Flodesk vs SendFox
These two email tools charge for growth in opposite ways. Flodesk prices by subscriber count with no per-send charge, and moves you up from Free to Lite, Pro and Everything as features and seats are needed. SendFox offers a free tier of 1,000 contacts, a one-off Lifetime plan with a fixed pool of 300,000 sends, and a monthly Pro plan. The choice depends on whether you send often to a growing list, or rarely and want to pay once.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
you send often, care about email design, and want unlimited sends at a price that follows subscriber count. You also plan to sell through checkout, subscriptions or payment plans on the top plan.
you mail rarely and like paying once for a fixed pool of sends, or you want a small free tier to start. You accept that a weekly send to thousands of contacts would use the Lifetime pool up quickly.

Where they differ

A pool of 300,000 sends
SendFox's Lifetime plan is a single payment for 5,000 contacts and 300,000 sends in total, not per month. Each email to each contact counts, so one send to 5,000 contacts uses 5,000 sends. A weekly newsletter to that full list would drain the pool in roughly a year. Flodesk has no such meter, because its plans give unlimited sends and charge by subscriber count instead.

What the free tiers allow
SendFox's free tier covers 1,000 contacts and 3,000 sends a month, with one Smart Page, one form and one automation. Flodesk also has a Free plan, but the pages we read tie its paid levels to subscriber count and leave out the free limits that SendFox spells out. If you want a free start with clearly stated ceilings, SendFox is easier to judge.

- 03
Automations step by step
Flodesk's Lite plan allows one workflow, and the pricing page calls that a limited-time bonus. Pro adds unlimited workflows and advanced analytics. SendFox's free tier has one automation, while the Lifetime plan lists unlimited automations and Smart Pages. For someone who wants many automated sequences without a monthly bill, SendFox Lifetime is the cheaper route to unlimited ones.

The ceiling on Lite and the seat count
Flodesk Lite stops at 25,000 subscribers and includes one seat. Pro raises the seat count to two, and Everything gives three. That matters for a team editing newsletters together. SendFox scales its monthly Pro plan to 250,000 contacts, but no seat count appears for SendFox in the pages we read.

Selling from inside the email tool
Flodesk's Everything plan includes unlimited integrated checkouts, sales pages, subscriptions and payment plans. SendFox handles paid newsletters through Stripe, and only on the monthly Pro plan, which also adds white label sending and the full HTML editor. Flodesk keeps selling on its top plan. SendFox puts it on its subscription route instead, away from the one-off Lifetime payment.

Leaving, and who owns the product
Flodesk lists CSV data exports under every plan it compares, which makes moving a list out straightforward, and its footer names Flodesk Inc. with no country of establishment on the home page. SendFox calls itself an AppSumo Original, and its privacy policy names Sumo Group Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as SendFox in Austin, Texas. Ownership is clearer at SendFox.
Edge: SendFox
When neither fits
If you want a full publication with a website and paid reader tiers, look at Ghost or Beehiiv. For a plain low-cost email list with generous free limits, MailerLite is worth a comparison too.
Flodesk or SendFox: questions
3 answersHow fast does the SendFox Lifetime pool run out?
The pool is 300,000 sends in total, and each send to each contact is deducted. A list of 5,000 uses 5,000 sends per email, so a weekly newsletter lasts about a year. A smaller list stretches it much longer.
Does Flodesk charge for each email sent?
No. The pricing page lists unlimited sends on Lite and the price depends on subscriber count instead. That means your bill grows when the list grows, not when you mail more often.
Which of the two lets me sell products directly?
Flodesk does so on its Everything plan, with checkouts, sales pages, subscriptions and payment plans. SendFox offers paid newsletters via Stripe on its monthly Pro plan. Neither is available on the entry free tiers.
