Acuity Scheduling alternatives: 11 appointment scheduling tools compared

People weigh an Acuity Scheduling alternative when the plan ladder stops fitting their practice, when they want the product under an independent or European owner, or when what they book is rooms and equipment rather than people. Options range from volume-priced European services to resource-based tools and a self-hosted application.

Short answer: Reservio, SuperSaaS and Easy!Appointments head the list of Acuity Scheduling alternatives drawn from our appointment scheduling ranking. Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Reservio is the one to try if you run a one-person practice and want a volume-based price with European hosting. The 11 entries that follow are all ranked in Best Appointment Scheduling Software in 2026; each one explains what sets it apart from Acuity Scheduling.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Acuity Scheduling

#6 of 18 in our appointment scheduling ranking

  • Pricing: Per month by number of calendars (1, 6 or 36), published; 7-day trial
  • Established in: United States
  • Built for: Therapists, coaches and small clinics that take payment at booking
  • Not for: Multi-location businesses coordinating shared rooms and equipment centrally
01

Why buyers look past Acuity Scheduling

  1. 01

Price rises with the number of calendars

Acuity sells three paid plans by calendar count: Starter with one calendar at USD 20 a month, Standard with up to six at USD 34, and Premium with up to 36 at USD 69, with 20 percent off when paid annually. Prices are in dollars and exclude tax. A practice that adds a second practitioner moves from Starter to Standard at once.

  2. 02

Useful extras sit on the higher plans

Text reminders, the waitlist, packages, memberships and gift certificates start on Standard. The AI Booking Assistant, a signed HIPAA business associate agreement, removal of the Powered by Acuity line, multiple time zones for staff and the custom API and CSS are listed on Premium only. A small practice that needs one of those pays for the top plan.

  3. 03

A Squarespace product with no free tier

The pricing page names Squarespace as the owner and says Acuity does not offer free appointment scheduling, only a 7-day trial without a card. Its data questions are answered by pointing to Squarespace privacy and GDPR pages. Buyers who want a vendor of their own size, or a free entry level, look elsewhere.

What each one does differently

Reservio

Czechia · Published

Reservio is a Czech service for salons, studios, tutors and small clinics. Its free plan covers 40 bookings per 30 days, and paid plans step up by booking volume rather than by calendar count, which suits a one-person practice that sees few clients. Documentation in English trails the Czech and German versions, and chains with many sites will find the depth thin.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you run a one-person practice and want a volume-based price with European hosting.

SuperSaaS

Netherlands · Published

SuperSaaS comes from the Netherlands and prices by future appointments, not by calendars or staff. A free plan exists for non-commercial use, and rules can be set per resource, so a room or a machine is booked like a person. European hosting is standard. The screens are dense and dated, and nothing about it looks polished to a client.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you book rooms, courts or equipment and want to pay by appointment volume.

SuperSaaS, #1 of 18 in our appointment scheduling ranking →

Easy!Appointments

Germany · Published

Easy!Appointments is GPL-3.0 software published by a sole proprietor in Offenbach, Germany. You run it yourself with Docker or buy managed hosting at a fixed price. Google Calendar sync, a REST API, webhooks and staff roles ship in the free code. Reminders, SMS and online payments exist only as custom development, so deposits would have to be built.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you can host it yourself and mainly need a calendar-synced booking page.

SimplyBook.me

Cyprus · Published

SimplyBook.me Ltd is a Cyprus company with a free plan of 50 bookings a month and one provider. Basic raises that to 100 bookings and five providers, and the higher tiers add payments, a client app and integrations. Caps are counted in bookings and providers, so a growing practice moves up a tier sooner than the headline price suggests.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you want a ladder of tiers that starts free and adds providers as you grow.

YouCanBookMe

United Kingdom · Published

YouCanBookMe is a British product with a free tier and two flat-priced solo plans, so one practitioner pays a fixed sum whatever the volume. Team is charged per member. Booking page and confirmation email wording can be customised extensively, and the free tier takes Stripe payments. Round robin and branding removal need Team, and there is no resource model.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you work alone, want a flat monthly fee and a heavily customised booking page.

TIMIFY

Germany · Published

TIMIFY is a German product, hosted in AWS Frankfurt, with a free Classic plan and Premium and Enterprise priced per resource per month. Staff, rooms and equipment are separate bookable resources, with central rules and local exceptions for branches. Resource dependencies need Enterprise and multi-site tooling needs a quote, so a solo coach would be buying more than needed.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you book across several branches and want rooms and staff as separate resources.

Appointedd

United Kingdom · On request

Appointedd is a UK vendor built for organisations whose appointments involve several staff at once, virtual and in-person options, many time zones and a brand-matched customer journey. Self Serve is bought online without a price on the pricing page, and Enterprise is quoted. No commission is taken on booking payments. Its admin takes time to learn.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if a bank, retailer or public body needs multi-staff appointments with UK support.

