Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026

Shipping software sits between an online shop and its carriers: it imports orders, compares rates, prints labels, sends tracking to the buyer and handles returns.

This guide ranks fourteen products on setup time, the real monthly price once allowances and add-ons count, whether shipment data leaves with you, and how far each ties you to one carrier or one owner.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. How that works.

In short

What shipping software does

Ecommerce shipping software connects a shop or marketplace to carriers, imports orders, compares rates, prints labels and customs documents, sends tracking numbers to buyers and manages returns.

How we ranked these

5 criteria, in order

In this order: setup effort, what it really costs, how your data comes back out, whether you can leave, and who each shipping tool is built for. One rule sits on top of those tests: Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Why those five, and why there is no score out of ten, is on the how we work page.

#1 Shipmondo

Nordic shipping platform covering parcels, freight and returns

Ranked #1 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingEurope

Shipmondo publishes three plans: free with one order integration and 12-hour email response, Essentials with up to three integrations and two own carrier agreements, and Pro with both unlimited.

Label fees on own agreements fall with volume, from a few cents to a few more. The site names 50+ carriers and 100+ integrations. The weak spot is the activation fee per customer number, whose amount varies by carrier, so ask for the table before signing.

What stands out
  • Nordic carriers
  • Own agreements
  • Small team
Where it costs you
  • The free plan allows one order integration and does not include own carrier agreements.
  • Own carrier agreements carry a per-label fee and a one-off fee per customer number, so the real cost depends on how many contracts you bring.
  • A team of 30+ people is a thin base if the vendor is acquired or stops.
Right for

A Nordic webshop that ships on its own GLS, PostNord or DSV contracts

Wrong for

A seller who needs a long list of non-European carriers

DenmarkFree plan and two monthly plans published, plus a per-label fee on own carrier agreements

#2 Shiptheory

Shipping automation between your sales channels and your own carrier accounts

Ranked #2 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

Shiptheory is middleware: it takes orders from channels such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, Amazon and NetSuite, applies your rules and books your own carrier accounts.

Tiers run Earth, Saturn, Jupiter and Cosmos, each with a monthly shipment cap and a per-shipment charge, and every integration is available on every plan. The vendor claims a six-minute average response. Since it sells no postage, compare the subscription against a rate-reselling tool before choosing.

What stands out
  • UK carriers
  • Middleware
  • Onboarding included
Where it costs you
  • It does not sell discounted carrier rates, so you need your own carrier contracts.
  • The entry tier is limited to one user, one sales channel and two carriers.
  • Branded tracking pages and returns portals are not what the site leads with.
Right for

A UK or Irish retailer with carrier contracts who wants labels automated

Wrong for

A seller without carrier contracts who wants discounted postage

United KingdomFive tiers by monthly shipment cap, billed annually, plus a small per-shipment charge

#3 MyParcel

Dutch shipping platform with no subscription and published carrier tariffs

Ranked #3 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

MyParcel treats the tariff table as the price list. A shop without its own contract ships on rates quoted per yearly volume band, for example a DHL parcel at EUR 5.95 excluding VAT at 1,000 to 2,499 shipments a year.

Add-ons such as MyContracts, MyReturns and MyOrders start at a few euros a month. Support runs six days a week including phone. Check the add-on terms before you commit, because modules are billed separately.

What stands out
  • Dutch carriers
  • Published tariffs
  • Returns portal
Where it costs you
  • Shipping on your own carrier contract needs the paid MyContracts add-on.
  • The standard tariff page covers four carriers.
  • The site, support hours and tariff pages are in Dutch first.
Right for

A Dutch webshop that wants published tariffs and no monthly software fee

Wrong for

A seller whose parcels mostly leave the Benelux region

NetherlandsNo subscription for the platform, carrier tariffs by yearly volume, paid add-on modules

#4 Sendcloud

European multi-carrier shipping with branded tracking and returns

Ranked #4 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingEurope

Sendcloud sells shipping to webshops across Europe: one dashboard, bulk labels, your own carrier contract from Lite, and customer-facing layers on top. The published ladder runs Free, Lite, Growth, Premium and Pro, each with a label allowance per year and a per-label fee.

Growth adds the branded tracking page and return portal. Overage after the monthly allowance is charged per label, so a seasonal peak needs a forecast before choosing a tier.

