People look for a Doodle alternative when the free plan runs out after one poll and one booking page, or when a per-seat bill starts to rise with every colleague who books clients. Most move to a booking-link tool that charges per user, per calendar or per volume of bookings. Those who need rooms and staff move to resource-based systems.
Short answer: The first three alternatives to Doodle in our appointment scheduling ranking are Calendly, YouCanBookMe and Cal.com. Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Choose Calendly if you mainly want clients to book your time and your colleagues already know the product. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Appointment Scheduling Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Doodle.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say
about a product. How that works.
Pricing: Free plan with limits; Pro and Team per seat per month, published, discounted when billed annually
Established in: Switzerland
Built for: Organisers who need a group to agree a date, plus a simple personal booking link
Not for: Clinics, garages or salons matching staff, rooms and equipment to slots

Why buyers look past Doodle
01
The free plan stops at one of everything
Doodle's pricing page says Free includes one Group Poll, one Booking Page, one 1:1 and 3 basic Sign-up Sheets. Pro and Team lift those caps to unlimited. Someone who runs a poll every week, or offers different booking pages to different clients, reaches the ceiling quickly and has to pay.
02
Billing is per seat, and the team plan costs more
Pro and Team are both charged per seat per month, billed annually, with Team shown at USD 16 and Pro at USD 11 on the pricing page we fetched. A group of ten people who each need a booking page therefore pays for ten seats. Tools priced by calendar, by booking volume or by one flat plan scale differently.
03
Built for people, not for rooms and equipment
Doodle's product pages describe Group Polls, Sign-up Sheets, 1:1s and Booking Pages. We found no room, equipment or multi-location resource scheduling on them. A clinic, garage or salon that must match a client to a person, a room and a time needs a system that models those resources.
Independent flat monthly or Team per bookable team member per month, published; 7-day trial; one-time fee on new marketplace clients; payment processing fees
Salon and clinic booking with a low subscription and marketplace fees
you run a beauty or wellness business and want payments and till in the same tool
From a published platform fee per month with 15 seats included, then per seat; contracts of one year or longer
Inbound lead routing that books the meeting on the form
you book sales meetings from web forms and need lead routing

What each one does differently

Calendly
United States · Per seat per month, published, with a free tier
The nearest match for 1:1 and team booking links: Free has one event type and one calendar connection, Standard is USD 10 and Teams USD 16 per seat per month on yearly billing. Enterprise starts at USD 15k a year from 50 seats. Invitees need no seat, but every host does.
Switch from Doodle if you mainly want clients to book your time and your colleagues already know the product.
United Kingdom · Free tier; flat monthly solo plans, Team per member per month, published
Operated by AI Software (Capacity) UK Ltd. The free tier includes one calendar connection, one booking page and polling for availability, so a small group vote is possible without paying. Higher tiers add booking pages and calendars, and Team adds round robin per member. Offers a 2-week free trial.
Switch from Doodle if you want a free tier that still includes polling plus a booking page.
United States · Free plan for one user; cloud per user per month, published
Free for one user with unlimited event types, Teams at USD 12 per user per month on yearly billing with a 14-day trial, Organizations at USD 28. Cal.com, Inc. is a Delaware corporation and its GitHub repository carries an MIT licence file. Self-hosting is possible but the vendor warns it needs server administration skills.
Switch from Doodle if you want the option to run the software on your own server.
United States · Per month by number of calendars (1, 6 or 36), published; 7-day trial
Charges per month by number of calendars, not per person: Starter has 1, Standard up to 6, Premium up to 36, from USD 16 to 55 on annual billing, with a 7-day trial without a card. It is built for clients booking services, with payments, packages and gift certificates, not for group voting.
Switch from Doodle if you sell appointments to clients and want to pay per calendar rather than per seat.
India · Free plan for one user; Basic and Premium per user per month, published; resources bought separately
Priced per user on Basic and Premium, with a 15-day trial that needs no card. Basic is limited to one workspace and Premium includes three. Rooms and equipment can be booked as resources, but resources must be bought separately. It is part of the wider Zoho product family.
Switch from Doodle if you already run Zoho and need staff-based bookings with a client portal.
Netherlands · Free plan for non-commercial use; paid plans per month by number of future appointments, published
SuperSaaS B.V. in Amsterdam bills by the number of upcoming appointments, not seats: free for 50, then USD 9 for 100, with unlimited registered users on paid plans. Multiple resources, group bookings and waiting lists are in every package. The interface is a booking system rather than a poll tool.
Switch from Doodle if your team grows but your booking volume stays modest.
Czechia · Free plan (40 bookings per 30 days); paid plans per month by booking volume, published; multi-location quoted
Reservio, s.r.o. in Brno limits plans by bookings per 30 days: 40 on Free, 200 Starter, 500 Standard, unlimited on Pro. Payment fees fall from 3.00% plus USD 2.55 on Free to 1.19% on Pro. Multi-location setups are quoted. Monthly amounts did not render in the page we fetched.
Switch from Doodle if you take paid bookings and want the price to follow volume.
Germany · Free Classic plan; Premium and Enterprise per resource per month, published; Enterprise Plus quoted
Prices follow the number of resources (a person, room or piece of equipment), with a free Classic plan for one resource and a 14-day trial on Premium. Enterprise is custom. Online payments need Stripe or PayPal. It targets businesses that schedule rooms and staff together, which Doodle does not.
Switch from Doodle if you must book rooms or equipment next to staff.
United Kingdom · Self Serve plan bought online, price not shown on the pricing page; Enterprise quoted; no commission on booking payments
Two routes: Self Serve for smaller businesses, bought online, and Enterprise with account management and an SLA. The Self Serve price did not show on the page we fetched. It offers unlimited booking widgets and tiered user permissions, and its reference customers are retail and beauty brands.
Switch from Doodle if you run branded booking journeys across many shops.
United Kingdom · Independent flat monthly or Team per bookable team member per month, published; 7-day trial; one-time fee on new marketplace clients; payment processing fees
A salon and wellness system with checkout, retail, memberships and consultation forms. Independent is EUR 14.95 a month for one person, Team EUR 9.95 per bookable team member, 7-day trial. A one-time fee applies to new clients from its marketplace. It is not a way to coordinate a meeting time.
Switch from Doodle if you run a beauty or wellness business and want payments and till in the same tool.
United States · From a published platform fee per month with 15 seats included, then per seat; contracts of one year or longer
A sales tool for routing and booking inbound leads into CRM. Routing and Scheduling starts at USD 15,000 a year with 15 seats, extra seats USD 45 a month, on contracts of 1 to 4 years. ChiliCal alone is USD 12 per user, 200 seats minimum. Nothing here suits a casual group poll.
Switch from Doodle if you book sales meetings from web forms and need lead routing.
Stay with Doodle if your main job is getting a group to agree a date. A poll goes out as one link and anyone can vote without an account, and the confirmed time sends calendar invites. If a handful of polls and one booking page is enough, the free plan costs nothing. It stops being the right tool when you need rooms, equipment or several staff calendars behind one booking system.

