Mindbody alternatives: 11 gym management tools compared

Studio and gym owners look for a Mindbody alternative when the bill is made of several parts: a per-location subscription, a payment processing rate, and a fee on clients that arrive through its marketplace app. Most move to software priced openly by member count, to a specialist for one kind of studio, or to a chain platform when they grow past a single site.

Short answer: The closest replacements for Mindbody in our gym management ranking are TeamUp, Gymdesk and Zen Planner. Choose TeamUp if you want a price that follows your active customers and can leave at any month end. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Gym Management Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Mindbody.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say about a product. How that works.

Mindbody

  • Pricing: Per location per month, from €99 shown; plans quoted; marketplace fee and payments extra

01

Why buyers look past Mindbody

  1. 01

    The price is several prices

Mindbody's pricing page starts at 99 euros a month per location for the Starter plan and quotes the higher tiers separately. Payment processing is a rate plus a fixed fee of $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction, and clients acquired through the Mindbody app carry a 20 percent fee capped at $30. Owners who add these together often want a quote they can read in one line.

  2. 02

    Features are staged by tier

Room and resource management, promo codes and advanced reporting sit on Accelerate, and email and text campaigns, lead management and retention analytics on Ultimate. A studio that needs one feature from a higher tier pays for the rest of that tier too. Alternatives that include everything at one price remove that decision.

  3. 03

Built for the marketplace, not always wanted

Mindbody's parent company is Playlist, its site promotes ClassPass for business, and its pitch includes being discovered by more than 3 million active users of its app. That helps a boutique studio that needs new walk-ins. A gym that fills its classes from its own members gets less from it and still sees the platform priced around it.

Gymdesk prices by active members, from $100 a month for up to 50 to $240 for up to 250, with unlimited staff accounts and all features in every plan. Mindbody stages features by tier. Door access ($100 a month for three doors) and a branded app ($100) are extra.

PushPress

United States · Free tier; paid plans per month, published; payments per transaction

Wodify

United States · Per location per month, published by tier

Wodify is aimed at CrossFit, functional fitness, martial arts and HYROX affiliates, and is priced per location per month (its pricing page shows Essentials from $199, with a promotion). Its centre is workout and performance tracking, which Mindbody treats as secondary.

When Mindbody is still the right choice

Mindbody remains a reasonable choice for studios that want new clients from a marketplace. Its Starter plan includes integrated payments, a website, booking widgets and a listing in the Mindbody app, with unlimited users on every plan. If first-time clients from the app are a meaningful part of your revenue, the capped 20 percent fee can be cheaper than the advertising it replaces.

05

What moving off Mindbody involves

  1. 01

Check the contract before you announce anything

Mindbody states that cancellation may require advance notice depending on your agreement, and terms vary by plan and promotion. Read yours before choosing a date. Otherwise you can pay two systems for longer than planned.

  2. 02

Plan for payments and the app listing

Payment processing is optional at Mindbody, and third-party processors are accepted, but changing processor affects stored cards and recurring memberships. Ask the new vendor how stored payment methods migrate. Your Mindbody app listing and any marketplace clients stop with the account, so tell regular clients where to book.

Questions about replacing Mindbody

6 answers
How much does Mindbody cost?

Mindbody's pricing page shows Starter from 99 euros a month per location. Accelerate and Ultimate prices are not shown, and Enterprise is custom. Payment processing and the marketplace fee come on top, so the monthly price is a floor.

What is the Mindbody marketplace fee?

For first-time clients acquired through the Mindbody app, Mindbody states a fee of 20 percent, capped at $30. Later bookings by the same client are commission free.

Does Mindbody charge per user?

No. Mindbody lists unlimited users on all plans and says multi-location pricing grows by location, not by staff added.

Who owns Mindbody?

Mindbody's own site describes Playlist as Mindbody's parent company. Playlist also appears on the site as the source of the AI platform used in some of its tools.

Which alternative has the clearest published pricing?

Of the products we checked, Gymdesk, TeamUp, GymMaster, Zen Planner, PushPress, WellnessLiving, ClubRight and Magicline publish plan prices on their sites. Perfect Gym publishes starting prices and charges a one-time onboarding fee. Virtuagym's pricing could not be retrieved.

Is there a free option?

PushPress has a free plan with payment processing at higher rates, and Magicline is free below 25 members.