What stands out
  • European carriers
  • Returns portal
  • Branded tracking
Where it costs you
  • The free plan stops at 20 parcels a month and one user.
  • Branded tracking and the returns portal need Growth or higher.
  • Dynamic delivery options at checkout sit on the highest published tier.
Right for

A growing webshop selling across Europe that wants tracking and returns pages

Wrong for

A seller whose parcels mostly go outside Europe

NetherlandsFree plan, four published monthly tiers with annual label allowances, plus a per-label fee

#5 ShippyPro

Multi-carrier shipping with returns, invoice analysis and ERP connectors

Ranked #5 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

ShippyPro centralises labels, tracking and returns, and adds invoice analysis to spot discrepancies in carrier billing. It names 190+ carriers and 81+ sales channels, with SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics among its connectors.

Pro2000 costs less in the first year than at renewal, so plan on the renewal price. The inconsistent carrier-limit wording on the pricing page is worth clarifying in writing before purchase.

What stands out
  • 190+ carriers
  • Invoice analysis
  • ISO 27001
Where it costs you
  • The first-year promotion renews at the full rate, which is the figure to budget.
  • The pricing page states the carrier integration limit as both 5 and 10.
  • There is no permanent free plan, only a 14-day trial.
Right for

A European merchant with many carriers that must pass security reviews

Wrong for

A very small shop that wants a free plan

ItalyThree tiers by monthly shipments on annual billing, first-year promotion, custom Enterprise

#6 Wuunder

Shipping, checkout, tracking and returns sold as separate modules

Ranked #6 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

Wuunder prices by yearly shipments: Essential up to 7,500, Growth up to 30,000 and Scale up to 120,000, each with a per-label fee that falls slightly by tier. Growth and Scale add carriers, users, warehouses and webshops.

Scale adds a parcel shop locator, expected delivery date, nominated day delivery and branded checkout. Offices are in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Check which modules carry extra label charges before comparing totals.

What stands out
  • Checkout
  • Plan caps
  • Own contracts
Where it costs you
  • Essential allows two carriers, one user and five automated rules.
  • Nominated day delivery and branded checkout need the Scale plan.
  • The pricing page mentions no free plan or trial.
Right for

A Benelux or German brand that wants checkout and labels from one vendor

Wrong for

A very small shop that wants a free tier

NetherlandsThree plans with yearly label caps and a per-label fee, 20% off yearly, Enterprise on request

#7 Sendify

Parcel, pallet and container booking on shared carrier rates

Ranked #7 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingEurope

Sendify fits a company that ships a few times a week and wants shared rates without a contract. Plus adds up to 20% additional discount, two own carrier agreements and shipping rules.

Insurance is sold as Sendify Secure with a maximum premium of 1% of goods value. Integrations include Fortnox, Shopify, WooCommerce and Visma. Check the own-agreement label fee table, which the page lays out ambiguously.

What stands out
  • Pallets and parcels
  • Pay by invoice
  • Sweden
Where it costs you
  • Only five carriers are named in the FAQ.
  • Own carrier agreements cost a per-label fee and extra agreements 500 SEK each.
  • Prices are in Swedish kronor and the site is Swedish first.
Right for

A Swedish small business that books parcels and pallets by invoice

Wrong for

A webshop needing checkout, branded tracking or returns

SwedenFree plan, monthly plan billed yearly, Pro on request, per-label fee on own carrier agreements

#9 Shippingbo

Order, warehouse and transport management for online merchants

Ranked #9 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

Shippingbo imports orders, routes them to the right tools, sets up warehouse zones and picking sessions, and selects the carrier and prints the label. Data exchange runs over CSV, API and FTP.

The packs differ in included users, from one on Starter+ to five on Expert+. A merchant who only ships a few parcels will carry modules they never use, so test whether Starter+ covers the real workflow.

What stands out
  • Warehouse
  • Order management
  • French
Where it costs you
  • The warehouse focus means a label-only seller pays in setup for unused modules.
  • Only Starter+ has a published price.
  • The comparison table marks several features as optional on higher packs, and the site is in French.
Right for

A French merchant with a stockroom who wants orders, stock and labels together

Wrong for

A seller who only needs labels, without stock tooling

FranceStarter pack from a published monthly fee with a trial, three further packs on quote

#10 Shippo

Shipping labels, rates and tracking in an app or API

Ranked #10 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

Shippo is a multi-carrier web app and API for e-commerce. Starter is free up to 30 labels a month, Pro adds pick lists, estimated delivery dates, branded tracking and notification emails, and Premier adds an account manager and more logins.

