Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026

Scraping tools differ less in what they fetch than in what they meter. Some bill per scraper, some per credit with multipliers, some per page or per request tier, and defended sites cost more in every model.

This guide ranks eleven products on first-ninety-day effort, the price after rendering and proxies, and how data leaves.

Visibility on this page can be bought by vendors; the text of an entry cannot, and neither can its criticism. Outbound clicks earn us nothing. How that works.

In short

What web scraping tools software does

A web scraping tool extracts website data into structured files or APIs, through a visual builder, a ready-made scraper or an HTTP endpoint that returns fetched and rendered pages.

How we ranked these

5 criteria, in order

In this order: setup effort, what it really costs, how your data comes back out, whether you can leave, and who each web scraping tool is built for. Smaller challengers are placed in the top three wherever the category has them; the well-known brands come after. Reasons for the choice of tests, and for skipping a score out of ten, can be read on the how we work page.

#1 Web Scraper

Latvian point-and-click scraper whose browser extension is free for local use

Ranked #1 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

The first ninety days are close to free: install the extension, build a sitemap with the point-and-click selector tool and export to CSV or XLSX. Cloud arrives when jobs need to run without you, with a scheduler, webhooks and export to Google Sheets, Dropbox or S3.

Pricing scales with scrapers and concurrency, starting at a stated per-1,000-URL rate, so forecasting needs a trial. Sitemaps and results stay exportable in standard formats.

What stands out
  • Latvian company
  • Visual sitemaps
  • Cloud scheduler
Where it costs you
  • Local extension runs only while your own browser is open, so scheduled jobs require the Cloud product
  • The Cloud price depends on how many scrapers and concurrent jobs you run, which is hard to forecast before a trial
Right for

Analysts and small teams that begin with a visual tool before paying for scale

Wrong for

Developers wanting one HTTP endpoint that returns rendered pages

LatviaExtension free for local use; Cloud plans scale with scrapers and concurrency; 7-day trial

#2 ZenRows

Spanish scraping API with one credit balance for fetch, crawl and browser

Ranked #2 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingEurope

Setup takes minutes: the free plan gives 5,000 credits a month, five concurrent requests and every primitive, with Python, Node and Go clients under an MIT licence.

The real price depends on the page mix, because a credit buys 1, 5, 10 or 25 requests of different kinds, and failed requests are not charged. Credits refresh monthly without rollover. SOC 2, ISO 27001 and a DPA are listed only for the custom enterprise tier.

What stands out
  • Spanish S.L.
  • Credit multipliers
  • MIT clients
Where it costs you
  • A page needing JavaScript and premium proxies costs 25 credits, so real page counts sit far below the headline credits
  • Residential bandwidth is charged at 25,000 credits per GB, and the standalone residential product is not on the free plan
Right for

Developers who want one API and one meter for simple and protected pages

Wrong for

Analysts who want to point and click without writing code

SpainFree plan with 5,000 monthly credits; five paid tiers published; custom enterprise contract

#3 ScrapingBee

Paris-built scraping API with public monthly plans from entry level to volume

Ranked #3 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

Starting takes an API key and 1,000 free credits with no card. The entry plan brings 75,000 credits and 25 concurrent requests, but a premium-proxy request with rendering uses 25 credits, so the realistic page count is a fraction of that.

Dedicated APIs for Google, Amazon and Walmart are included in every tier. Leaving means repointing plain HTTP calls at another API, with the rendering and proxy flags to translate.

What stands out
  • French SAS
  • Public price list
  • Dedicated APIs
Where it costs you
  • API credits are valid for one month and do not roll over, so quiet months are wasted
  • Priority email support, an account manager and team management only start at the Business plan
Right for

Small engineering teams wanting public monthly prices and a French contracting entity

Wrong for

Non-developers who need a visual builder and a desktop interface

FranceMonthly plans published up to enterprise tiers; 1,000 free API credits at sign-up

#4 Scrapfly

Bootstrapped API suite covering scrape, crawl, extraction, screenshots and browsers

Ranked #4 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Published pricingNorth America

Setup is a free key with 1,000 credits and SDKs for Python, TypeScript, Go and Rust. The first paid step is a monthly plan with 200,000 credits and five concurrent requests, followed by Pro at 1,000,000 with overflow billing.

