Salesforce Account Engagement alternatives: 11 marketing automation tools compared

Pardot was renamed Salesforce Account Engagement and today sits inside Salesforce's Marketing Cloud pricing as the Growth+, Plus+, Advanced+ and Premium+ editions. People looking for a replacement are usually a Salesforce admin who owns a tool they did not choose, or a marketing lead who has seen what the higher editions cost. They move to a CRM-agnostic platform, a contact-priced suite, a European vendor or open source.

Short answer: Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. For Salesforce Account Engagement users, the top three picks from our marketing automation ranking are HubSpot Marketing Hub, Act-On and Adobe Marketo Engage. Pick HubSpot Marketing Hub if you want marketing and sales on one database and a price that starts below four figures. The 11 entries that follow are all ranked in Best Marketing Automation Software in 2026; each one explains what sets it apart from Salesforce Account Engagement.

Paid placement exists here, but it does not alter our verdicts. Read how it is kept apart.

Salesforce Account Engagement

#13 of 16 in our marketing automation ranking

  • Pricing: Growth+ $1,250, Plus+ $2,750, Advanced+ $4,400, Premium+ $15,000 per org per month, annual contract
  • Established in: United States
  • Built for: Companies where Salesforce is the CRM and sales works inside it
  • Not for: Teams on another CRM or with a low monthly marketing budget
01

Why buyers look past Salesforce Account Engagement

  1. 01

Four editions, each a step up in cost

Salesforce lists Growth+ at €1,250 per organisation per month, Plus+ at €2,750, Advanced+ at €4,400 and Premium+ at €15,000, all on an annual contract. The jump from the second to the fourth edition is more than five times the monthly bill, and the features that decide the choice (account-based marketing, business units, sandboxes) are spread across those steps.

  2. 02

Limits that show up after go-live

The pricing page caps automation rules at 50 on the entry edition and 150 on the top two, and lists 50 forms, form handlers and landing pages on Growth+. Contacts come in blocks, with 10,000 included on the first three editions and extra blocks at $100 per 10,000 a month. Teams that outgrow a cap start comparing.

  3. 03

Add-ons that change the real price

Salesforce shows dedicated IP addresses at $500 a month, advanced dynamic content at $400 a month, Sales Emails and Alerts at $50 per user a month and SMS credits from $10 per 1,000. A quote that began at the edition price tends to grow once deliverability, personalisation and sales-rep tooling are added.

What each one does differently

HubSpot Marketing Hub

United States · Published

HubSpot publishes a free tier and lists Professional from $890 a month with three seats and Enterprise from $3,600 with five, against Salesforce's edition ladder that starts at €1,250. Its page describes a two-way sync with Salesforce, so a migration can be staged. Contact-tier and onboarding costs were not on the page we read.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if you want marketing and sales on one database and a price that starts below four figures.

Act-On

United States · On request

Act-On, in Portland, Oregon, bills for contacts emailed in the last month rather than blocks of 10,000 stored ones, with Professional at $900 a month for 2,500 active contacts. CRM integration (Salesforce, SugarCRM, NetSuite, Dynamics) is an add-on on Professional and standard on Enterprise. It does not bundle a Salesforce-style edition ladder.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if your database is mostly dormant and block pricing makes you pay for contacts you never email.

Adobe Marketo Engage

United States · On request

Adobe Marketo Engage is the enterprise peer most buyers weigh against Account Engagement. Adobe documents Smart Campaigns and CRM synchronisation, and its pages did not show a price list when we looked, so the comparison with Salesforce's published editions starts with a sales call. Expect a comparable setup burden, not a lighter one.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if you want a second enterprise vendor and are not tied to Salesforce as the only CRM.

Oracle Eloqua

United States · On request

Oracle's page describes a Program Canvas, guided campaigns for non-technical marketers and account-level scores handed to Oracle CX Sales. Pricing is by demo request. It targets the same large B2B buyer as Account Engagement Premium+, with Oracle rather than Salesforce as the reference sales stack.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if your sales team is moving to Oracle CX Sales or you need a vendor outside the Salesforce stack.

ActiveCampaign

United States · Published

ActiveCampaign sells Starter, Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans scaled by contact count, with multi-step automation from Starter. Its Enterprise plan lists premium CRM integrations such as Salesforce, SSO and HIPAA support. Prices render client-side, so we could not read figures. Account scoring and a Salesforce-grade admin model are not its focus.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if a small team wants flexible automation and keeps Salesforce only as a connected CRM.

Mautic

Not stated by the vendor · Published

Mautic is open source, so there is no edition ladder, only hosting cost. Its project site lists managed plans through Dropsolid from €247.50 a month (up to 50,000 contacts and 50,000 emails) and from €1,237 on dedicated hosting. You trade Salesforce's native CRM sync for self-administration and the choice of plugins.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if your annual Salesforce bill exceeds what a hosted open source stack plus an engineer would cost.

