Best AI Website Builders in 2026

AI website builders turn a short description into a working site, but the invoice depends on how each vendor meters the AI.

This guide ranks twelve products on first-ninety-day effort, what usage, domains and renewals add, whether the site or code can leave, and whether you can run it without a partner.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. How that works.

In short

What AI website builders do

An AI website builder generates pages, copy and images from a written prompt, then hosts the result or exports it, and lets you refine the site by chat or by hand.

How we ranked these

5 criteria, in order

In this order: setup effort, what it really costs, how your data comes back out, whether you can leave, and who each AI website builder is built for. One rule sits on top of those tests: Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Why those five, and why there is no score out of ten, is on the how we work page.

#1 Framer

Design-first site builder with credit-metered AI agents and fixed plans

Ranked #1 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

Framer is what happens when a design tool learns to publish: you work in something close to Figma and the output scores well on Core Web Vitals without tuning.

For a marketing site that has to look considered and load fast, it is the shortest path there. The CMS is real but young — good enough for a blog and a case-study collection, less comfortable with deep taxonomies or complex multi-language structures.

#2 Dorik

No-code builder that generates a site from one sentence and exports code

Ranked #2 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Published pricingElsewhere

Dorik generates a whole site from a short description and then opens it in a no-code editor with AI text, images and quick styling. All plan cards list code export, white-label dashboard and client billing, which suits freelancers building for clients.

Plans are priced by term: monthly, one-year and two-year, and a one-time lifetime option exists for one site. Business raises custom domains to three and removes the page limit.

What stands out

#3 Base44

Prompt-driven builder for apps and websites, run by Wix.com Ltd.

Ranked #3 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingMiddle East

Base44 sits with the prompt tools rather than the template builders: you describe what you want and it generates the structure, design and logic, with authentication, a database and hosting included. The vendor's pricing page states you own the code, data and users, and that two-way GitHub sync exports the full source at any time, which is a clearer exit statement than most template builders publish.

Paid plans run from Starter at $16 a month on annual billing to Elite at $160, and each tier is defined by its message credits and integration credits, so the plan price is only the allowance. You can cancel at any time and the apps stay live on the free plan.

What stands out

#4 Durable

Prompt-to-business-site tool with built-in CRM and AI agents for owners

Ranked #4 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

Durable is built for owners who would rather describe a business than design pages. Every plan includes hosting, SEO tooling and unlimited traffic, and the built-in CRM and booking remove the need for separate tools early on.

The ceilings are credits and the first step: the free plan shows a private preview, Launch gives 1000 AI credits a month, and Grow raises it to 5000 and adds unlimited team members and translation.

#5 Lovable

Chat-based builder that writes real web apps and websites for you

Ranked #5 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Free tierPricing on requestEurope

Lovable is closer to a code-writing assistant than a website builder. You chat, it builds a site or app, and the vendor states you own the code and content you create.

A small edit can cost half a credit while a landing page with images cost 1.7 in its own examples. Workspaces have unlimited members, so cost depends on usage rather than seats. The free plan grants five build credits a day, up to 30 a month.

What stands out
  • Swedish company
  • Credit-based
  • Apps and sites

  • Credits vary per message, so the monthly cost cannot be fixed in advance
  • Unused monthly credits expire after two months and are not refundable

#6 Webflow

Visual site builder with AI prompting and tiered plans for CMS sites

Ranked #6 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Published pricingNorth America

Webflow hands a designer the full box model in a visual editor, which is why agencies build client sites in it and why non-designers struggle. Everything you can do in CSS you can do here, including proper responsive control and clean semantic output.

The learning curve is genuine, and the pricing is two-sided: a site plan per site plus workspace seats per person, which adds up faster than the marketing page suggests. Code export needs a paid Workspace plan, and CMS content leaves collection by collection.

What stands out
  • Visual design
  • CMS plans
  • AI prompt

#7 10Web

AI builder that outputs managed WordPress sites with hosting included

Ranked #7 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Published pricingNorth America

10Web generates a site on WordPress, which means plugins, themes and hosting migration are standard rather than proprietary. Managed hosting, SSL, daily backups and SFTP or SSH access are included.

The pricing is per website and tied to visit and storage allowances: the entry plan allows one site, 10K visits and 10GB storage. Agency plans add white-label dashboards and a 7% billing transaction fee on one tier.