Failed scrapes and upstream 4xx or 5xx responses are not charged. Feature access is the same on every plan, and the MSA, DPA, BAA and HIPAA terms are listed among the custom-tier extras.

What stands out
  • Joam Intelligence LLC
  • Five APIs
  • Failures not billed
Where it costs you
  • The entry tier stops at its quota because pay-as-you-go overflow only starts at Pro
  • Residential requests cost 25 credits and screenshots 60, so the entry quota covers far fewer jobs than it suggests
Right for

Developers who want crawl, extraction and browser sessions behind one key

Wrong for

Buyers who require a European contracting entity for procurement

United StatesCredit plans published monthly; 1,000 credits on sign-up with no time limit

#5 Crawlbase

Pay-as-you-go crawling API with a graduated per-request rate card

Ranked #5 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Published pricingElsewhere

Every account starts on pay as you go with no card, and the first 5,000 requests cost nothing. The real bill follows a graduated ladder with a difficulty multiplier, so a defended site costs more than the starting figure.

A subscription from a monthly block of 200,000 to 2,000,000 credits lowers the effective rate, with overage on the same ladder. Billing runs through Paddle, which the terms name as handling customer service enquiries and returns.

What stands out
  • Pay as you go
  • Graduated rates
  • Hard spend cap
Where it costs you
  • Sites rated moderate or complex multiply the rate by 1.5 or 2, applied automatically
  • Subscription blocks only lower the effective rate, and any overage continues on the same graduated ladder
Right for

Teams with uneven monthly volume that dislike fixed plan commitments

Wrong for

Buyers who need a stated country of establishment for procurement

Not stated by the vendorPay-as-you-go with published graduated rates; subscription blocks; first 5,000 requests free

#6 Browse AI

No-code robots that extract and monitor pages, billed in credits

Ranked #6 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

Training a robot needs no code, so the first ninety days cost mostly hours spent on recipes rather than engineering. The real price depends on two meters: credits per month and domains per plan.

Personal covers 5 domains with 2,000 monthly credits, Professional 10 domains from 5,000, and annual billing is 20 percent cheaper with credits paid upfront. An API exists for pulling out what the robots capture.

What stands out
  • Canadian Inc.
  • No-code robots
  • Domain limits
Where it costs you
  • Each plan caps the number of websites, with extra sites sold as a monthly add-on
  • The free plan allows only 50 credits a month, enough to test a single robot, not to run one
Right for

Marketing and operations staff who monitor a handful of sites without coding

Wrong for

Engineering teams scraping hundreds of domains through an API

CanadaFree plan with 50 monthly credits; Personal and Professional published; Premium from a stated floor

#7 Octoparse

Desktop and cloud visual scraper with templates, plus managed crawler services

Ranked #7 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

A free plan covers learning: 10 tasks, one device, local runs and up to 50,000 exported rows monthly. Standard adds 100 tasks, three concurrent cloud runs, 500+ templates and an export API, but the add-ons (proxy bandwidth, CAPTCHA solving, pay-per-result templates) bill on top.

Paid plans carry a 5-day money-back guarantee. Data leaves as Excel, CSV, JSON, HTML or XML, or to a database or Google Sheets.

What stands out
  • Irvine headquarters
  • Desktop app
  • Template gallery
Where it costs you
  • Residential proxies (priced per GB) and CAPTCHA solving (priced per 1,000) are add-ons, not part of the plan
  • Done-for-you crawler setup starts at a stated floor and data services at a higher one, outside the subscription
Right for

Non-developers who want templates and a desktop app with an upgrade path

Wrong for

Teams expecting one price that includes proxies and CAPTCHA handling

United StatesFree plan with 10 tasks; Standard and Professional published; add-ons and services quoted

#8 Apify

Prague platform with a marketplace of ready-made scrapers called Actors

Ranked #8 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingElsewhere

The free plan brings 5 dollars of prepaid usage and community support, enough to try several Actors. A paid plan adds a lower compute-unit rate and a store discount tier, while extras such as concurrent runs, memory and datacenter proxies are separate add-ons.

