direct bookings you take, the better the deal looks. It holds guest history, takes deposits and card guarantees against no-shows, and runs the waitlist.

What it does little of is create demand: a portal sends diners and charges for them, while Zenchef's own app and Google Reserve mostly catch the ones already looking for you. New restaurants often run both for a year, then drop the expensive half.

#11 SevenRooms

DoorDash-owned platform sold on Starter, Growth and Premium quotes

Ranked #11 of 11 in Best Restaurant Reservation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

The value sits in the guest record rather than the table plan: every visit adds spend, preferences and notes, and the marketing side can target people by what they actually did. That turns bookings into a list a group can sell to.

SevenRooms is now owned by DoorDash, which adds marketplace reach through DoorDash and Deliveroo without cover fees. The cost is complexity and price, both quoted, and the European payment and support footprint is smaller than the American one, so check local integrations before signing.

How to choose restaurant reservation software

Restaurant reservation software lets guests book tables online while staff manage the diary, floor plan, waitlist and guest records, usually with reminders, deposits and links to Google and point-of-sale systems. The differences that matter are rarely in the feature list, so this is the order we would work through them.

  1. 01

Decide whether you need a published price

4 of the 11 tools here publish what they cost; the other 7 quote per organisation. The ones you can compare without a sales call: Resos, Tableo, Tablein, Eat App.

  2. 02

Decide how much the jurisdiction matters

These 11 vendors are established in 10 countries across 5 regions (Europe 6, North America 2, Asia-Pacific 1, Middle East 1, Elsewhere 1). That decides whose disclosure law applies to what the vendor holds, wherever the servers are.

Restaurant reservation software: cover fees against flat subscriptions

The first split in this market is how the vendor earns. Resos, Tablein and ResDiary state that they charge no commission on bookings, while Yelp Guest Manager says it has no cover fees and contrasts itself with a competitor that charges per network cover. A flat fee is easy to forecast, whereas a per-cover fee grows with the guests the marketplace sends you.

Some vendors also run a diner-facing marketplace in parallel, and TableCheck's terms describe a reservation fee revenue share, so the question is which bookings carry a fee. Ask for the rule in writing, covering your own website, Google, Instagram and the vendor's own app, and compare a busy month against a quiet one.

  • Ask which booking sources, if any, carry a per-cover or revenue-share fee.
  • Compare a busy month and a quiet month on the same invoice basis.
  • Get the no-commission statement into the contract, not just the web page.

Free tiers, booking caps and overage on Resos, Tableo and Tablein

Plan structure matters more than the list price. Resos splits plans by booking volume, from 25 bookings on the free tier to unlimited, and Tableo's free tier stops at 100 covers a month with paid plans split by features. Tablein puts every feature in each plan but charges for each reservation above the included 50 or 150.

Eat App caps its free tier at 100 guests a month and sets no booking cap on paid plans. A venue with 300 monthly covers could be comfortable on one structure and penalised on another. Work out your real monthly volume from the paper diary or POS, then price each vendor at that volume plus a busy-season month.

  • Count monthly bookings and covers from the last twelve months.
  • Check whether the cap counts bookings, covers or guests.
  • Find the overage charge before you land near a limit.

Add-ons decide the real bill: payments, SMS and Google booking

Headline plans leave out the modules a restaurant uses daily. On Resos, online payments, Reserve with Google and the API are separate monthly add-ons. ResDiary lists order and pay, vouchers and events at 40 euros each a month, takes a 1% surcharge on deposits and a 3% surcharge on gift vouchers, and bills SMS separately. Eat App meters WhatsApp messages inside each tier.

Tableo charges 1% plus Stripe fees on deposits. Price the full stack you need on day one: deposits to cut no-shows, text reminders, Google booking and a POS link. A cheap plan that lacks those four is not the cheapest system, because each missing piece returns as a monthly line or a per-message fee once the venue is live and busy.

  • List the four modules you need on day one and price each.
  • Ask for payment-processing fees on deposits, separate from the subscription.
  • Check whether SMS and WhatsApp are included, metered or paid per message.

Ownership and exit: who sits behind Zenchef, CoverManager and SevenRooms

Several well-known names are no longer independent. Formitable and Resengo are now Zenchef, Zenchef and CoverManager describe themselves as one group, Hospitality Tech Group, and SevenRooms calls itself a DoorDash company. Quandoo's restaurant site says it is closing down, with most services running to 30 September 2026. A product can also change direction after you sign.

Smaller independent vendors such as Resos, Tableo and Tablein have a single product to protect, though a small vendor also carries continuity risk. Whatever you pick, confirm that you can export your guest list and booking history, and that you remain the data controller. Ask who would honour your contract, price and support terms if the vendor were sold or merged into a larger platform, and request a written exit path before the first invoice is paid.

  • Ask who owns the vendor today and whether a sale would change your contract.
  • Test a guest-list export during the trial, not after signing.
  • Confirm in the terms that you remain the controller of guest data.

What goes wrong most often when buying restaurant reservation software

  • Comparing plans by list price without counting bookings, covers and the overage rule that applies at your volume.
  • Choosing a free tier and discovering that payments, Google booking or reminders are paid add-ons that cannot be used on it.
  • Joining a marketplace for new guests without checking which bookings carry a per-cover or revenue-share fee.
  • Skipping a guest-list export during the trial, then finding the data is hard to move when you leave.
