Envato Elements alternatives: 11 stock photo sites tools compared
Envato Elements bundles photos with video, music, fonts, templates and AI credits in one subscription. Buyers who only want pictures, or who dislike registering a licence per project, look elsewhere. The alternatives below include photo agencies, free libraries, video-first services and credit-based shops, ordered from the smaller independent vendors to the large groups.
Short answer: The first three alternatives to Envato Elements in our stock photo sites ranking are Alamy, Storyblocks and Vecteezy. Our rule for order: vendors outside the big brands go first, and the largest names are not placed in the top three. Choose Alamy if you mostly need photographs and want a pack that a whole team can draw on. These 11 products are all in Best Stock Photo Sites in 2026; the notes say how each one compares with Envato Elements.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
Pricing: Published subscriptions, monthly or annual, with unlimited downloads under a fair use policy
Established in: Australia
Built for: Studios and marketers who also need video, music and templates, not only photos
Not for: Buyers who only want a handful of photos a year

Why buyers look past Envato Elements
01
You pay for a bundle even if you only need photos
Envato's pricing page lists Core at €14.50 a month billed annually (€29 monthly), Plus at €33 (€49 monthly) and Ultimate at €145 (€225 monthly), all excluding local tax. Every plan includes video, music, fonts, templates and 3D along with stock photos. A team that downloads a handful of photographs a month is paying for a catalogue of more than 30 million assets it will not open.
02
Each download is a licence for one project
The pricing page says each download gives an ongoing licence for a single, specific project, and that the item needs a new licence for each separate project. Items cannot be resold, redistributed or merchandised without adding value. An agency running many client jobs therefore has to register every use, which is bookkeeping a free library or an image pack does not ask for.
03
Cancelling does not return money, and use is policed
Envato states that cancelled subscriptions are not refunded; access runs to the end of the paid period. The subscription is for an individual or a set number of people on Team or Enterprise accounts, and its Fair Use Policy rules out account sharing and high download bursts. Past 50 employees, the page sends you to Enterprise and a sales contact.

