Best Lead Generation Software in 2026

Lead generation software finds the contacts, companies and website visitors that a sales team will approach.

This guide ranks twelve products on what the first ninety days cost, what the credit meter becomes once phones and teams are added, how data and unused credits leave, and whether you can buy without a salesperson.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. How that works.

In short

What lead generation software does

Lead generation software finds and verifies business contact details, builds prospect lists from databases, LinkedIn or website traffic, and passes them to a CRM or outreach tool.

How we ranked these

5 criteria, in order

In this order: setup effort, what it really costs, how your data comes back out, whether you can leave, and who each lead generation tool is built for. One rule sits on top of those tests: Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Why those five, and why there is no score out of ten, is on the how we work page.

#1 Hunter

Email finder with a lead database and cold-email sender in one login

Ranked #1 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

Hunter bills in credits: one to find an address, half a credit to verify one. The free plan has 50 credits a month; paid plans give 2,000, 10,000 or 25,000, with enterprise on request, and every plan allows unlimited team members.

Annual billing front-loads the year's credits. Hunter Web Services, Inc. lists a Wilmington, Delaware address and Delaware law governs its terms.

What stands out
  • Unlimited users
  • Credit-metered
  • Cold email built in
Where it costs you
  • Verification shares one credit pool with finding, so heavy cleaning leaves less for prospecting.
  • At a monthly allowance of 2,000 credits on the entry plan, only 4,000 addresses can be verified.
Right for

Teams that find and verify prospect addresses in one place.

Wrong for

Anyone cleaning large existing marketing lists in one pass.

United StatesFree plan; Starter to Scale tiers published, credits reset monthly

#2 Skrapp

LinkedIn and Sales Navigator email finder charging only for deliverable addresses

Ranked #2 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingAsia-Pacific

Skrapp answers the first-ninety-days question simply: start on the free plan with fifty credits, then move to a monthly plan when the lists justify it. The vendor charges only for addresses marked Valid or Catch-all and lets credits roll over, which cuts waste.

The plan table lists Professional and Enterprise, with the API and SSO on the higher tier. Check that your volume fits the credit steps before committing.

What stands out
  • LinkedIn extension
  • Credits roll over
  • Month-to-month
Where it costs you
  • No phone numbers are listed in the plan table
  • List exports and CRM sync are listed under the paid Professional tier
Right for

Small teams building email lists from LinkedIn on a tight, flexible budget

Wrong for

Teams that need mobile numbers or a full database

SingaporeFree plan; Professional and Enterprise tiers published by credit volume

#3 Dropcontact

French email finder that builds addresses by algorithm, not from a database

Ranked #3 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

Dropcontact enriches data you already hold: upload a file, connect a CRM or call the API, and it returns verified emails plus job classification and company data on the Growth tier.

The vendor says it uses no contact databases and processes on EU servers. Plans scale by monthly credits, and monthly billing lets you subscribe, process one file and cancel. The weakness is that discovery of new prospects must come from elsewhere.

What stands out
  • GDPR by design
  • Algorithmic
  • CRM enrichment
Where it costs you
  • It finds email addresses but offers no prospect search for building lists
  • Email Finder credits cannot be used to enrich a CRM
Right for

European teams enriching existing lists or CRMs who care about GDPR processing

Wrong for

Teams starting with no names and needing a searchable database

FranceMonthly or yearly credit tiers published; 50 free credits to try

#4 Snov.io

Prospect finder, verifier and outreach sequencer sold as one suite

Ranked #4 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Published pricingNorth America

Snov.io is the widest suite on this list. A renewing trial plan gives fifty credits and one warm-up slot, so you can test finding, verifying and sending before paying. Paid plans include unlimited team seats and a sales CRM.

The cost comes from the meters: a bigger list needs more credits, a bigger send needs more recipients, and enrichment operations draw on tokens. Model all three before choosing a tier.

What stands out
  • All-in-one
  • Credits and recipients
  • LinkedIn add-on
Where it costs you
  • Credits, recipients and enrichment tokens are three separate meters
  • LinkedIn automation slots are bought separately per slot
Right for

Small outbound teams wanting finder, verifier and sequencer under one subscription

Wrong for

Buyers who only want to look up emails occasionally

United StatesTrial plan renews monthly; Starter to Ultra tiers published

#5 Wiza

Sales Navigator list exporter that returns validated emails and mobile numbers

Ranked #5 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

Wiza's plan names tell you what you get: Email, or Email plus Phone, each billed per user. The annual route removes the credit cap on reveals but limits exports to 2,500 per month.

The monthly Starter plan allows 100 valid emails, which is little for a campaign list. Phone numbers beyond the allowance are charged individually. Three or more users are directed to a custom team plan, so a small agency should price that early.