Exceeding the free allowance blocks access until the next cycle. Crawlee, the vendor's crawling library, is Apache-2.0 on GitHub, so custom code can move elsewhere.

What stands out
  • Czech s.r.o.
  • Actor marketplace
  • Usage-based
Where it costs you
  • Each Actor in the store sets its own pricing model, so total cost needs a test run per scraper
  • Prepaid usage expires at the end of each billing cycle and does not roll over
Right for

Teams wanting ready-made scrapers for popular sites plus room to build their own

Wrong for

Buyers wanting one flat, predictable monthly price per scraper

Czech RepublicFree plan with prepaid usage; Starter, Scale and Business published; usage billed on top

#9 Firecrawl

API turning pages into clean data for AI apps, billed per page

Ranked #9 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Free tierOpen sourcePublished pricingNorth America

The free allowance is 1,000 credits a month with two concurrent browsers, enough for a prototype. Paid tiers run Hobby to Scale, and credits are shared across scrape, crawl, search and the browser interaction endpoint at two credits a minute.

Real cost depends on output format, since structured JSON multiplies the per-page rate. Zero-data retention and SSO are listed only for the enterprise tier.

What stands out
  • Delaware corporation
  • AGPL repository
  • Per-page credits
Where it costs you
  • JSON-style extraction adds 4 credits per page, so a structured crawl costs five times a plain one
  • A page that answers with 403 or 404 is still returned and still billed at one credit
Right for

Developers feeding web pages into retrieval or agent pipelines at volume

Wrong for

Non-technical users who want a visual builder instead of an API

United StatesFree plan with 1,000 monthly credits; Hobby to Scale published monthly or yearly

#10 Diffbot

Menlo Park extraction APIs plus a Knowledge Graph of structured entities

Ranked #10 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingNorth America

A free key gives 10,000 credits a month and five requests per minute, which suffices to test extraction on a few page types. The paid tiers are monthly with no long-term contract, and overage bills pro rata at the plan rate.

Cost depends on which API you call: 1 credit per extracted page, 25 per Knowledge Graph entity. Students and academic researchers receive Startup-tier access without charge.

What stands out
  • Menlo Park
  • Knowledge Graph
  • Crawl from Plus
Where it costs you
  • Crawl is available only from the Plus plan upward, with 25 active crawls
  • Knowledge Graph exports cost 25 credits per entity and 100 per facet query
Right for

Teams that need structured entity data, not only page text

Wrong for

Buyers who only need cheap bulk page fetching

United StatesFree plan with 10,000 monthly credits; Startup and Plus published; enterprise by contract

#11 Zyte

Irish scraping API priced per request by site difficulty tier

Ranked #11 of 11 in Best Web Scraping Tools in 2026.

Published pricingEurope

Zyte prices each request by how hard the target site is, in five tiers, so one project can have five different rates.

Plain responses run from cents to about a dollar per 1,000 requests and browser-rendered ones cost many times more, with discounts at 100, 200 and 500 dollar monthly commitments. A calculator needs your URLs before it can quote, and some features add usage costs.

What stands out
  • Zyte Group Limited
  • Difficulty tiers
  • Commitment tiers
IrelandPer-request rates published by difficulty tier; monthly commitments; 5 dollars free credit at sign-up

How to choose web scraping tools software

A web scraping tool extracts website data into structured files or APIs, through a visual builder, a ready-made scraper or an HTTP endpoint that returns fetched and rendered pages. These are the questions that actually differ between vendors, in the order we would ask them.

  1. 01

    Start with pricing transparency

Every web scraping tool here states what it costs on its own site, so the whole list can be compared without a call: Web Scraper, ZenRows, ScrapingBee, Scrapfly, Crawlbase, Browse AI, Octoparse, Apify, Firecrawl, Diffbot, Zyte.