What moving off Doodle involves
01
Rebuild polls, not data
Doodle's strength is the poll, which is a one-off object. There is little history to carry over; what you recreate are booking pages, availability rules and sign-up sheets. Check the calendar connection and meeting links (Zoom, Teams, Webex on Doodle Pro) on the new tool before you tell anyone the link has changed.
02
Count seats, calendars or bookings before you compare prices
Doodle charges per seat, Acuity per calendar, SuperSaaS per upcoming appointment, Reservio per bookings in 30 days. Work out which of those numbers your team actually has, then compare the published plans. Where a vendor shows no amount on its page (Appointedd Self Serve, Zoho Bookings in our fetch), ask before assuming.

Questions about replacing Doodle
6 answers
Is there a free alternative to Doodle?
Yes, several tools have a free plan. Cal.com is free for one user, YouCanBookMe's free tier includes one booking page and polling for availability, Reservio is free up to 40 bookings per 30 days, SuperSaaS up to 50 upcoming appointments, and TIMIFY has a Classic plan for one resource.
Each has limits, so compare them with Doodle's free cap of one poll.
What does Doodle cost?
The pricing page lists Free, Pro and Team. Pro and Team are charged per seat per month and billed annually, shown as USD 11 and USD 16 when we fetched it, with a discount for yearly billing against monthly.
A promotional code was also shown at the time. Check the live page, as these figures change.
Can I vote on a Doodle poll without an account?
Yes. Doodle's group poll page says anyone can vote without a Doodle account. Only the organiser needs one. Replacement tools differ here, so check whether guests must register before you move a regular poll over.
Which alternative suits a clinic or salon?
Rooms, staff and equipment point to resource-based systems such as SuperSaaS, TIMIFY, Reservio or Fresha. SuperSaaS lists multiple resources in one schedule, TIMIFY prices by resource count, and Fresha adds point of sale. Doodle's own pages describe polls, 1:1s and booking pages, not resource scheduling.
Is there an alternative that can be self-hosted?
Cal.com is the one in this list with a stated route.
Its GitHub repository contains an MIT licence file and its terms mention customers hosting their own copy, while the project itself warns that self-hosting needs server administration and security knowledge. The other tools here are hosted by the vendor.
Where is Doodle based?
Doodle AG, business address Werdstrasse 21, 8004 Zurich, Switzerland, according to its terms of service. The location is a fact on the page, not a ranking factor for us.