What stands out
  • Sales Navigator export
  • Per-user pricing
  • Email or email plus phone
Where it costs you
  • Pricing is per user, so each added seller needs a full seat
  • Phone numbers are metered beyond the plan allowance
Right for

Sellers who already live in LinkedIn Sales Navigator and export lists daily

Wrong for

Teams of many users who want one pooled credit allowance

United StatesFree plan; per-user monthly and annual tiers published

#6 UpLead

Searchable B2B database with one credit per contact and a 7-day trial

Ranked #6 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Published pricingNorth America

UpLead is a classic database model: search by filters, spend a credit to reveal a contact, export to CSV or a CRM. The seven-day trial gives only five credits, enough to test a handful of records. Monthly plans have no contract.

The Plus tier adds data enrichment, technographics and advanced filters, while the Professional tier is annual and quoted. Count the credits you need per month, because allowances on entry plans are modest.

What stands out
  • Per-contact credit
  • Technographics
  • CRM sync
Where it costs you
  • Email and mobile are bundled into a single credit with no cheaper email-only option
  • Buyer intent, full API and two-way CRM sync need the annual Professional tier
Right for

Teams buying verified contacts one at a time from a searchable database

Wrong for

Buyers who need thousands of contacts on a small monthly plan

United States7-day trial; monthly and annual tiers published; top tier by quote

#7 LeadIQ

Chrome-extension prospecting for SDRs, with job-change tracking and CRM capture

Ranked #7 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

LeadIQ is built for the rep with a browser open on a prospect. The free plan gives one user and fifty credits, and paid plans are sized by a credit slider with annual billing saving a quarter.

Because a phone number costs ten credits and an email plus phone eleven, the allowance suits email-led work. Signals, CRM enrichment and governance controls appear in the plan comparison, so check which tier holds the one you need.

What stands out
  • SDR workflow
  • Credit weights
  • Job-change alerts
Where it costs you
  • Phone numbers cost ten credits against one for an email
  • Database search is limited on the free and lower tiers
Right for

SDR teams prospecting from the browser and pushing contacts into a CRM

Wrong for

Buyers wanting phone numbers in bulk at low cost

United StatesFree plan; credit-based monthly tiers published, annual saving

#8 Kaspr

LinkedIn extension with unlimited B2B emails and capped phone credits

Ranked #8 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingElsewhere

Paid plans give unlimited B2B email credits, so the cap that matters is on phone numbers and direct emails, sold as monthly allowances and add-on packs. Exports are limited per year on the lower tiers.

Pricing is per user, and API access is available only on request. The registered company is KASPR SAS in Paris, and the free plan is small at fifteen email credits.

What stands out
  • Per-user pricing
  • Phone credits capped
  • Chrome extension
France (product HQ); part of Cognism Group, UKFree plan; per user per month tiers published, extra credits sold in packs

#9 Lusha

Contact reveal tool weighting email at one credit, phone at five

Ranked #9 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingElsewhere

The free plan allows up to forty credits per month, enough to judge data quality on a few dozen contacts. A revealed email costs one credit and a phone number five.

Unused credits on monthly plans roll over up to twice the plan limit, while annual credits reset at the end of the year. Per-user credit limits belong to the Scale plans, so team governance costs more.

What stands out
  • Credit-weighted
  • Browser extension
  • CRM integrations
United States / Israel (dual entity)Free plan with monthly credits; paid tiers by credit volume

#10 Apollo.io

Contact database and outreach platform where credits run out every cycle

Ranked #10 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

A contact database combined with sequencing, a dialer and pipeline tools, which is more than a pure lead finder needs.

Credits are pooled across the team and granted upfront, but they expire at the end of each billing cycle, including purchased add-ons. All seats on an account must sit on one plan level. Annual billing is a twelve-month commitment.

What stands out
  • Database plus sequencing
  • Pooled credits
  • Same plan for all seats
United StatesFree plan; Basic, Professional and Custom tiers with credits; trial offered

#11 Lead Forensics

Identifies companies visiting your website and adds decision-maker contacts

Ranked #11 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

Lead Forensics is the outlier: it supplies no searchable list, only the businesses that browse your own pages, with firmographics and decision-maker contacts attached.

The vendor describes a tracking script similar to an analytics tag and screens contacts against TPS and CTPS. The plans, called Essentials and Automate, are quoted after a demo and one-week trial. Low traffic means little to follow up, and the price tracks traffic.

What stands out
  • Visitor identification
  • Unlimited users
  • Traffic-based
Where it costs you
  • Pricing is set by your website traffic and given only after a trial
  • It reveals who visited your site, not new prospects who have not
Right for

B2B firms with steady website traffic that want to follow up visiting companies

Wrong for

Start-ups with little traffic or teams prospecting cold lists

United KingdomQuoted by website traffic; one-week trial

#12 ZoomInfo

Enterprise B2B database with intent signals, sold through a sales conversation

Ranked #12 of 12 in Best Lead Generation Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

The pricing page shows plan names and feature lists but no prices; you submit a form to get a quote. Higher tiers add buyer intent, website visitors and workflow automation, which a small team will not use.

