Best Master Data Management Software in 2026

Master data management software keeps one agreed record for each customer, product, supplier or location that many systems share.

This guide ranks eleven hubs on setup effort in the first ninety days, the bill once more domains and sources join, how records leave, whether a partner is compulsory, and which company each suits.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

In short

What master data management software does

Master data management software matches duplicate records across systems, merges them into a golden record under survivorship rules, lets stewards govern changes, and publishes the result back to operational systems.

How we ranked these

5 criteria, in order

In this order: setup effort, what it really costs, how your data comes back out, whether you can leave, and who each master data management tool is built for. One rule overrides the order: smaller vendors take the first three places when the category offers them, and the best-known brands start at four. Our how we work page explains the choice of these five and why we give no mark out of ten.

#1 CluedIn

Azure-hosted master data service billed per processed record

Ranked #1 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Free tierPublished pricingEurope

The pricing page sets out three plans, Essential, Pro and Elite, each with a per-record rate plus AI credit billed monthly. Pro adds Microsoft integrations, SSO and workflows; Elite adds custom AI models, a private endpoint and premium support.

The company lists an address in Ringsted, Denmark. Buyers should estimate the source-record count of every connected system first, because duplicates across systems are what drive the monthly bill.

What stands out
  • Pay per record
  • Azure-native
  • Unlimited users
Where it costs you
  • A record is billable once per source system, so a customer held in a CRM and an ERP counts as two.
  • The pricing shown applies to multi-tenant SaaS; a dedicated cluster sits in the Enterprise tier, which is a contract conversation.
Right for

Microsoft-centred teams wanting to load real records before any sales call

Wrong for

Estates where hub and data must stay on-premises

DenmarkFree first 15,000 records; published per-record plans on three tiers, unlimited users

#2 AtroCore

GPL-licensed platform for master data, product data and assets

Ranked #2 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Free tierSelf-hostablePublished pricingEurope

The repository on GitHub carries the GNU General Public License v3.0. The pricing page splits cost into hosting, support and modules: on-premises use needs no hosting fee, while the hosted edition bundles cloud hosting and a support package, with a three-month contract term and one month notice.

Integrations to ERPs and shops are priced separately. Customers are claimed in more than thirty countries.

What stands out
  • GPL-3.0 source
  • Self-host or SaaS
  • Modular
Where it costs you
  • Premium modules and integrations are charged separately, so a full build costs more than the starting package suggests.
  • The site describes a configurable application platform, so data models and rules are assembled by your team or a partner rather than shipped as ready domains.
Right for

Technical teams wanting source access and monthly prices for a hub

Wrong for

Buyers wanting turnkey industry data models out of the box

GermanyFree GPL edition; published monthly hosting and support packages, premium modules extra

#3 Profisee

Volume-priced MDM with unlimited domains and a Microsoft lean

Ranked #3 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Self-hostablePricing on requestNorth America

The pricing page offers two software editions: full MDM with matching, survivorship and golden records, and an Application Edition aimed at reference data and Microsoft MDS migrations.

Billing follows total data volume, regardless of how many domains are modelled, with bulk pricing available. Deployment ranges from turnkey SaaS to managed inside your own cloud. The site claims many implementations finish in under 90 days.

What stands out
  • Volume-based
  • Unlimited domains
  • Microsoft-aligned
Where it costs you
  • No price appears on the pricing page, only a quote request, so the volume bands cannot be compared in advance.
  • Much of the messaging centres on Microsoft Fabric and Purview, which gives less to someone running a different stack.
Right for

Mid-to-large teams on Microsoft stacks wanting several domains under one volume price

Wrong for

Buyers who need published prices before any call

United StatesQuoted by data volume, not by domain or attribute; editions for full MDM or reference data

#4 Semarchy

Master data hub deployable as SaaS, on-premises or inside Snowflake

Ranked #4 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Self-hostablePricing on requestNorth America

In this market Semarchy stands out for choice of location. The menu names SaaS, on-premises, cloud and Snowflake, so a firm that refuses to move master records out of its warehouse still has a route.

A free trial page exists, and a 12-week Rapid Delivery Blueprint sets a visible timeline. Offices in Phoenix, Poole, Lyon and Gurgaon give regional cover. What is missing is any published amount, which leaves comparison with priced rivals to a conversation.

