Tally vs Typeform
The widest gap is the response ceiling: Tally's free plan counts no submissions at all, while Typeform's free plan tops out at 100 responses monthly, for one user. Tally only steps in around 50,000 submissions a month, under a fair-use policy, and asks heavy accounts to move to a custom plan. Typeform rations both responses and seats, so its paid tiers climb from USD 79 to USD 129 a month. Tally charges EUR 20 or EUR 65 flat, with unlimited team members from Pro. Typeform is the one that sells design and conversational logic as its pitch.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
you collect a lot of responses and want the bill to stay flat instead of rising with volume. You also want payments, signatures, logic and webhooks without paying for a plan first.
you run campaigns where the look of the form and its conversational flow are the point, and you have budget for it. You may also need single sign-on or HIPAA, which Typeform lists under its custom-priced Enterprise plan.

Climbing the paid ladder
Tally has two flat paid plans: Pro at EUR 20 a month and Business at EUR 65 a month, with two months off when billed yearly. Typeform's published ladder runs Plus at USD 79 a month with 1,000 responses, then Business at USD 129 monthly covering 10,000 responses, and annual billing takes 30 percent off. Its Growth Flow plan costs USD 379 a month. On the figures shown, Tally's paid route costs far less at each step.

Seats, and who gets one
Tally Pro includes unlimited team members in shared workspaces, so adding a colleague changes nothing on the invoice. Typeform ties seats to the tier: the free plan has one user, Plus has three, and Business has five. A growing team therefore pushes a Typeform account up a plan even when response volume stays small. Anyone planning to hand forms to many people will notice this limit sooner on Typeform than on Tally, and the cost follows.

Taking the badge off
Both vendors keep their branding on forms until you pay. At Tally, removing the Tally badge comes with Pro, which also adds custom domains, custom CSS and partial submissions. At Typeform, the Typeform badge comes off on Plus, which also lifts the cap from 100 to 1,000 responses. The entry price for a clean, branded-free form is EUR 20 at Tally and USD 79 at Typeform, per the pricing pages. The cheaper entry point matters most for small teams.

Contracts, compliance and retention
Typeform places single sign-on and HIPAA on its Enterprise plan, priced on request, which suits regulated buyers who already expect a negotiated contract. Tally's Business plan adds data-retention control and email verification, and its fair-use page says accounts above 50,000 submissions a month, or 100 GB of uploads, are contacted about a custom plan. Nothing in the Tally material we read offers HIPAA or single sign-on, so Typeform has the clearer route for large regulated buyers.

The company on the invoice
Tally is run by Tally BV, a Belgian limited liability company registered in Ghent, under Belgian law. Its about page calls it a small, independent, bootstrapped team in Europe, and the homepage says data is hosted in Europe. Typeform's terms name Typeform SL in Barcelona for customers outside the United States and a Delaware company for US ones; its about page says it is remote-first, with over 250 employees. Typeform's hosting location is not stated in the material we read.

What the free plan really allows
Tally's free plan offers unlimited forms and submissions, plus payments, signatures, file uploads, conditional logic and webhooks, within its fair-use rules, and uploads are held to 10 MB each until Pro. Typeform's free plan also offers unlimited typeforms and questions, logic and webhooks, but only 100 responses a month and one user. Tally's page mentions no trial period. For anyone testing a real survey, Tally's free plan lasts much longer before a card is needed, which counts for a lot.
Edge: Tally
When neither fits
If you want an open-source option you can inspect, look at OpnForm. If you prefer one large vendor with many form templates, Jotform is worth comparing. Neither Tally nor Typeform fits a buyer who needs a negotiated volume contract on a low budget.
Tally or Typeform: questions
3 answersWhat happens when Tally's free plan gets very busy?
Tally defines extensive usage as consistently collecting 50,000 submissions a month, or 100 GB of uploads. At that point it contacts the account about a custom plan. Below that, the free plan carries no response cap under its fair-use policy.
Is Typeform's free plan enough for a small survey?
It can be, if you expect under 100 responses a month and only one person edits the forms. It includes unlimited typeforms and questions, conditional logic and webhooks. Past that you move up to Plus, USD 79 monthly, which includes 1,000 responses and three users.
Which of the two keeps its branding off cheaper?
Tally removes its branding on Pro, at EUR 20 a month. Typeform removes its badge on Plus, at USD 79 a month. The currencies differ, so the pricing pages are the place to check the exact total in your own billing currency.
