Eventbrite vs Ticket Tailor

Eventbrite is a ticketing marketplace with a percentage-plus-fixed fee and a United States corporation behind it, owned by Bending Spoons. Ticket Tailor charges a flat amount per ticket with no subscription and is run from London. Neither names agenda, speaker or exhibitor tools, so both are the sales layer of an event.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

  2. 02

    Free events

Eventbrite lists no fees on free events and no stated cap. Ticket Tailor charges nothing for up to 5,000 free tickets a year, and its first five ticket sales carry no fee. For free events at volume, Eventbrite reads better on the pages we saw.

  3. 03

    Reach and location

Eventbrite lists availability in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland. Ticket Tailor takes payment in GBP, EUR, USD, AUD and CAD. Eventbrite's advantage is marketplace discovery and Eventbrite Ads, which a stand-alone ticket page lacks.

    Depends on the buyer

  4. 04

    On the door and ownership

Both have a check-in app. Ticket Tailor's is free for iOS and Android, scans QR tickets and works offline, and it adds reserved seating charts. Ticket Tailor is the trading name of Zimma Ltd, bought back by its founder from Time Out in 2014. Eventbrite names Bending Spoons S.p.A. as parent.

When neither fits

If you need speaker, agenda or exhibitor management, look beyond both. Pretix is an open-source option with a European origin, and Tito is a ticketing alternative for conferences.