What stands out
  • Snowflake deployment
  • On-prem option
  • 12-week blueprint
Where it costs you
  • The site shows no price list, and its pricing address returns Page Not Found, so cost is only learned through sales.
  • Four deployment routes mean the buyer must settle where the hub runs before scoping begins.
Right for

Teams that want the hub inside their Snowflake account or on their own premises

Wrong for

Buyers who need a rate card to build a budget before any call

United StatesTrial offered; SaaS, on-prem, cloud or Snowflake deployment; rates not shown on the site

#5 Reltio

Cloud-built multidomain hub with learned matching and many connectors

Ranked #5 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

The home page lists three offerings: Intelligent 360, Multidomain MDM and autonomous agents. Key features named are entity resolution with LLM-driven matching, data quality, and integration with more than 1,000 prebuilt connectors.

The company address is 100 Marine Parkway in Redwood City, California. Documentation and a trust centre are linked from every page, but no edition list or rate card appears.

What stands out
  • Cloud-built
  • Entity resolution
  • 1,000+ connectors
Where it costs you
  • The pricing path on the site leads to a not-found page, leaving no figure visible before a demo.
  • The pages read describe a vendor-run cloud platform, and none show an option to run it in your own data centre.
Right for

Large firms wanting a vendor-run hub with ready connectors

Wrong for

Teams needing a hub in their own data centre

United StatesDemo request first; no edition or rate card on the site

#6 Tamr

AI-first entity resolution sold on golden record volume

Ranked #6 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

Per its pricing page, Tamr bills the golden records produced, counted as Tamr IDs, with volume discounts as output grows. Customers, suppliers, products and other data products are priced independently.

The United States headquarters is on Church Street in Cambridge. A 30-minute demo is offered without obligation, and the site also links documentation, training, a value calculator and a glossary of definitions for evaluators to read.

What stands out
  • Output-based pricing
  • Entity resolution
  • Per data product
Where it costs you
  • Each data product is priced independently, so adding suppliers or products to customers adds a separate charge.
  • Unit rates stay unknown until a sales conversation, since only a quote button is offered.
Right for

Firms with heavily duplicated sources wanting cost tied to golden records

Wrong for

Programmes covering many domains on a tight budget

United StatesQuoted by output: priced per golden record, each data product separate, no feature tiers

#7 Pimcore

Open-core data platform pairing master data with product content

Ranked #7 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Free tierOpen sourceSelf-hostablePublished pricingEurope

Pimcore is one of the few names here with figures on the page: Professional on-premises at 9,900 dollars a year, Enterprise at 29,900 dollars, and PaaS on request. The repository licence is the Pimcore Open Core License, source visible but not open source.

Production use is free for organisations up to 5 million euros of revenue outside any larger group, and for non-profit and educational bodies. Non-production use costs nothing.

What stands out
  • Open core
  • Priced editions
  • MDM plus PIM
Where it costs you
  • Free production use stops above 5 million euros of revenue or inside a larger group, and Pimcore decides eligibility.
  • Master data is listed beside PIM, DAM and CDP, so a buyer after matching alone pays attention to modules it may skip.
Right for

Smaller firms wanting priced yearly editions they can read before contacting anyone

Wrong for

Subsidiaries of larger groups expecting the free edition to cover production

AustriaFree Community Edition under POCL; published on-premises edition prices; PaaS quoted

#8 Stibo Systems

Multidomain MDM from a privately held Danish group

Ranked #8 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestEurope

Stibo Systems offers ownership as a selling point: a privately held subsidiary of Stibo A/S, founded in 1794, with headquarters in Aarhus and a global address in Hojbjerg. Its pitch is that it answers only to customers.

Product Experience, Customer Experience, Business Partner, Supplier, Location and Sustainability each have their own data cloud, and AgentWorkx is an engine for building MDM agents. That range suits a long, multi-domain programme and demands careful scoping.

What stands out
  • Privately held
  • Cloud per domain
  • Danish group
Where it costs you
  • No prices appear on the pages read, so the first step is a sales contact.
  • Six separate data clouds mean a programme spanning several domains has to be sequenced cloud by cloud.
Right for

Buyers who prefer a vendor owned by a Danish group with no outside investors

Wrong for

Teams wanting to test with real data before any sales conversation

DenmarkContact-led sales; rates not shown on the pages read

#9 Syndigo

Cloud MDM beside product content syndication to retailers

Ranked #9 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

For a buyer of master data software, Syndigo matters because the hub comes joined to an outbound network. The MDM page describes cloud-native SaaS spanning assets, products and customers, with AI-powered validation and enrichment.

The home page claims syndication to more than 3,500 retailers, marketplaces and AI surfaces, and notes that 1WorldSync has joined the company. Headquarters are in Chicago. The pairing rewards product-led sellers and offers less to others.

