BrightLocal alternatives: 11 local SEO tools compared
Teams look beyond BrightLocal when the per-location bill starts to dominate, when they only need one job done such as map-grid scans or review requests, or when they want a vendor that names its country and owner. The usual destinations are a cheaper rank tracker, a reputation tool priced per site, or an enterprise listings platform for large estates.
Short answer: Looking for a replacement for BrightLocal? Localo, Grid My Business and Local Falcon come first in our local SEO tool ranking. Where a category has smaller vendors worth recommending, they occupy the first three places and the big brands come below them. Start with Localo if you run a handful of profiles and want a Polish-registered vendor with a card-free 14-day trial. The 11 entries that follow are all ranked in Best Local SEO Tools in 2026; each one explains what sets it apart from BrightLocal.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
Pricing: Published plans per location, billed monthly or annually; 14-day trial
Established in: United Kingdom
Built for: Agencies and multi-location owners wanting rank, citation and review tracking in one tool
Not for: Buyers who want to pay once without a per-location meter
01
Why buyers look past BrightLocal
01
The bill grows with every location
BrightLocal prices each plan by location band. On annual billing the Track plan costs 31 dollars a month for one location, 62 for six to ten and 393 for 91 to 100, with a quote above 100. Manage and Grow climb the same way, so an agency or chain pays far more at the top of each band.
02
Reviews and syncing sit on higher plans
Track covers rank monitoring, geo-grid maps for up to five keywords, citation accuracy checks and profile audits. Active Sync and post scheduling start at Manage, and review monitoring, review requests by email or SMS and in-store campaigns only arrive at Grow. A team that mainly wants review work must buy the top tier.
03
Some work is billed outside the plan
Citation Builder is pay-as-you-go, from 3.20 dollars a site or 2 dollars with bulk credits. The plan page also lists white-labelling, API access and an agency lead tool without making clear which tier holds them, so agencies should ask before they commit. Plans cannot be bought feature by feature; only a custom plan does that.

Localo
Poland · Published
Localo comes from a Wroclaw company, LOCALO SP. Z O.O., and publishes two annual plans: one for a single Business Profile, one for many, with a custom tier above. Position tracking, audit fixes, a review manager and scheduled Google Posts sit on its home page. The Pro profile limit is worded inconsistently on its pricing page.
Switch from BrightLocal if you run a handful of profiles and want a Polish-registered vendor with a card-free 14-day trial.
Grid My Business starts with a free tier of two profiles and 250 scan credits a month, then three paid plans with annual discounts and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It covers geo-grid ranks, AI visibility, review replies, posts and white-label reports. Its terms name Plentisoft Sdn Bhd but give no address, so check the contracting entity.
Switch from BrightLocal if you mainly want map-grid scans and want to try them at no cost first.
Local Falcon meters by credit: a scan spends one credit per grid point, and keywords and locations are unlimited on all plans. Accounts begin with 100 credits and no card. It scans Google and Apple Maps and adds an AI visibility check. The vendor does not state its country, and big grids use credits quickly.
Switch from BrightLocal if grid scans on both Google and Apple Maps are the part of BrightLocal you use most.
Whitespark, which says it started in Edmonton in 2005, sells each tool separately: a per-location platform, ranking grids reaching 225 points, a rank tracker, a citation finder and Reputation Builder. Listing work can be bought as one-time packages. Separate products make a full set add up, and testing comes after payment.
Switch from BrightLocal if you want to pay only for citations or rank grids and keep the rest out of the bill.
Synup sets four monthly plans by location count, from one site to fifty, with custom terms past that. Its home page names listings sync, review monitoring and a check of how AI answer engines describe a business. The 14-day trial covers the entry plan only, and the jump from one location to ten is steep.
Switch from BrightLocal if you manage listings and reviews for a small chain and count by sites.
Local Viking centres on scheduled Google Posts, a GeoGrid ranking view and listing management across locations, with white-label reports and a managed-service arm. Its pricing link led to an app domain where we read no plans, and the owner is not named. Ask for written terms before relying on it.
Switch from BrightLocal if regular Google Posts for many profiles matter more than deep citation audits.
