Cvent alternatives: 11 event management tools compared

Teams look past Cvent when a quote for several licensed solutions is more than the event needs. Its price is set per organisation, its tiers cap logins and API calls, and its pieces are sold one by one. The alternatives below range from per-ticket services to conference suites with a published annual fee.

Short answer: The first three alternatives to Cvent in our event management ranking are pretix, Tito and Ticket Tailor. Challengers take places 1 to 3 here. Big brands follow in the order of our category ranking. Choose pretix if you want a German vendor, self-hosting as an option and a fee you can compute from the ticket price. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Event Management Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Cvent.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Cvent

#15 of 15 in our event management ranking

  • Built for: Large corporate event teams needing venue sourcing, rooms and onsite tools together
  • Not for: Small organisers wanting a published price
01

Why buyers look past Cvent

  1. 01

The price arrives with a sales call

Cvent's pricing page names a Professional and an Enterprise tier and offers a free quote, but states no figure for either. Registration, Attendee Hub and OnArrival each carry their own Get pricing link, and the page mentions no free trial, only a ten-minute demo video and a request form. A small organiser cannot work out a yearly cost before talking to sales.

  2. 02

Tier limits bite as events multiply

The features page lists 15 user logins on Professional and unlimited on Enterprise, with API access of 1,000 calls a day against 15,000. The pricing page puts API access, single sign-on and multi-factor authentication on Enterprise only. A growing events team can find that the integration and security features it needs sit one tier up.

  3. 03

Pieces are licensed one at a time

Event diagramming, Passkey room blocks, premium surveys, premium webinars, iCapture lead capture, implementation and event build are listed as add-ons or services next to the core licences. Cvent is owned by Blackstone funds since June 2023, and the breadth suits a large programme. A team running one conference pays attention to every line it did not need.

What each one does differently

pretix

Germany · Published

pretix from Heidelberg charges 2.5% of the ticket price, capped at €15 per ticket, with the first 500 free tickets a year at no charge. Exhibitor lead scanning is a €25 add-on billed only for exhibitors who scanned a lead. The hosted service can be swapped for your own server. Expect ticketing and registration rather than an attendee app.

Switch from Cvent if you want a German vendor, self-hosting as an option and a fee you can compute from the ticket price.

Tito

Ireland · Published

Tito is a six-person Dublin company that takes 3% per paid ticket, capped at €25, and nothing on free events or per month. You connect your own Stripe or PayPal account and can reach it through an API. Scope stays at registration: ticket types, discount codes, invitations and check-in.

Switch from Cvent if your event is a conference or workshop series and registration is the only job you pay for.

Ticket Tailor

United Kingdom · Published

Ticket Tailor, a London company owned by its founder, sells tickets at £0.60 each pay-as-you-go or from £0.22 with prepaid credits that never expire. It supplies event pages, seating charts, a check-in app and email. The pricing section mentions 5,000 free tickets a year, though an FAQ on the same page gives a lower figure, so confirm with support.

Switch from Cvent if seated or ticketed events with a plain per-ticket price fit better than a quote-based suite.

Swoogo

United States · Published

Swoogo publishes its Professional plan at $11,800 a year, which includes one full user and one reporting user with unlimited events and registrations. Single sign-on, sub-accounts, call for speakers and mobile apps are priced add-ons. Sales run through a demo, and no trial is mentioned.

Switch from Cvent if a marketing team runs many events and prefers one visible annual fee over per-event quotes.

RegFox, a Webconnex product from Sacramento, carries a fee per registration: $0.99 plus 1% on Standard, $1.99 plus 1% on Premium. Badge printing and SMS start on Premium, while single sign-on and a free custom domain need Professional at $499 a month billed annually. Card processing of 2.9% plus 30 cents applies on top.

Switch from Cvent if registrations vary through the year and you would rather pay per sign-up than per licence.

Eventzilla

United States · Published

Eventzilla lists Basic at $1.50 per registration, Pro at 1.9% plus $1.50 and Plus at 2.9% plus $1.50, with Scale on custom annual credits. Plus brings an agenda builder and a white-labelled registration experience. The bullet lists and comparison table disagree on where seating plans sit, so check before relying on either.

Switch from Cvent if you want a conference registration tool with speaker and exhibitor features at a published per-registration rate.

Switch from Cvent if the attendee app and networking matter most and quote-based pricing is acceptable.

04

When Cvent is still the right choice

Cvent remains the stronger choice for organisations running large, repeating programmes with venue sourcing, room blocks, onsite check-in and surveys under one contract. Its event management page cites 8.3 million events managed and lists integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and Enterprise adds single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and 15,000 API calls a day. If several of those pieces are already in use, replacing them with separate tools usually costs more than the licences saved.

05

What moving off Cvent involves

  1. 01

Inventory the Cvent solutions you actually license

Check the order form for Registration, Attendee Hub, OnArrival, diagramming, surveys, webinars and any managed services. Each needs a home elsewhere, and a line nobody used last year is a chance to drop scope.

  2. 02

Export registrants, forms and reports before the term ends

Ask for registration data, event reports and survey results in a file you can read, and agree what happens to open events. Check which of your CRM links, such as Salesforce or HubSpot, run through the API.

  3. 03

Run one event on the new tool first

Rebuild registration forms, confirmation emails and badge layouts, and test check-in hardware. Switch between events, not in the middle of a registration window.

Questions about replacing Cvent

6 answers
What is the best alternative to Cvent as event management software?

pretix ranks first in our list of Cvent alternatives: an independent Heidelberg vendor with a published fee of 2.5% per ticket capped at €15, 500 free tickets a year and a self-hosting option.

Tito, Ticket Tailor and Swoogo follow, depending on whether you need ticketing, seating or a full event site.

Which Cvent alternative publishes its prices?

pretix, Tito, Ticket Tailor, RegFox and Eventzilla publish per-ticket or per-registration fees. Swoogo, Accelevents, Stova and Bizzabo publish annual starting prices, such as Swoogo Professional at $11,800 a year. Cvent states no figure on its pricing page.

Is there a Cvent alternative with a free option?

pretix gives 500 free tickets a year, Tito charges nothing on free events, Zoho Backstage has a free plan for 100 participants per event, and Luma has a free plan with a 5% fee on paid tickets.

Ticket Tailor mentions free tickets as well, up to a limit that differs between two places on its page.

Which Cvent alternative works for a small conference?

Tito and pretix cover registration and check-in at a fee per ticket, and Eventzilla adds an agenda builder and speaker features on its higher plans.

Whova brings an attendee app, but is quoted per event. Test the check-in flow on a real ticket type before you commit.

Can I host an event tool myself instead of using Cvent?

pretix describes self-hosting as an option next to its hosted service, which suits organisers with their own server and data rules. It lists ticketing and registration, with exhibitor lead scanning as a paid extra, and does not describe an attendee app.

What do I lose when I leave Cvent?

Venue sourcing, room blocks, diagramming and the Cvent integration marketplace are the pieces smaller tools rarely match. Cvent's Enterprise tier also holds single sign-on and multi-factor authentication. List which of those you use before choosing.