What stands out
  • Cloud-native SaaS
  • Product syndication
  • Multi-domain
Where it costs you
  • Only a Talk to Sales route is shown and no amounts appear on the home or MDM pages.
  • The catalogue adds PIM, GDSN and rich media conversion, which a buyer with no retail channel would not use.
Right for

Manufacturers and brands that push product data out to retailers and marketplaces

Wrong for

Buyers whose master data has no link to retail or product listings

United StatesSales-led; rates not shown on the home or MDM pages

#10 ON EBX

Model-driven MDM formerly sold as TIBCO EBX

Ranked #10 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Self-hostablePricing on requestNorth America

The company page traces the product from Orchestra Networks in 2000 to the TIBCO acquisition in 2018 and the Cloud Software Group merger in 2022.

The platform page lists REST, SOAP, JMS messaging, file import and export in CSV, XML and Excel, and Java extensibility. Offices are listed in Fort Lauderdale and Paris. The demo form is the only commercial route shown.

What stands out
  • Formerly TIBCO EBX
  • One data model
  • On-prem or cloud
Where it costs you
  • Demo and brochure forms are the only commercial routes shown.
  • The model-driven design means a team has to define its data model before value shows, which adds upfront work.
Right for

Enterprises with complex hierarchies wanting a hub on-premises or hybrid

Wrong for

Groups needing a hub live within weeks without a design phase

United StatesDemo request first; no price page found

#11 Informatica IDMC (Salesforce)

Consumption-priced MDM module inside a broad data suite

Ranked #11 of 11 in Best Master Data Management Software in 2026.

Pricing on requestNorth America

Informatica now trades as Informatica from Salesforce, and its MDM page lists MDM and 360 Applications among the cloud services of the platform. Pricing is consumption-based through IPUs that unlock eligible services, with volume bands and a get-quote step.

The page describes headless MDM reachable through APIs and MCP servers, plus AI-driven match and merge. Headquarters are in Redwood City. In this ranking it fits suite buyers more than hub-only shoppers.

What stands out
  • Owned by Salesforce
  • IPU consumption
  • MDM and 360 apps
Where it costs you
  • Spend is counted in Informatica Processing Units shared across services, so the MDM share of the bill is hard to isolate.
  • MDM and 360 Applications is one item among many cloud services, and the pricing page ends in a quote button with no amounts.
Right for

Companies already running other Informatica cloud services who want one pool of units

Wrong for

Buyers wanting a stand-alone hub with a simple, single-product price

United StatesConsumption units (IPUs) with a quote step; MDM sold as one service in the cloud

How to choose master data management software

Master data management software matches duplicate records across systems, merges them into a golden record under survivorship rules, lets stewards govern changes, and publishes the result back to operational systems. Feature lists look alike, so we would settle these points one at a time instead.

  1. 01

    Check who publishes a price

Prices are public at 3 products (CluedIn, AtroCore, Pimcore) and on request at the remaining 8, so budget time for quotes if your favourite is in that second group.

  2. 02

Ask which country the contract runs through

The vendors on this page are based in 4 countries (North America 7, Europe 4). The country of the contracting company sets which authorities can ask it for your data, whatever the hosting region.

  3. 03

    Check the open source options

Open source here means Pimcore. The price of self-hosting is the time your team spends maintaining it.

Master data management software: what the invoice counts

The unit on the bill decides how a hub grows. CluedIn charges per processed record and per AI credit, with unlimited users, and counts a record once for each source system it came from. Tamr prices the output instead: golden records, counted as Tamr IDs, with each data product priced independently. Profisee bills total data volume across unlimited domains, while Informatica spends from a shared pool of IPUs that also pays for its other services.

Pimcore sells yearly editions, and AtroCore lists monthly hosting and support packages. Run your real counts through each model: raw source rows, expected golden records, domains in year two. A firm with heavy duplication can look cheap on an output price and expensive on an input price, and the reverse holds for a clean estate.

  • Count source records and expected golden records separately
  • Ask what a second and third domain add to the bill
  • Check whether AI or consumption credits are billed on top

Where the hub runs: SaaS, your cloud or your data centre

Hosting is the question that removes vendors fastest, so ask it before anything else. Reltio describes a platform born in the cloud, and Syndigo calls its MDM cloud-native SaaS; neither page shows a self-run option. Profisee lists SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, hybrid and on-premises, ON EBX lists on-premises, hybrid and cloud, and Semarchy adds deployment inside Snowflake. AtroCore can be self-hosted from its GPL source or bought hosted, and Pimcore offers a managed PaaS or on-premises editions.