  2. 02

    Weigh the vendor's home jurisdiction

Where a company is established decides which courts and regulators can reach it. Here that means 8 countries: North America 5, Europe 4, Elsewhere 2.

  3. 03

Consider whether you want the source

Open source here means Firecrawl. The price of self-hosting is the time your team spends maintaining it.

Credit multipliers decide the real page count

Headline credits rarely equal pages. ZenRows charges 1 credit for a plain page, 5 with JavaScript rendering, 10 with premium proxies and 25 with both. ScrapingBee uses the same 5, 10 and 25 steps, and Scrapfly charges 25 credits on residential IPs and 60 for a full-page screenshot. Firecrawl keeps one credit per page but adds 4 for JSON-style output.

Divide each plan's credits by the multiplier your target pages need, not by 1, and compare the resulting page counts across vendors. Credits that roll over or refresh differently also change the maths, so note that too. A tier that looks twice as cheap per credit can be dearer per page once rendering is required.

  • Test ten of your real target pages and record the credits each consumed.
  • Divide plan credits by that measured cost, not the headline figure.
  • Ask whether failed or blocked requests are billed.

Visual tools and APIs answer different questions

Web Scraper, Octoparse and Browse AI let someone without code define what to extract, and each has a free entry point: the Web Scraper extension for local use, Octoparse with 10 tasks, Browse AI with 50 monthly credits. APIs such as ScrapingBee, Crawlbase and Zyte return pages that a developer then parses.

Visual tools move maintenance to the person who owns the data question, while APIs move it to engineering. Octoparse sells proxies and CAPTCHA solving as add-ons and Browse AI caps websites per plan, so check what each visual plan leaves out before scheduling anything. A tool that is free for local use may still need a paid cloud tier the moment a job must run unattended, so price that tier too.

  • Decide who will fix a scraper when the target page layout changes.
  • List the add-ons a visual plan needs for protected sites.
  • Check whether the plan caps websites, tasks or concurrent runs.

Pay-as-you-go, commitments and prepaid usage

Billing structure matters as much as price. Crawlbase bills successful requests on a graduated ladder with no monthly fee, and Zyte prices each request by site difficulty, with commitments at 100, 200 and 500 dollars a month. Apify sells prepaid usage that expires each cycle plus Actor-specific prices, and Scrapfly's entry plan stops at its quota while Pro adds overflow billing.

Diffbot and Firecrawl rent monthly credits, with Diffbot reserving Crawl for its Plus tier. A spiky workload suits graduated or overflow billing; a steady one suits a fixed block. Ask for the overage rate before choosing a tier, since it governs the bad month, and whether a spend cap exists to stop a runaway job from producing a surprise invoice.

  • Chart your monthly volume for a year before choosing a model.
  • Find the overage rate on the plan you are considering.
  • Check whether unused credits expire or roll over.

Terms, data use and what the vendor will not do

Scraping sits inside the terms of the sites you target and the terms of your vendor, and neither is solved by a tool. Apify's terms refer to sanctions regimes of the Czech Republic, the European Union and the United States, and Scrapfly publishes a KYC compliance page and a DPA. ZenRows lists SOC 2, ISO 27001 and a DPA for its enterprise tier, and Firecrawl lists zero-data retention only for enterprise.

Read each vendor's acceptable-use clause, keep to the target site's own terms and robots rules, and take legal advice before collecting personal data. A vendor claim about handling anti-bot systems is not permission to ignore a site's terms, and the contract you sign with the vendor does not transfer any liability for what you collect.

  • Read the vendor's acceptable-use policy before the first job.
  • Ask whether a DPA is available on your plan or only in enterprise.
  • Keep personal data out of scraping jobs unless counsel agrees.

What goes wrong most often when buying web scraping tools software

  • Buying on credits per euro without measuring how many credits a rendered, proxied page consumes on your own targets.
  • Starting with a visual tool for a job that will later need an API, then paying twice for the rebuild.
  • Forgetting that Browse AI caps websites and Octoparse sells proxies separately, so a cheap plan grows once real sites are added.
  • Treating vendor statements about anti-bot handling as legal clearance to collect from any site.