The company is publicly listed and headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. Expect a sales process before you can compare the cost against Hunter or Skrapp.

What stands out
  • Quoted pricing
  • Intent data
  • Large database

How to choose lead generation software

Lead generation software finds and verifies business contact details, builds prospect lists from databases, LinkedIn or website traffic, and passes them to a CRM or outreach tool. The differences that matter are rarely in the feature list, so this is the order we would work through them.

  1. 01

Decide whether you need a published price

10 of the 12 tools here publish what they cost; the other 2 quote per organisation. The ones you can compare without a sales call: Hunter, Skrapp, Dropcontact, Snov.io, Wiza, UpLead, LeadIQ, Kaspr, Lusha, Apollo.io.

  2. 02

Decide how much the jurisdiction matters

These 12 vendors are established in 6 countries across 4 regions (North America 7, Europe 2, Elsewhere 2, Asia-Pacific 1). That decides whose disclosure law applies to what the vendor holds, wherever the servers are.

Credits are the meter: what one contact really costs

Almost every vendor here sells credits, and the same word means different things. Hunter charges one credit for an email found and half a credit for a verification. LeadIQ weights an email at one, a phone number at ten and account enrichment at three. Lusha asks one credit for an email and five for a phone. UpLead takes one credit per contact, email and mobile together.

Skrapp spends a credit only when the result is Valid or Catch-all. A cheap headline allowance can therefore cover very different numbers of contacts. Convert each plan into the cost of one contact you would actually use before comparing, and keep the monthly reset in mind, because an allowance that looks generous on paper shrinks quickly once phones are included.

  • Write down how many contacts per month you will contact, not search.
  • Ask what a phone number costs in credits compared with an email.
  • Check whether a failed or invalid lookup still spends a credit.

Finder, database or visitor tracker: three different jobs

Lead generation covers products that do unlike things. Dropcontact enriches data you already hold and says it uses no contact database. Skrapp and Hunter find an address from a name and company. UpLead and ZoomInfo sell a searchable database. Lead Forensics identifies the companies that visit your website.

Buying a database when you need enrichment wastes money, and buying a visitor tracker when you have no traffic returns nothing. Decide first whether you start from a name, from a target account list or from your own web traffic. The answer removes half of the shortlist before any price is compared, and it also tells you how many records you must clean, which decides whether a per-contact credit or a flat monthly quota is cheaper.

  • Decide whether you start from names, accounts or website visitors.
  • Test each product on twenty contacts you already know are valid.
  • Confirm the tool covers the countries you sell into.

Seats against pools: how teams change the invoice

Pricing models split on who pays. Wiza and Kaspr charge per user per month, so each added seller multiplies the bill. Hunter and Snov.io include unlimited users and share one credit pool. Apollo.io pools credits but requires every seat on one plan level. Lusha limits credit use per user only on its Scale plans.

A solo founder and a ten-person SDR team will rank these tools differently. Ask for the cost at your real headcount, then add the extras that a team normally needs: shared lists, usage reports, admin permissions and a CRM sync, since these are the lines that usually move a team from the entry tier to the next one.

  • Price the plan at your real headcount, not at one seat.
  • List the team features you need and the tier that holds them.
  • Ask whether credits are shared or tied to each user.

Unused credits and exit: what you keep when you leave

Credit expiry is where vendors differ most. Hunter resets monthly credits without rollover. Apollo.io expires unused credits, add-ons included, at the end of each cycle. Skrapp lets credits roll over and keep them after cancelling. Dropcontact offers credit carryover on its Growth tier. Lusha rolls monthly credits over up to twice the plan limit.

Export matters just as much: Kaspr limits exports per year on lower tiers, and Wiza's annual plans cap exports at 2,500 a month. Before signing, ask how many contacts you can take away and whether saved lists remain after cancelling. A tool that is cheap to join but caps exports can quietly lock a list inside the vendor's account.

  • Ask whether credits expire, roll over or survive cancellation.
  • Check any export cap per month or per year.
  • Confirm you can cancel without a minimum term on the tier you want.

What goes wrong most often when buying lead generation software

  • Comparing allowances in credits without converting them into the cost of one usable contact.
  • Buying a database such as UpLead or ZoomInfo when the task is only to clean emails in a CRM.
  • Choosing a per-user plan such as Wiza for a team that would be cheaper on a shared pool.
  • Trusting the entry price while phone numbers, extra mailboxes and LinkedIn slots are billed separately.
