ZeroBounce vs Kickbox
These two verifiers disagree about what you are buying. ZeroBounce sells verification as one part of a deliverability account, with a free tier of 100 credits a month, pay-as-you-go from 39 USD and a ONE subscription from 99 USD a month. Kickbox sells plain credit packs from 500 to 1,000,000 verifications, gives the first 100 free and publishes no subscription. Both list a United States base, so the choice is about recurring extras versus one-off cleaning, not about location.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
you want warmup, blacklist monitoring and inbox placement tests next to verification in one login. You also expect to verify every month, so a rolling credit balance and a monthly free allowance suit you.
you clean a list now and then, or check signups, and would rather buy a single pack than hold a subscription. You also want unknown results handed back as reusable credits.

Where they differ

Monthly allowance versus a single free batch
ZeroBounce keeps a freemium tier that refills each month: 100 validation credits, plus one inbox placement test, one server test, one blacklist monitor and 10 email finder searches. Kickbox gives the first 100 verifications free, and its pricing page shows no recurring free allowance. For a team that wants to test a few addresses every month without paying, ZeroBounce is the better fit. For a single trial run, the two start level.

Buying by pack, by credit or by subscription
Kickbox lists packs of 500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, 10,000, 25,000, 50,000, 100,000, 250,000, 500,000, 750,000 and 1,000,000 verifications, each with a price. ZeroBounce offers pay-as-you-go with a 39 USD minimum for 2,000 validations, or ONE from 99 USD a month for at least 10,000 credits. Kickbox has the finer ladder of sizes. ZeroBounce has the monthly route that Kickbox does not publish.
Depends on the buyer
- 03
What happens to credits you do not use
ZeroBounce says unused credits roll over on the ONE subscription, and that credits never expire while that subscription is active. Our notes on the pay-as-you-go side do not state an expiry rule, so we cannot promise one. Kickbox does not say that packs expire on the pages we read, and it refunds the credit for an unknown result so it can be used again. Both treat leftovers reasonably, with ZeroBounce tying its promise to the subscription.

- 04
Results you are not charged for
ZeroBounce does not charge for unknown results or duplicates, which matters on messy exports with repeated rows. Kickbox does not charge for unknown results either: the credit is refunded and can be reused. Kickbox sorts every address into deliverable, risky or undeliverable, with disposable, role-based and accept-all addresses counted as risky. How ZeroBounce handles repeated rows beyond the no-charge rule is not shown in our material, so this round is level.

The extras that raise the bill
ZeroBounce lists AI scoring, an email finder, email activity data, warmup, inbox placement, server testing, blacklist monitoring and a DMARC monitor. A successful finder query uses 20 credits, twenty times a verification, so heavy finder use drains a balance quickly. Kickbox lists list verification, a real-time API, deliverability consulting and an Email Threat Score. ZeroBounce covers far more ground, and that breadth is its edge for teams who will use it.

Compliance statements and company details
Kickbox states it is fully GDPR-compliant and SOC II certified, with its verification and support teams in the US plus the EU, and it lists offices in New York and London. It is part of the Ziff Davis Growth Ecosystem. ZeroBounce operates as Hertza L.L.C., a Nevada company in Santa Barbara, California, under Nevada law, and no certification claim appears in the material we read. Kickbox gives a buyer more to check.

When neither fits
If you want a vendor with a European company behind it, neither of these is the obvious answer, since both are listed in the United States. Verifalia and Bouncer are two other names in our email verification list to read next.
ZeroBounce or Kickbox: questions
3 answersDoes ZeroBounce charge for addresses it cannot decide on?
No, ZeroBounce does not charge for unknown results or duplicates. Kickbox behaves similarly, refunding the credit for an unknown result so you can use it again. The difference lies elsewhere, in how the credits are sold.
Is there a way to buy Kickbox by the month?
Not according to the Kickbox page we checked, which shows credit packs and no subscription plan or time-limited trial. Volumes above 1,000,000 verifications go through a contact for custom pricing or volume discounts. ZeroBounce is the one with a published monthly subscription.
Why would a 20-credit finder search matter when comparing the two?
ZeroBounce charges 20 credits for each successful email finder query, so a pack sized for verification can run out fast if you also prospect. Kickbox's pages list no finder product at all. It only matters if you plan to use that feature.