What stands out
  • WordPress output
  • Hosting included
  • Per-site pricing
Where it costs you
  • Plans cover few sites and 10K to 120K monthly visits, so growth means a higher tier
  • The lowest monthly figure assumes a 12-month commitment

#8 Hostinger Website Builder

Budget builder bundled with hosting, a domain and AI credits

Ranked #8 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

The entry price is among the lowest here and the builder is competent for a brochure site, with hosting included and a domain free for the first year.

The model that makes that possible is the term: the $2.99 a month figure applies to 48 months paid upfront, and the listed renewal rate is $10.99 a month, several times the first. Go in knowing the four-year total and the renewal rate, not the monthly figure on the pricing page.

What stands out
  • Lithuanian company
  • Term pricing
  • Hosting bundled
Where it costs you
  • Renewal pricing is far above the first term
  • Ceilings arrive fast beyond a brochure site

#9 Squarespace

Template-led builder with AI tools built in and a 14-day trial

Ranked #9 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Published pricingNorth America

It is difficult to make a bad-looking site in Squarespace, and for most small businesses that is worth more than flexibility. Hosting, templates and basic ecommerce are included on every plan, a domain is free for the first year on annual billing, and there is a 14-day trial but nothing free after it.

The cost is the box: custom CSS and JavaScript only from the Core plan, and an export that leaves store, portfolio and style settings behind. Fine for a site built once.

What stands out
  • Templates
  • Trial only
  • AI tools

  • Limited structural control
  • Export leaves shop, portfolio and styling behind

#10 Wix

Prompt-based builder with an in-editor AI agent and a free plan

Ranked #10 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingMiddle East

Wix will do almost anything you ask it to, which is both the appeal and the problem. The drag-and-drop freedom that makes the first page quick makes the twentieth page inconsistent, and performance degrades as the site accumulates apps and sections.

There is no meaningful export, so leaving means rebuilding. For a small business site built once and maintained lightly it is a reasonable choice.

What stands out
  • Israeli company
  • AI agent
  • Free plan
Where it costs you
  • Performance and structure suffer as the site grows
  • There is no way out but a rebuild
Right for

A small business site built once and left alone

#11 Bolt.new

Token-metered prompt builder for sites and apps with built-in hosting

Ranked #11 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

Bolt targets people who want an app or site in an afternoon. Hosting and unlimited databases are included, and the paid plans remove Bolt branding and add a custom domain.

Cost follows tokens, and the vendor explains most usage comes from syncing the project file system to the AI, so a growing project makes every message dearer. Pro starts at 10M tokens a month; Teams is priced per member, with tokens not shared between members.

What stands out
  • US company
  • Token-metered
  • Apps and sites
Where it costs you
  • The free plan has a 300K daily and 1M monthly token limit
  • Larger projects use more tokens per message, which the vendor confirms

#12 v0

Vercel's chat tool for generating interfaces, priced by usage credits

Ranked #12 of 12 in Best AI Website Builders in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

v0 is a chat interface for building interfaces, with Design Mode for visual edits, GitHub sync and deployment to Vercel. It is a developer tool before it is a site builder.

Plus gives each user included monthly credits plus daily free credits on login, shared top-ups across the team and centralised billing. Four model tiers carry published token rates, from a low-cost mini model to a max model, so spend depends on which one you choose.

What stands out
  • Vercel product
  • Per-user credits
  • Developer-led
Where it costs you
  • The free plan allows 7 messages a day
  • Beyond included credits, usage is billed at per-million-token model rates

How to choose AI website builders

An AI website builder generates pages, copy and images from a written prompt, then hosts the result or exports it, and lets you refine the site by chat or by hand. The differences that matter are rarely in the feature list, so this is the order we would work through them.

  1. 01

Decide whether you need a published price

11 of the 12 tools here publish what they cost; the other 1 quote per organisation. The ones you can compare without a sales call: Framer, Dorik, Base44, Durable, Webflow, 10Web, Hostinger Website Builder, Squarespace, Wix, Bolt.new, v0.

  2. 02

Decide how much the jurisdiction matters

These 12 vendors are established in 7 countries across 4 regions (North America 6, Europe 3, Middle East 2, Elsewhere 1). That decides whose disclosure law applies to what the vendor holds, wherever the servers are.

