GetResponse vs EmailOctopus

GetResponse is a Polish suite that adds landing pages, SMS and webinars to email, with plans from EUR 16 a month. EmailOctopus is a UK sender with a free plan for 2,500 subscribers and a single Pro tier. The choice is mostly breadth against simplicity.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Where they differ

  1. 01

Cost at 1,000 contacts and above

GetResponse Starter is EUR 16 per month at 1,000 contacts and EUR 69 at 10,000, net of taxes. EmailOctopus Pro is priced by subscribers, but the pricing page text we read gives no figures. We can only say GetResponse is the one with numbers we can quote.

    Depends on the buyer

  2. 02

    Free option

EmailOctopus Starter is free with no time limit: 2,500 subscribers, 10,000 emails a month, 1 user, but its own branding and 30 days of reports. GetResponse gives a 14-day trial, then a free account with limited features. EmailOctopus is the clearer free start.

  3. 03

    Webinars, pages and SMS

GetResponse lists landing pages, SMS and webinars on its homepage; Creator allows webinars for up to 100 attendees. EmailOctopus Starter has 1 landing page and 1 form, and Pro lifts those limits. For webinars in the same account, GetResponse states it on its pages.

    Edge: GetResponse

  4. 04

    Early plan limits

GetResponse Starter allows 1 automation workflow and 3 users, and unlimited workflows begin on Marketer. EmailOctopus has no trial, so Pro cannot be tried before paying. Each tool therefore asks for a commitment before its useful features appear.

When neither fits

If you want a free plan with deeper automation, or a European-built option beyond these two, look at Brevo or MailerLite.
