Hunter alternatives: 11 lead generation tools compared

Teams look for a Hunter alternative when credits stop covering their volume, when they need phone numbers or LinkedIn lists rather than domain searches, or when they want the lookup and the sending tool bought from one supplier. Others want a vendor that states where processing happens. Options range from small European finders to full outreach platforms.

Short answer: Looking for a replacement for Hunter? Dropcontact, Skrapp and Evaboot come first in our lead generation software ranking. We open the ranking with smaller vendors and put the established brands from fourth place onward. Start with Dropcontact if your legal team wants EU processing and a vendor that holds no contact database. Below are 11 alternatives, each taken from the Best Lead Generation Software in 2026 ranking, with its main difference from Hunter.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Hunter

#1 of 15 in our lead generation software ranking

  • Built for: Teams that find and verify prospect addresses in one place.
  • Not for: Anyone cleaning large existing marketing lists in one pass.
01

Why buyers look past Hunter

  1. 01

    Credits reset every month

Hunter's paid plans grant 2,000, 10,000 or 25,000 credits a month on Starter, Growth and Scale, and monthly credits reset and do not roll over. Yearly billing releases the whole year's credits upfront. A team with uneven prospecting weeks can lose allowance it paid for.

  2. 02

    Sending capacity is priced apart

The plan tiers include 3, 10 and 20 email accounts, and further accounts are add-ons from 10 euros a month each. Custom domains and Inbox Protection are also add-ons. Costs for a busy outbound programme therefore sit partly outside the headline plan price.

  3. 03

Phone and LinkedIn data are not the focus

The API documentation lists phone and LinkedIn fields in responses but states no coverage rates, and its sample responses show them empty. Hunter's core is the email address for a domain or a named person. Teams that call prospects, or work from LinkedIn searches, usually add a second tool.

United States · Published

Wiza exports LinkedIn searches into lists with validated contact data. Plans are per user and split into email-only and email-plus-phone, with phone numbers metered beyond the allowance. LeadIQ

United States · Published

LeadIQ is a browser extension for reps who prospect on a profile and push the contact into a CRM. Credits are weighted: an email costs one, a phone number ten, an email plus phone eleven. Which alternative for which situation

  1. 01

You want to pay only for addresses that come back usable

Skrapp: Credits are spent only on Valid or Catch-all results, and unused credits roll over on paid plans.

  2. 02

You need EU processing you can describe to a compliance team

Dropcontact: Its pricing page says processing runs on EU-based servers with its own algorithms, with a miss re-credited.

  3. 03

You already pay for Sales Navigator

Evaboot: Exports start at 9 dollars a month for 100 credits, with unlimited seats; phone numbers are not included.

  4. 04

You want finding, warm-up and sending under one login

Snov.io: Starter lists 1,000 credits and 5,000 recipients for 39 dollars a month, with unlimited seats.

  5. 05

You need lookups written into Salesforce or HubSpot

Surfe: Emails and mobile numbers come from several providers, and the CRM connector is included on Essential and Pro.

04

When Hunter is still the right choice

Hunter remains a sound choice when the job is finding and verifying email addresses by domain or name. Every plan has unlimited users sharing one credit pool, a search that finds nothing costs nothing, and a verification costs half a credit. The free plan with 50 credits is enough to test a list. The API is documented with published rate limits, and services run in Belgium on Google Cloud.

05

What moving off Hunter involves

  1. 01

Saved leads and lists need exporting first

Hunter keeps saved leads, up to 100,000 on the free plan and millions on paid tiers. Export them to CSV before cancelling, and check whether the new tool accepts the same fields. Verification statuses may not carry over and may need to be re-run.

  2. 02

    Re-verify before the first campaign

Each vendor classes addresses as valid, accept-all or unknown by its own rules. Run a sample of your existing list through the new verifier and compare bounce rates before moving the full list. Sequences built in Hunter's sender also have to be rebuilt by hand.

  3. 03

    Plan the credit switch

Since monthly credits do not roll over, time the cancellation after you spend them. Yearly plans give all credits upfront, so check what remains before the renewal date.
