NinjaOne vs Datto RMM

Neither vendor hands you a full price list, but NinjaOne at least prints a per-device range, from $3.75 down to $1.50 USD a month as endpoint counts climb, and offers a stated 14-day trial. Datto RMM shows only a Request Pricing button, and its trial option carries no length. The other split is ownership: Datto says Kaseya acquired it in 2022, while NinjaOne presents itself as a single company with backup, MDM and remote access beside RMM. Datto, in turn, documents where its data sits, in Ireland, the United States and Sydney.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Where they differ

  1. 01

A range on paper versus a button

NinjaOne's pricing page and its FAQ give a per-device figure that starts at $3.75 USD a month for 50 or fewer endpoints and falls to $1.50 USD at 10,000, billed monthly or annually, varying by region and products bought. Datto's RMM page names no plan, no number and no billing basis, only a Request Pricing button. For first-pass budgeting, NinjaOne gives you a ballpark and Datto gives you a sales call.

    Edge: NinjaOne

  2. 02

    Trying it before you commit

NinjaOne's pricing page offers a Try NinjaOne Free button and states 14 days, together with free onboarding and training and a vendor claim that most users are fully operational within a week. Datto's product page offers a Request A Trial option, yet no trial length or terms appear there, and a second page we checked does not mention a trial at all. A stated length is easier to plan around.

    Edge: NinjaOne

  3. 03

    Where the data physically sits

Datto states that its RMM runs in AWS EC2 data centres across five regional platforms, two in Ireland, two in the United States and one in Sydney, Australia, with no hardware for you to maintain. NinjaOne's site states neither a hosting model nor a headquarters country, though its terms are governed by Texas law with courts in Travis County and its careers page mentions Austin and Berlin offices. Datto is the one that answers the residency question.

  4. 04

What the box does day to day

Datto lists one-click HTML5 remote control, native Microsoft 365 onboarding, offboarding and quarantine, automated patching, built-in ransomware detection and network topology maps, with scripts, policies, webhooks and auto-response for automation. NinjaOne's navigation lists endpoint management, remote access, autonomous patching, backup, vulnerability management, endpoint security, MDM, IT asset management and browser management. Datto describes the RMM in more detail, while NinjaOne spans a wider product shelf.

    Depends on the buyer

  5. 05

Plugging into the rest of your stack

NinjaOne names CrowdStrike, Microsoft Intune, SentinelOne and ServiceNow, plus backup for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and links to a full integrations list. Datto names Autotask PSA, Quote Manager, Datto SIRIS, Datto Networking WiFi and IT Glue, which suits a buyer already inside the Datto family. Security and ticketing buyers lean to NinjaOne's list, and PSA-centred MSPs lean to Datto's, so this round has no clear winner.

    Depends on the buyer

  6. 06

Who owns the vendor and how you leave

Datto's own history page says Kaseya acquired it in 2022, and Kaseya's contact page lists Datto's Norwalk office beside its Miami headquarters. Kaseya also sells VSA, so one owner holds two RMM products. NinjaOne, LLC states a 60-day cancellation notice for partners who take no promotional commitment, and its modules (backup, MDM, security) are separate products that add line items. Each carries a trade-off; NinjaOne's is simply easier to read.

    Depends on the buyer

03

When neither fits

If you need rates you can read in full, or a vendor with no overlapping sister product, neither page here gives that. Tactical RMM is a self-run alternative, and Level is a smaller vendor worth comparing as a third option.

NinjaOne or Datto RMM: questions

3 answers
Can I get a real NinjaOne figure without calling anyone?

Only a range. The pricing page and its FAQ run from $3.75 USD per device per month at 50 or fewer endpoints to $1.50 USD at 10,000.

The page says full rates are shared through the channel, so your quote may differ by region and products bought.

Does Kaseya owning Datto change what you buy?

Datto states Kaseya acquired it in 2022, and Kaseya sells VSA as well, so one owner now has two RMM products.

Nothing on those pages explains how the two will be positioned over time. If vendor independence matters, ask about the roadmap on your sales call.

Which one tells me where my monitoring data is stored?

Datto does: AWS EC2 data centres in five regional platforms, two in Ireland, two in the US and one in Sydney. NinjaOne's site names no hosting model. Ask NinjaOne for its data residency terms before you sign.
