Mouseflow vs Lucky Orange

Both sell session recordings and heatmaps by monthly session volume, and both include unlimited team members. Mouseflow keeps a free-forever tier and lets you pick EU or US data storage; Lucky Orange has no free tier, puts every feature on every plan and adds live chat. The choice comes down to a free starting point and data location against a bundled feature set.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Where they differ

  1. 01

    Starting at zero

Mouseflow's Free plan is described as free forever with no card required, and covers 500 sessions a month for one website. Lucky Orange offers a 7-day trial with full access, then a paid plan from USD 32 a month billed annually. A site with modest traffic can stay on Mouseflow for nothing.

    Edge: Mouseflow

  2. 02

    Where the recordings are stored

Mouseflow lists data centres in Belgium and in Iowa, chosen by the location you pick at sign-up. Lucky Orange publishes a Kansas address and Kansas governing law in its terms, and the pages we read name no storage region. For a buyer who needs EU storage, only Mouseflow gives a stated option.

    Edge: Mouseflow

  3. 03

    Chat, surveys and live view

Lucky Orange bundles a live chat widget, surveys, announcements and a live view of visitors, with each response linked to the visitor's recording. Mouseflow offers feedback surveys, form analytics, friction detection and funnels, but its navigation lists no live chat. If talking to visitors matters, Lucky Orange covers more.

  4. 04

    How the ladder climbs

Mouseflow runs 500, 5,000, 25,000 and 100,000 sessions, with retention from 1 to 12 months and a custom top tier. Lucky Orange starts at 3,500 sessions on Build, with 60 days of storage, extra storage and extra websites (USD 5 each) as paid additions. Mouseflow's limits are clearer to plan around.

When neither fits

If you need product analytics or warehouse access, neither is built for it. PostHog and Microsoft Clarity are listed in the same category and are worth a look.

Mouseflow or Lucky Orange: questions

3 answers
Does Lucky Orange have a free plan?

The pages we read show a 7-day free trial with full access, not a permanent free plan. Mouseflow does list a free tier of 500 sessions a month.

Can I keep recordings in the EU with either tool?

Mouseflow states a European data centre in Belgium, chosen at sign-up. Lucky Orange does not state a storage region on the pages we read.

Which one has live chat built in?

Lucky Orange, on every plan. Mouseflow's product list covers replay, heatmaps, funnels, forms and surveys but no chat.