Connecting your own carrier account costs a few cents a label on Starter and nothing on Pro. Confirm the Pro price in writing, because the page shows two figures.

What stands out
  • Free tier
  • API
  • US carriers
Where it costs you
  • The 40+ carrier set is listed around USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL Express.
  • Starter allows one login and email support only.
  • The visible Pro price and the structured data on the page differ.
Right for

A US seller on Shopify, Etsy or Wix who wants low entry cost

Wrong for

A merchant needing European regional carriers or stock control

United StatesFree Starter tier, Pro priced by monthly label volume, Premier on quote

#11 EasyPost

Shipping API for labels, tracking, address checks and insurance

Ranked #11 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

EasyPost is infrastructure: one API to rate, buy a label, verify an address and track a parcel. It publishes unit prices, including tracking at $0.01 to $0.03 a shipment and insurance at 1% of value with a $1 minimum.

Its customer logos include Walmart, Dell and The Home Depot. Because the bill has several meters, model labels, tracking and insurance separately before comparing it with a flat monthly tool.

What stands out
  • API-first
  • 100+ carriers
  • Insurance
Where it costs you
  • There is no ready interface for a shop owner without a developer or plug-in.
  • Costs come from several meters: labels, tracking and insurance.
  • Several products, such as Forge and cartonization, need a sales conversation.
Right for

A software team or marketplace building shipping into its own product

Wrong for

A shop owner with no developer to build on an API

United StatesFree up to 3,000 labels on wallet carriers, monthly fee for own carrier accounts, usage-based extras

#12 Easyship

Cross-border shipping with duties, taxes and a 3PL network

Ranked #12 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

Easyship centres on landed cost. The free plan includes discounted rates, courier selection and duty calculation. Plus adds checkout rates and your own courier account, and Premier adds duty and tax at checkout, return labels and 24/7 phone support.

A Global 3PL network can be added. Subscriptions are billed monthly with no contract, and annual saves 20%. Ask for the current price list in writing, since the public page did not show numbers.

What stands out
  • International
  • Duties and taxes
  • 550+ couriers
Where it costs you
  • The plans page showed placeholder prices and inconsistent tier names when checked.
  • Duty and tax display at checkout needs Premier.
  • Easyship lists offices on three continents and gives no headquarters, which complicates contract questions.
Right for

A merchant whose customers are mostly in other countries than home

Wrong for

A seller who ships only inside one country

United StatesFree plan, paid plans on annual billing with 20% off, Enterprise on contact, 14-day trial

#13 Ship&co

Japan-first shipping labels for domestic and international couriers

Ranked #13 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestAsia-Pacific

Ship&co offers a web app for stores and an API for warehouse systems. The pricing is published in yen and tax included: per-label charges fall by tier from 22 yen to 10 yen, and the monthly infrastructure fee rises from 1,100 yen to 11,000 yen with volume.

A 30-day trial needs no card. Carrier coverage centres on Japan. For a European seller the product only matters if parcels start in Japan.

What stands out
  • Japan carriers
  • Per-label pricing
  • API
Where it costs you
  • A monthly infrastructure fee applies even at zero labels.
  • It is of little use for sellers shipping from outside Japan.
  • The main pages are in Japanese.
Right for

A seller based in Japan using Yamato, Sagawa or Japan Post labels

Wrong for

A merchant shipping from Europe or the United States

JapanProgressive per-label charges plus a monthly infrastructure fee by volume, 30-day trial

#14 ShipStation

Order and shipping hub for parcel and freight, by volume tier

Ranked #14 of 14 in Best Ecommerce Shipping Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

ShipStation covers automated rate shopping, LTL comparison, return labels and basic automations on Starter, and unlimited automations, order combining and splitting, your own carrier accounts and the Shipping API on Standard.

Premium adds advanced inventory and warehouse management. Starter includes three users, Standard ten and Premium fifteen. Read the volume table, not the headline price, since a busy shop pays several times the entry fee.