Brevo

France · Published

Brevo's markdown price file lists Standard at €15 a month and Professional at €499 a month (monthly billing), with the price following email volume instead of contact blocks. Unlimited multi-step workflows start on Standard, contact scoring on Professional. It is a French company with email, SMS and WhatsApp. It has no account-based marketing module.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if you send more than your contact count suggests and want to pay by volume instead of by contact block.

GetResponse

Poland · Published

GetResponse, from Poland, lists Starter at €16, Marketer at €54 and Creator at €62 a month on monthly billing, with unlimited sends. Contact scoring and unlimited automation sit on Marketer. Webinars and a course creator come with Creator. It is built for lead generation by small businesses, not for Salesforce-synced sales cycles.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if webinars feed your pipeline and your lead volume does not need an account-level model.

Manago AI (formerly SALESmanago)

Poland · On request

Manago AI, formerly SALESmanago, is Polish. Its pricing builder starts at 3,000 active contacts with unlimited email sending, a customer data profile and conversational AI in the package, and a 50% discount on the first two months until 31 December 2026. Its pages centre on commerce journeys and personalisation rather than B2B lead handoff.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if your audience is mostly consumers and you want the customer profile, not the CRM, to drive campaigns.

Copernica

Netherlands · On request

Copernica is an Amsterdam company whose Marketing Suite is priced from €99 a month and then tailored to usage, quoted on request. It runs email, SMS and push from a layered database, and its site states that customer data is kept in Europe. There is no account-based marketing or Salesforce-native editions model.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if a European host and a low entry price matter more than an enterprise B2B feature set.

e-goi

Portugal · Published

E-goi, from Portugal, lists a free plan for up to 5,001 contacts, Base from €8.92 and Pro from €33.79 a month, plus a prepaid GoSend option with email packs from €6 for 10,000 sends. Full automation and WhatsApp arrive on Pro. It names a Salesforce integration, but has no lead-grading model like Account Engagement's.

Switch from Salesforce Account Engagement if you need to cut the bill sharply and can live with lighter B2B scoring.

When Salesforce Account Engagement is still the right choice

Account Engagement remains the sensible choice when Salesforce is the system of record, the sales team works in it daily, and you already employ a Salesforce admin. The native CRM integration, lead scoring and grading, engagement programs and the Marketing Cloud Next access that all four editions now include are things a bolt-on connector reproduces only in part. If your contacts are close to the 10,000 included and your automation count sits under the caps, switching mostly buys a different invoice.

05

What moving off Salesforce Account Engagement involves

  1. 01

Mapping Salesforce fields before anything else

Account Engagement keeps prospects tied to Salesforce leads and contacts, so scores, grades and campaign history exist as fields and activities. Export these first and decide which the new platform will recreate. Rebuilding engagement programs and automation rules by hand is usually the longest part, since no rival imports them directly.

  2. 02

    Domains, sending reputation and forms

Vanity domains, tracker links and forms embedded on your site point at Salesforce today. Plan to run both platforms side by side, move forms and tracking scripts in stages, and warm up any new sending domain, because a dedicated IP at $500 a month on your current plan does not transfer with the contact data.

  3. 03

    Contract timing

Salesforce states that its per-month products require an annual contract, so the cheapest moment to leave is the renewal date. Give yourself time for a parallel run before then, and check what the notice period in your own order form says.

Questions about replacing Salesforce Account Engagement

6 answers
Is Pardot the same product as Salesforce Account Engagement?

Yes. Salesforce's pricing page is titled Marketing Cloud Account Engagement and the page for the product is the one many buyers still search for as Pardot. The editions are now Growth+, Plus+, Advanced+ and Premium+.

What does Account Engagement cost?

Salesforce lists €1,250, €2,750, €4,400 and €15,000 per organisation per month for the four editions, billed annually. The page also shows $100 for each extra block of 10,000 contacts and other add-ons. Salesforce says to contact a sales representative for detailed pricing.

How many contacts are included?

The page lists 10,000 contacts on each of the first three editions and 75,000 on Premium+. Additional contacts are sold in blocks of 10,000 at $100 a month.

Which alternative works best if we stay on Salesforce CRM?

Act-On lists Salesforce among its CRM integrations, HubSpot's page describes a two-way Salesforce sync, and ActiveCampaign puts premium Salesforce integration on its Enterprise plan. Mautic and the European suites can connect through their own integrations, which you should test against your field model.

Can a smaller company afford an alternative on a four-figure budget?

Yes. Several rivals here publish figures far below €1,250 a month: GetResponse from €16, Brevo Standard at €15, E-goi from €8.92 and a free E-goi plan, with Mautic as free software. Depth of lead scoring and CRM sync is what you give up.

Is there a European option?

Brevo (France), GetResponse and Manago AI (Poland), Copernica (Netherlands) and E-goi (Portugal) are all based in Europe by their own sites. Copernica states that customer data stays in Europe.
