TeamViewer vs Splashtop

Both are commercial remote access products on annual billing. TeamViewer licenses only the expert and runs on yearly auto-renewing terms with enterprise pricing by quote. Splashtop prints per-user prices for access and sells support separately per concurrent technician.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say about a product. How that works.

Where they differ

TeamViewer 2 · Splashtop 1 · open 2
  1. 01

    Published prices

Splashtop's page shows Solo at $6 a month, Pro at $8.25 and Performance at $13 per user, with annual billing. The TeamViewer pricing overview we reached showed no figures and pointed to a sales contact. For checking a price quickly, Splashtop is clearer.

  2. 02

    How the licence is counted

TeamViewer needs a paid licence only for the expert, not for the person being helped. Splashtop splits access, priced per user, from remote support, which starts at $22 a month per concurrent technician. Both are workable, but Splashtop is the more awkward to compare.

    Depends on the buyer

  3. 03

    Contract and renewal

TeamViewer subscriptions are annual and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 28 days before the term ends. Splashtop's access plans are annual too, and it offers a free trial rather than a permanent free plan. Neither suits a buyer who wants monthly flexibility.

    Depends on the buyer

  4. 04

    Features by plan

Splashtop adds session recording and multi-monitor on Pro, and SSO only in Enterprise. TeamViewer sells add-ons such as device management, endpoint security and monitoring, each with a 30-day trial. TeamViewer has the wider platform; Splashtop has the narrower one.

    Edge: TeamViewer

  5. 05

    Where the vendor is based

TeamViewer is listed in Germany and Splashtop in the United States. This matters for buyers with data-location or procurement rules, and it favours TeamViewer.

03

When neither fits

If you want a permanently free or self-hosted option, neither fits. RustDesk is open-source and leads our remote desktop ranking, and NoMachine is another route without a per-seat contract.