Alamy sells creative images in monthly packs of 15, 25 or 50 downloads, and each pack can be used by any number of colleagues. Unused downloads carry over for one month only. Editorial pictures are priced outside the packs. Photo agencies of this type give you a bigger image catalogue than a bundle does, without charging per seat. PA Media Group has owned it since 2020.
Switch from Envato Elements if you mostly need photographs and want a pack that a whole team can draw on.
Storyblocks puts footage first and adds photos, vectors and music to the same subscription. Three published plans run from €18 to €35 a month billed annually, each for one user. Indemnification of one million dollars is listed only on the quoted Business plan, so a team that wants that cover has to ask for a price.
Switch from Envato Elements if your work is mostly video and one person per seat is fine.
Vecteezy leans on vectors and illustrations as much as photos. Free files may be used commercially only with credit to the creator, and print runs on the free licence stop at 50 copies. Pro licences drop the credit rule and scale with the number of users. Eezy, LLC in Kentucky runs it.
Switch from Envato Elements if you want to try a free tier first and need vector artwork next to photos.
Depositphotos sells a monthly unlimited image plan at €25 that can be cancelled at any time, an annual plan, and prepaid packs of 3 to 100 downloads valid for a year. The page we read says the lifetime usage rights apply to downloaded files, and mentions unlimited AI image generation in the unlimited plans.
Switch from Envato Elements if you want to pay month to month for images only, or buy a few prepaid downloads.
Freepik now trades as Magnific from Spain and prices around AI credits that last a year. Free users must credit the site; paid tiers remove that duty. Its terms bar using content or metadata to train AI models, and merchandise use is limited to the Pro tier. Read the credit arithmetic before you compare totals.
Switch from Envato Elements if you are in the EU and want a subscription that includes AI generation credits.
123RF prices by credit: ten credits for a standard image, sixty for an extended licence. Its pages describe unlimited downloads under a standard licence, with print runs capped at 500,000 and retail products excluded. We could not read subscription prices or a stated country, so budgeting means opening an account first.
Switch from Envato Elements if you prefer to buy credits per file and the print-run cap suits your jobs.
Pexels runs a free library of photos and video under a short licence that asks for no credit. Nobody indemnifies you, identifiable people must not be shown in a bad light, and unaltered copies cannot be sold. Canva Germany GmbH operates it, so the terms rest with a company you do not control.
Switch from Envato Elements if your budget for images is zero and you can live without legal cover.
Pixabay gathers photos, vectors, video, music and sound effects under one licence that needs no attribution. Content showing recognisable logos cannot be used commercially, and standalone resale is barred. It is a Canva Germany brand. We saw no paid tier on the pages we checked.
Switch from Envato Elements if you want free photos plus free music and sound effects in one place.
Unsplash gives its library away for commercial use with no credit or permission. The paid Unsplash+ upgrade adds legal protection but is a single-user licence that may not sit in a shared asset library. The free tier forbids selling unmodified images or building a rival service from them. It is run from Calgary.
Switch from Envato Elements if you want editorial-looking free photography and work alone.
iStock splits content into Basis and Premium collections, and Premium photos cost three credits against one. An extended licence is needed above 500,000 prints or for resale. Annual plans cannot be cancelled before term end and refunds are excluded unless local law requires them. It carries the Getty brand and offers a free photo each week.
Switch from Envato Elements if you want a mainstream agency catalogue and accept the cancellation terms.
Getty Images covers royalty-free creative work, a large editorial archive, Premium Access and commissioned shoots. None of the pages we could open showed a price, so budgeting means contacting sales. It is where news and archive material sits, and the opposite of a posted monthly fee.
Switch from Envato Elements if you need news, archive or editorial pictures and will negotiate a price.
You mostly need photographs and your whole team shares them
Alamy: Packs of 15, 25 or 50 downloads can be used by any number of colleagues, and unused downloads carry over for one month.
02
You work mainly in video and want one named seat
Storyblocks: Published plans run from €18 to €35 a month billed annually, each for one user, with photos, vectors and music in the same subscription.
03
You want to pay month to month for images only
Depositphotos: The monthly unlimited image plan is €25 and can be cancelled at any time, with prepaid packs as a second option.
04
You want free photos and free music in one place
Pixabay: One licence covers photos, vectors, video, music and sound effects without attribution, but recognisable logos are excluded from commercial use.
05
You need news or archive pictures and can negotiate
Getty Images: It holds a large editorial archive; the pages we could open showed no prices, so expect to talk to sales.
04
When Envato Elements is still the right choice
Envato Elements stays sensible for a designer or small studio that really uses video templates, music, fonts and mockups next to photos. One fee covers unlimited downloads of the stock catalogue under its Fair Use Policy, and the pricing page says licensed uses stay covered after you unsubscribe. At €14.50 a month billed annually, that is hard to match when you would otherwise buy several separate services.
05
What moving off Envato Elements involves
01
Licensed projects do not follow you
Envato says completed projects remain covered after cancellation, so there is no need to remove old work. For future work, download the assets you still need before the term ends and keep the list of items and projects they were licensed for. A new vendor starts with its own licence terms.
02
Check what replaces fonts, music and templates
If you leave because of the bundle, list which non-photo asset types your team used in the last quarter. A photo-only service will not carry fonts, templates or music, and a free library may have none of them. Decide where each comes from before the subscription ends.
03
Time the exit to your billing period
Cancellation keeps access until the next payment date, and annual plans are not refunded. Cancel just after a renewal on a monthly plan, or well before one on an annual plan, and use the remaining access for a final download round.

Questions about replacing Envato Elements
6 answers
What does Envato Elements cost?
The pricing page we read lists Core at €14.50 a month billed annually or €29 billed monthly, Plus at €33 or €49, and Ultimate at €145 or €225. Prices are in euros and exclude local tax. Enterprise is priced through sales.
Are the downloads really unlimited?
The page says stock downloads are unlimited subject to the Fair Use Policy, which forbids scripts or bots for mass downloading and account sharing. AI credits are limited: 20 a month on Core, 200 on Plus and 1,000 on the Ultimate level shown.
Can I use Envato photos for client work?
The pricing page says the licence covers commercial use including client work, with one licence per specific project. Resale, redistribution and merchandise without added value are excluded.
Do I get a refund if I cancel?
No. The page says cancelled subscriptions are not refunded, though you keep access until the paid period ends.
Which alternative gives the most photographs per euro?
That depends on volume. A pack from Alamy suits steady use, a monthly image plan suits bursts, and free libraries cost nothing but carry weaker legal cover. Compare the figures on each vendor's page against your own download count.
Is there a team plan?
Envato's page mentions a Team option with shared access and up to 34% off compared with individual plans, and Enterprise for organisations with more than 50 employees. We did not see Team prices on the page we read.