Fresha

United Kingdom · Published

Fresha is a UK platform for salons and clinics that bundles calendar, client records, stock and reminders. Independent costs a flat monthly sum and Team is priced per bookable team member. A one-time fee applies to new clients who arrive via its marketplace, messaging beyond the allowance is charged, and card payments run through its own processing.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you run a salon or clinic and want stock, client records and payments in one tool.

SavvyCal

Not stated by the vendor · Published

SavvyCal, Inc. sells Basic and Premium per-seat plans, with no seat needed for the person booking. Its free plan sets up links and polls but cannot take bookings. A custom domain, branding removal and Stripe payment at booking need Premium, everyone on a subscription shares one plan, and there is no self-serve trial, only a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you want a polished sharing link for meetings more than a client intake system.

SavvyCal comes 16 of 18 when appointment scheduling products are ranked here →

Zoho Bookings

India · Published

Zoho Bookings, from India, has a free plan for one user and low-priced Basic and Premium plans per user, with resources bought separately. Its strength is the link into Zoho CRM and Desk, which places the booking beside the customer record. Pages are plain and the attention it gets is smaller than for the bigger Zoho applications.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if you already keep clients in Zoho CRM and want bookings to land there.

Where Zoho Bookings stands: place 10 of 18 in the appointment scheduling ranking →

Microsoft Bookings

United States · See profile

Microsoft Bookings is part of most Microsoft 365 Business and Enterprise subscriptions, so no new invoice arrives, and meetings run through Teams under your own tenant rules for identity and retention. Public pages look like Microsoft, resource booking is limited, and setup depends on tenant permissions that an office manager may not hold.

Switch from Acuity Scheduling if your organisation already pays for Microsoft 365 and wants bookings inside the tenant.

Which alternative for which situation

  1. 01

You book rooms, courts or machines as well as people

SuperSaaS: It prices by future appointments and sets rules per resource, with European hosting as standard.

  2. 02

You can run your own server and want no subscription

Easy!Appointments: The GPL-3.0 code includes Google Calendar sync and a REST API; payments and reminders would be custom work.

  3. 03

You work alone and want a free start in Europe

Reservio: The free plan covers 40 bookings per 30 days, with paid plans by booking volume.

  4. 04

You run a salon or clinic with stock and client records

Fresha: Calendar, client records, stock and reminders come in one subscription, with a one-time fee on new marketplace clients.

  5. 05

Your organisation already pays for Microsoft 365

Microsoft Bookings: It is included in most Business and Enterprise subscriptions and books Teams meetings inside your tenant.

04

When Acuity Scheduling is still the right choice

Acuity remains a sound choice for a practitioner who wants intake forms, deposits and card payments through Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo without assembling parts. Packages, memberships and gift certificates are on Standard, calendar syncing and a mobile admin app are on every plan, and a limit on room or resource use helps to prevent overbooking. If one to six calendars cover you and dollars are no obstacle, there is little reason to move.

05

What moving off Acuity Scheduling involves

  1. 01

Clients and intake history need exporting first

Acuity keeps client profiles with intake form answers, notes and appointment history. Ask what each candidate imports before cancelling, and keep a copy of the form answers you may be required to retain. Test a booking with a deposit before you announce the new link.

  2. 02

Packages and memberships do not transfer

Prepaid packages, subscriptions and gift certificates are balances your clients hold. Run them down on Acuity or honour them by hand in the new tool. Update the booking links on your website, since embedded Acuity pages and the QR codes you printed will keep pointing to the old service.

Questions about replacing Acuity Scheduling

6 answers
What does Acuity Scheduling cost?

The pricing page lists Starter at USD 16 a month on annual billing or USD 20 monthly, Standard at USD 27 or USD 34, and Premium at USD 55 or USD 69. Prices exclude taxes, and Enterprise is arranged through sales.

Is there a free version of Acuity?

No. The vendor says it offers no free appointment scheduling and gives a 7-day trial without a credit card. Reservio, SuperSaaS for non-commercial use, SimplyBook.me and Zoho Bookings list free plans, each with limits.

Which alternative is hosted in Europe?

SuperSaaS comes from the Netherlands with European hosting as standard, TIMIFY hosts in Frankfurt, and Reservio is a Czech company. Easy!Appointments lets you choose your own server. Check each processing agreement for exact data locations.

Does Acuity support HIPAA?

A signed business associate agreement is listed on the Premium plan only. If you handle health data and are not in the United States, ask any candidate about its own data protection terms before storing client records.

Can I host a booking system myself?

Easy!Appointments is GPL-3.0 software you install on your own server or with Docker. Reminder emails, SMS and online payments are not part of the free code, so deposits and text reminders would be extra work.

What if I book rooms or machines rather than people?

SuperSaaS and TIMIFY treat rooms and equipment as bookable resources with their own rules. Acuity lets you cap rooms and resources to avoid overbooking, but its model is the practitioner calendar.