GatherUp prices reputation work per location on annual plans, the first covering one business with unlimited users and monthly caps on SMS and email requests. Review Defense and Listings Management are add-ons. Its about page says Insight Integrity Group bought it in 2025, so it is no longer independent.
Switch from BrightLocal if review requests are the whole reason you pay and you can live without rank grids.
Uberall is the Berlin company uberall GmbH and stacks Show Up for listings, Stand Out with reviews and Connect with local social and Google and Apple posting. No plan shows a price and no trial is named. Its pricing page lists no geo-grid, so rank tracking needs a second product.
Switch from BrightLocal if you need listings across many countries and accept a sales conversation.
Chatmeter writes a proposal after a short form, billed per location with unlimited users, and sizes enquiries from one to four locations up to 500 or more. Its site says it now belongs to Alchemer. No trial is mentioned, which makes it an awkward fit for a single site.
Switch from BrightLocal if you oversee hundreds of locations and want reputation data under one contract.
Rio SEO targets companies with many sites, covering listings, local landing pages, reviews and customer feedback. Its pages show buttons for a demo and a local audit but no plans or prices. Legal links lead to a Forsta domain, though the vendor names no parent company.
Switch from BrightLocal if local landing pages for a large estate matter as much as listings.
Yext runs a Knowledge Graph behind location finders, site search and help-centre search, and reports unanswered customer questions. Pages show a demo button and no prices. Results lean on content hosted in Yext Pages, which ties you to its platform, and small firms wanting rank tracking get little from it.
Switch from BrightLocal if you are an enterprise that wants one structured data source feeding search and listings.
You want to try map-grid scans without paying first
Grid My Business: It lists a free tier with two profiles and 250 scan credits a month, plus white-label reports on paid plans.
02
You want a vendor based in the EU
Localo: LOCALO SP. Z O.O. is in Wroclaw, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
03
You pay for scans per grid point and want Apple Maps too
Local Falcon: Each grid point uses one credit, keywords and locations are unlimited, and 100 credits come free at sign-up.
04
You only need citations and want to buy by the product
Whitespark: Products are priced separately, with one-time listing packages for citation work.
05
You run a small chain and count by sites
Synup: Monthly plans run from one to fifty locations, with custom terms beyond that.
04
When BrightLocal is still the right choice
BrightLocal remains a sound choice for a business or small agency that wants rank monitoring, geo-grid maps, citation checks and profile audits under one login, with prices published for every band up to 100 locations. The 14-day trial gives full access without a card, and the grid supports sizes from 3 by 3 to 15 by 15. If you only need the Track plan for a few sites, the bill stays modest, so compare before moving.
05
What moving off BrightLocal involves
01
Rankings history will not travel
Past rank and grid data stay in BrightLocal, and after cancelling you can still view reports but not refresh them. Export what you need before you switch, and expect the new tool to start a fresh baseline, since grid sizes and point spacing differ between vendors.
02
Citations and review links need a plan
Check which listings were built through Citation Builder and which were built by hand, and confirm that no review-request links in emails or in-store material still point at the old campaign. Run the old and new tools side by side for a month before you cancel.

Questions about replacing BrightLocal
6 answers
What does BrightLocal cost?
On annual billing, one location costs 31 dollars a month on Track, 40 on Manage and 49 on Grow. Monthly billing costs 41, 54 and 65. Bands for more locations raise the price, and above 100 locations BrightLocal quotes privately.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. BrightLocal offers 14 days of full access with no card. Afterwards you can still log in and view data, but you cannot run new reports until you activate a plan.
Which plan includes review requests?
Grow does. It adds review monitoring and responses, plus requests by email, SMS and in-store campaigns. Track and Manage focus on rankings, audits, syncing and posts.
Which alternative has a free tier?
Grid My Business lists a free tier with two profiles and 250 scan credits a month. Local Falcon gives 100 credits at sign-up, and Localo offers a 14-day trial without a card.
Which options suit big multi-location brands?
Uberall, Chatmeter, Rio SEO and Yext sell through sales conversations rather than published prices, so expect proposals and demos. Synup publishes plans up to fifty locations.
Does BrightLocal track AI answers?
Its Track plan lists a Local AI Visibility Tracker, and its grid page says this shows how businesses appear in ChatGPT and Google's AI. Local Falcon, Grid My Business and Synup also describe AI visibility features.
