Guesty vs Hostaway

Guesty shows one starting price and Hostaway shows none. Guesty Lite starts at USD 9 per listing per month for one to three listings with a 14-day trial, while Pro and Enterprise are quoted. Hostaway's pricing page asks for a listing count and prints no plans at all. Ownership differs too: Guesty, Inc. is a Delaware corporation with investors such as Apax and KKR, and Hostaway Opco Oy is organised under the laws of Finland, although the about page names no headquarters.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Where they differ

    A number you can read

Guesty Lite is shown from $9 per listing per month for one to three listings, with monthly or annual billing and annual being cheaper. Pro covers four to 199 listings and Enterprise 200 or more, both without printed prices. Hostaway's pricing page shows a form with bands of 2-14, 15-49 and 50+ listings and no plan names, no currency and no limits. Only Guesty gives a buyer a figure before a call.

    Edge: Guesty

  2. 02

    Trial and testing

Guesty states that Lite has a 14-day free trial and that no free plan is offered. Hostaway mentions no free trial and no free plan, and the pricing page links to Get pricing and Get free demo. A host who wants to click around before talking to anyone can do that at Guesty on Lite. At Hostaway the first step is a demo or a quote.

    Edge: Guesty

  3. 03

Who the product is aimed at

Guesty positions its tiers from small-host Lite up to quoted Pro and Enterprise, and its own fit notes call it heavy for a host with three flats. Hostaway's form starts at two listings and points single-property hosts to a separate link, which signals a portfolio focus. Both are therefore built for operators more than for one-flat owners, and neither claims the light end of the market the way a simple tool would.

    Depends on the buyer

  4. 04

    Distribution and marketplace

All Guesty plans include a channel manager, multi-calendar and unified inbox, and Pro adds revenue management, an owners portal and more channels. Hostaway names a channel manager covering Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Google and Expedia, plus AI CoHost, AI Replies, Dynamic Pricing and an Open API. Its about page also lists a marketplace of over 100 solutions and PCI DSS v4.0.1 Level 1 status. Hostaway publishes the longer feature list.

    Edge: Hostaway

  5. 05

    Add-ons and hidden cost

Guesty lists PriceOptimizer, Damage Protection and LocksManager as separate add-ons with no amounts shown. Hostaway's marketplace of over 100 outside solutions may carry its own subscriptions, which is why the vendor notes suggest asking for the written quote to say which tools cost extra. Both leave a cost gap above the base figure. Guesty at least prints the start of the ladder, so the gap is easier to size there.

    Edge: Guesty

  6. 06

    Corporate base and backers

Guesty's terms say the platform is owned and operated by Guesty, Inc., a Delaware corporation, while the about page says headquarters moved to Tel Aviv in 2014 and lists investors including Apax and KKR. Hostaway says it is privately owned and funded by VCs and entrepreneurs, lists offices from Toronto to Helsinki but names no headquarters, and its terms name Hostaway Opco Oy under Finnish law. Hostaway's contract entity is the European one.

    Edge: Hostaway

When neither fits

If you want a published price for a very small portfolio or a lighter tool, look at Smoobu or Hospitable, both in this category. We have not set out their details on this page, so check their pricing pages before you decide.

Guesty or Hostaway: questions

3 answers
What does a Guesty trial actually cover?

The pricing page says Lite has a 14-day free trial and that there is no free plan. The same page lists Lite for one to three listings. No trial is described for Pro or Enterprise.

Why can you not see a Hostaway price?

The pricing page opens with a listing-count form and lists no plan names, prices, currency or limits. It links to Get pricing and Get free demo instead. The price therefore comes only after you answer the form and talk to sales.

Is Hostaway a Finnish company?

Its terms identify the contracting entity as Hostaway Opco Oy, organised under the laws of Finland. The about page, however, names offices in several countries and no headquarters. Guesty, by comparison, is described in its terms as a Delaware corporation.