CluedIn runs multi-tenant SaaS, with a dedicated cluster only at Enterprise level. Settle where records may physically sit before comparing features, because a regulator, a warehouse standard or a latency requirement can end a shortlist before demos begin. Write that constraint into the request for proposal so nobody spends a month on a product that cannot comply.

  • Write down where master records may be stored
  • Ask whether the on-premises or hybrid option gets the same features
  • Confirm who patches and upgrades a self-run hub

Which domain you master first changes the shortlist

Hubs lean toward the data they grew up with. Stibo Systems packages a separate cloud for each domain it covers, from product to supplier to location. Syndigo and Pimcore both sit beside product content, which helps a brand publishing to retailers and adds little to a bank matching individuals. Tamr and Reltio centre their pages on entity resolution, the matching step that decides whether two records are one person or company.

ON EBX keeps hierarchies and reference data in one model, which matters for charts of accounts and product trees. Pick the first domain, then ask each vendor to show matching and survivorship on a sample of your own messy records, not a prepared demo set, and note how many rules a steward must tune by hand.

  • Name the first domain and the one that follows it
  • Bring a sample of real duplicates to the demo
  • Ask how matching rules are tuned and who owns them

Proving a hub before committing to a programme

Few markets are as hard to test as this one. Most vendors on this list offer a demo request and little else: Reltio, Stibo Systems, Syndigo, ON EBX and Informatica show no price on the pages we read. Others let you load data first.

CluedIn's first 15,000 records cost nothing and need no card, Semarchy advertises a trial, AtroCore's GPL edition can be installed without a contract, and Pimcore's Community Edition is available under its licence terms. Use whichever route exists to take one domain from loading records to publishing a golden record downstream. Then ask the demo-only vendors for a paid proof of concept with a fixed price, a fixed record count and an exit clause.

  • Load and publish one domain before signing
  • For demo-only vendors, price a fixed proof of concept
  • Check how golden records and history are exported on exit

What goes wrong most often when buying master data management software

  • Buying a hub for every domain at once, then finding that the second and third each carry a separate price or a separate project.
  • Comparing vendors on feature lists while leaving the matching test on your own duplicate records until after signature.
  • Counting only golden records when the model bills source records, so the same customer in three systems is billed three times.
  • Assuming a free community or trial tier covers production, when its licence may limit use by revenue, purpose or record count.

Frequently asked questions

8 answers
What is the best master data management software in 2026?

CluedIn leads our ranking of 11. CluedIn lists its rates openly: Essential, Pro and Elite each charge per processed record plus AI credit, and every plan includes unlimited users.

A free environment with 15,000 records needs no card, so a team can load real data before talking to sales. The catch is that a record counts once per source, so two systems holding one customer bill twice, and the site frames the product around Microsoft services.

Which master data management tools publish their pricing?

3 of the 11, with the pricing model each one publishes:

  • CluedIn: Free first 15,000 records; published per-record plans on three tiers, unlimited users.
  • AtroCore: Free GPL edition; published monthly hosting and support packages, premium modules extra.
  • Pimcore: Free Community Edition under POCL; published on-premises edition prices; PaaS quoted.

The other 8 quote per organisation.

Is there a free master data management tool?

CluedIn, AtroCore, Pimcore can be used for free, either as a free plan or a self-hosted edition.

Where are these master data management software vendors established?

In 4 countries across 2 regions: North America 7, Europe 4.

  • CluedIn: Denmark.
  • AtroCore: Germany.
  • Profisee: United States.
  • Semarchy: United States.
  • Reltio: United States.
  • Tamr: United States.
  • Pimcore: Austria.
  • Stibo Systems: Denmark.
  • Syndigo: United States.
  • ON EBX: United States.
  • Informatica IDMC (Salesforce): United States.
Which master data management tools are open source?

Pimcore.

Which master data management tools can you host yourself?

AtroCore, Profisee, Semarchy, Pimcore, ON EBX. The other 6 are hosted by the vendor only.

What should you use instead of CluedIn?

AtroCore and Profisee are the next two on this page. AtroCore is for Technical teams wanting source access and monthly prices for a hub; Profisee is for Mid-to-large teams on Microsoft stacks wanting several domains under one volume price.

Who should not buy CluedIn?

Estates where hub and data must stay on-premises. A record is billable once per source system, so a customer held in a CRM and an ERP counts as two..
