Superwhisper vs Wispr Flow
The sharpest split is what happens to your voice. Superwhisper lists offline models that run on the device, best on Apple Silicon Macs, and adds cloud models and your own AI API keys on Pro. Wispr Flow's page does not say whether processing is local or in the cloud, but it does run on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android with sync between them. Both have a free tier, Superwhisper with unlimited Whisper models and Wispr Flow with 2,000 words a week. Neither page shows a paid price we could rely on, and neither names a company or country.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
you want dictation that can stay on the machine, using offline models on an Apple Silicon Mac. You also like a free tier without a word cap and a lifetime option if you later pay.
you dictate on both a phone and a computer and want the same account synced across Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android. You also want the free weekly allowance, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001 claims, and a meeting recorder included at no cost.

Where they differ
Superwhisper 3 · Wispr Flow 2 · open 1- 01
What leaves the machine
Superwhisper states that its offline models run on the device, with the best results on Apple Silicon Macs. Pro adds unlimited cloud and local models plus the option to use your own AI API keys, and Enterprise adds enterprise-hosted models. That gives a buyer a clear choice between local and cloud. Wispr Flow's page says nothing on whether audio is processed locally or in the cloud, which leaves a privacy question open until its terms and privacy pages are read.

Free tiers: no cap versus 2,000 words
Superwhisper's free plan lists voice-to-text in any app with unlimited Whisper models, and its trial unlocks Pro features for 3,000 words before the free tier carries on indefinitely. Wispr Flow's free plan is capped at 2,000 words per week, with no card and no trial countdown, and it includes both dictation and the Notetaker. Someone who dictates a lot will reach the Wispr Flow limit within a few days, while Superwhisper's free plan states no word ceiling.

Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android
Wispr Flow lists Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android as supported and says it syncs across them, so one account follows you from desk to phone. Superwhisper's pages give no complete list of platforms. They show only that meetings are Mac only and that offline models run best on Apple Silicon Macs, which points toward a Mac-first product. For anyone who splits time between Windows, Android and Apple devices, Wispr Flow is the one with the stated coverage.

Paid plans with prices missing
Superwhisper's Pro plan comes monthly, yearly with two months free, or lifetime, and all plans carry a 30-day refund, but the figure our reader returned was unreliable, so we record no Pro price. Wispr Flow lists Pro, Teams and Enterprise, with Pro giving unlimited dictation, and shows no price for any of them on the page read. Neither lets you budget from the page alone. Superwhisper at least names a lifetime route and a refund window.

Meetings and languages
Both products list over 100 languages. Superwhisper's free plan includes meetings, but only on Mac. Wispr Flow's Notetaker records Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack huddles and in-person meetings on Mac or Windows, and it sits on the free plan as well. Wispr Flow also detects the language automatically. For a mixed Mac and Windows office that wants recorded meetings, the wider Notetaker coverage on Wispr Flow is the clearer fit, though neither page describes meeting output in detail.

Certifications and who is behind them
Wispr Flow's page claims SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001, and says your data is never sold, yet it names no legal entity, owner or country. Superwhisper lists SOC 2 Type II under Enterprise, with centralised billing, authentication and model access control, and shows a Backed by API Capital logo, while also naming no company or country. Both leave the buyer to read the terms pages for answers, so the round ends level.
Depends on the buyer
When neither fits
Anyone who requires a named legal entity together with a clear price will find neither page gives both. Voibe is worth a look as a Mac-focused option, and Talon Voice suits people who want hands-free control beyond plain dictation.
Superwhisper or Wispr Flow: questions
3 answersCan Superwhisper work without an internet connection?
Its pages say offline models run on the device, best on Apple Silicon Macs. The free plan lists unlimited Whisper models, so offline use is possible without paying.
Cloud models and your own AI API keys are part of Pro, and those would need a connection.
Where does Wispr Flow process my dictation?
The page we read does not say whether processing is local or in the cloud. It does state that your data is never sold and claims SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001.
Its terms and privacy pages are linked, but their text was not in what we read, so check them first.
What happens when the free allowance runs out?
On Wispr Flow the free plan stops at 2,000 words per week, and Pro unlocks unlimited dictation at a price the page does not show.