Credits, tokens and messages: what the AI meter really charges

The headline plan price in this market is only the seat fee for an AI meter that differs by vendor. Lovable charges credits per message that vary with complexity, and unused monthly credits expire. Bolt.new meters tokens and says bigger projects use more per message. Framer gives each plan a monthly credit pool for agents.

Base44 gives 25 message credits a month on its free plan. Durable sets 300 credits on the free plan, 1000 on Launch and 5000 on Grow. v0 adds published per-million-token model rates on top of included credits. Two sites with the same price therefore cost differently once you iterate, so ask how many edits a normal month needs before choosing.

  • Count how many prompts a typical month of edits takes and price them in each vendor's unit.
  • Check whether unused credits roll over or expire.
  • Ask what happens at the limit: a block, a top-up or an overage rate.

Prompt tools and site builders are different products

Lovable, Bolt.new, Base44 and v0 produce apps and interfaces, and the vendors describe them that way: Lovable calls itself an AI software engineer, v0 deploys to Vercel and syncs with GitHub, and Bolt includes databases. Wix, Squarespace and Hostinger Website Builder start from a prompt but finish in a template editor with hosting, domain and mailboxes attached.

Webflow and Framer sit between, giving a design canvas after the prompt. Choosing the wrong class is the commonest expensive error: a shop owner with a prompt tool gets code to maintain, and a developer with a template builder meets page and bandwidth caps.

  • Decide whether you want a site you edit by clicking or an app you extend by prompting.
  • List which of hosting, domain, mailbox and CRM you want bundled.
  • Check page, CMS and bandwidth limits in the tier you plan to use.

Exit: what leaves when you cancel

Portability varies more than anything else here. 10Web outputs full WordPress with SFTP and SSH access. Dorik lists code export on its plan cards. Base44 states you own your code and exports it via GitHub sync. Lovable states you own your code, apps and content, and v0 syncs with GitHub.

Several template builders publish no export route on their pricing pages, so a site built there stays on their platform. Hostinger Website Builder and Wix sit in this group on what their pages show. Plan cancellation also matters: Lovable credits are not refundable, and Base44 exports its full source through two-way GitHub sync. Read the exit terms before the first prompt, not after the site has traffic.

  • Ask whether you can download the site files, not just a backup.
  • Check refund and cancellation terms for the term you pick.
  • Confirm the domain is registered in your own name.

Renewal, branding and the second-year bill

First-term prices mislead in this market. Hostinger Website Builder states a low price for a 48-month term and a much higher renewal rate. Wix and Squarespace give a free domain for the first year on annual plans only.

Bolt.new keeps its branding on free-plan sites and reserves the custom domain for Pro, and Durable's free plan only shows a private preview. Squarespace's cheapest tier adds a 2% fee on store sales. The comparison that matters is year two with a custom domain, branding removed and the number of sites you actually run.

  • Write down the renewal price, not the first-term price.
  • Check whether a custom domain and branding removal are in your tier.
  • Add transaction fees to the plan price if you sell online.

What goes wrong most often when buying AI website builders

  • Judging by the prompt demo: every vendor shows a clean first page, and none shows the fifteenth round of edits that drains credits.
  • Buying a prompt-based app builder for a brochure site, then inheriting code and hosting duties nobody on the team can maintain.
  • Taking the first-term price as the yearly cost: Hostinger, Wix and Squarespace all tie their best prices to long or annual terms.
  • Ignoring exit until launch: some vendors state code ownership or export, others publish nothing about it, so check before building.

Frequently asked questions

6 answers
What are the best AI website builders in 2026?

Framer leads our ranking of 12. A single-product company incorporated in the Netherlands, which keeps the contract simple: one site, one plan, prices on the page. A prompt gives you a first layout that you then edit on a design canvas.

The catch is the meter. Agents and other AI features consume credits that differ per plan, and pages, CMS items and bandwidth have fixed ceilings, so a busy site climbs a tier.

Which AI website builders publish their pricing?

11 of the 12, with the pricing model each one publishes:

  • Dorik: Published plans billed by term; 7-day trial; lifetime option for one site.
  • Base44: Free plan; paid plans from $16 a month billed annually, with monthly message credits.
  • Durable: Published monthly and yearly plans; free plan with a site preview.

  • Wix: Published plans with a free plan; annual billing discounts.
  • Bolt.new: Published token plans; free plan with daily limit; per-member Teams.