What stands out
  • Parcel and LTL
  • Automations
  • Auctane
Where it costs you
  • The sticker price is for 50 shipments; busy shops pay a higher volume tier.
  • API access starts at Standard.
  • The jump to Premium is steep.
Right for

A US or UK seller with a high volume across marketplaces and carriers

Wrong for

A small shop that wants a simple free tool

United StatesThree plans priced by monthly shipment volume, no per-label fee, 30-day trial

How to choose shipping software

Ecommerce shipping software connects a shop or marketplace to carriers, imports orders, compares rates, prints labels and customs documents, sends tracking numbers to buyers and manages returns. The differences that matter are rarely in the feature list, so this is the order we would work through them.

  1. 01

Decide whether you need a published price

8 of the 14 tools here publish what they cost; the other 6 quote per organisation. The ones you can compare without a sales call: Shipmondo, Sendcloud, Sendify, Packlink PRO, Shippingbo, Shippo, EasyPost, Easyship.

  2. 02

Decide how much the jurisdiction matters

These 14 vendors are established in 9 countries across 3 regions (Europe 9, North America 4, Asia-Pacific 1). That decides whose disclosure law applies to what the vendor holds, wherever the servers are.

Own carrier contract or reseller rates: Shipmondo, Shiptheory and Sendcloud differ here

Shipping tools split into two kinds. Some resell discounted rates, as MyParcel does on its published tariff table and Packlink PRO does by taking its income from the shipments you buy. Others connect your own carrier accounts, as Shiptheory does, and charge only for software.

Shipmondo and Sendcloud do both, but charge for the second: Shipmondo adds a per-label fee and a one-off fee per customer number, and Sendcloud lets you bring your contract from Lite upward. Which model is cheaper depends on how good your own contract is, so compare the same parcel under both.

  • Get your current per-parcel cost from your carrier invoice before comparing.
  • Ask each vendor what it charges to use your own contract.
  • Check whether rates are fixed or change with your yearly volume band.

The cap is the real price: allowances, labels and users

Entry prices hide limits that decide the real bill. Shiptheory caps monthly shipments by tier, Sendcloud sets annual label allowances with a per-label overage, Wuunder caps carriers, users and rules on Essential, and ShipStation adds a volume tier to a base fee, so the $14.99 headline is for 50 shipments.

ShippyPro discounts the first year and renews higher. Seasonal shops feel this most: a Q4 peak can push a shop across an allowance for two months and onto a higher tier for the year. Compare the cost of the cheapest tier that covers the peak with the cost of paying overage, and ask whether a tier can be lowered after the peak or only at renewal.

  • Map your busiest month, not your average, onto each vendor's tiers.
  • Ask what happens to renewal prices after a first-year promotion.
  • Check the number of carriers, users and rules on the tier you would buy.

Checkout, tracking and returns often sit on a higher tier

A label printer is not what customers see, and it is where the cheapest plans stop. Delivery options at checkout, branded tracking pages and a returns portal decide how many support emails you get. Sendcloud puts branded tracking and the return portal at Growth, Wuunder starts nominated day delivery and branded checkout at Scale, and MyParcel sells returns as an add-on.

Sendify is a booking portal, and the pages checked show no tracking page or returns portal. Match the customer-facing features to your own contact volume, not to the feature list, and ask each vendor to show the customer view of a delayed parcel.

  • List which customer-facing features you need on day one.
  • Check which tier unlocks each one, in writing.
  • Test a return from the customer's side before you commit.

Exit, ownership and who can leave you stranded

Shipment history, labels and carrier rules are data you will want when you leave. Ownership matters too: Packlink PRO and ShipStation sit under Auctane, and Shipmondo has 30+ employees, so you should know what happens if a small vendor is acquired. Several vendors invoice a year in advance on a 12-month term, which makes a mistake expensive.

Ask for an export of shipment history before signing, and check whether your carrier accounts stay yours. Also ask what happens to open shipments and tracking links if you leave in the middle of a month, since customers keep clicking tracking links for weeks after a parcel ships.

  • Ask for a sample export of shipment history and tracking data.
  • Confirm the carrier accounts stay in your name.
  • Check the minimum term and notice period on every module.

What goes wrong most often when buying shipping software

  • Comparing headline prices. A free or EUR 11 plan is not what a shop pays once allowances, add-ons and own-contract fees are counted.
  • Ignoring which carriers you really use. A tool listing USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL, such as Shippo, may not cover a Dutch regional carrier, and a Nordic one will not help with Japan.
  • Buying the large platform too early. Enterprise delivery platforms are built for shippers with many carriers and countries, and a small shop pays in scope and commitment.
  • Skipping the peak month. Allowances and caps look generous in March and bind in December.
