Cornerstone OnDemand alternatives: 11 talent management tools compared

Teams that look beyond Cornerstone OnDemand are mostly paying for a learning platform and wondering how much of the talent side they use. Performance and the marketplace sit on top of the learning package, and nothing is priced in public. The list below runs from small independent vendors to the large HR suites.

Short answer: Looking for a replacement for Cornerstone OnDemand? Treams, Abacus Umantis and Cegid HR Talent Management come first in our talent management software ranking. Smaller vendors fill the top three places where the category offers them, and the household names start at place 4. Start with Treams if you want reviews, 1:1s and a talent grid at a price you can read without a sales call. These 11 products are all in Best Talent Management Software in 2026; the notes say how each one compares with Cornerstone OnDemand.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Cornerstone OnDemand

#10 of 13 in our talent management software ranking

  • Not for: A company of a few hundred people wanting courses live this quarter

Why buyers look past Cornerstone OnDemand

  1. 01

Performance is bought on top of learning

Cornerstone's package page says Elevate+ contains everything in Learn+ and adds performance management, a talent marketplace and AI for talent development. A company that wants reviews and goals first therefore starts from a learning licence, charged per employee per year, whether or not it trains anyone on the platform.

  2. 02

No figure is published for any package

We read the pricing page and the packages page. The first says each organisation will have a different cost depending on needs and size, the second names no amounts, and both point to a demo form. Intelligence+ is banded by total headcount rather than per person, so two quotes for the same company can follow different logic.

  3. 03

The skills layer is a separate purchase

Intelligence+ carries People Graph, Skills Architect and workforce intelligence, and the page says it can be added to Learn+, Elevate+ or HCM+ and is required for Readiness Agents. Buyers who expect skills data to arrive with performance reviews should ask which package holds each piece before comparing offers.

Flow gives managers 1:1s, reviews, goals and OKRs; Momentum adds 360 feedback, pulse surveys with eNPS, competencies and job profiles; Compound adds live talent review, succession and calibrated grids. Abacus Umantis

Switzerland · On request

Abacus Umantis belongs to Abacus Research AG in Switzerland and is sold in two editions. Smart is preconfigured for 100 to 500 employees and the vendor says it goes live in weeks; Flex is configured individually for complex structures from about 300. Its modules span applicants, talent management and administration including payroll and time. Its pages show no prices.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if you are a mid-sized company in the German-speaking market and want talent, applicants and payroll data in one Swiss suite.

Cegid HR Talent Management

France · On request

Cegid describes a competency-based product with a skills repository fed automatically by HR processes, running performance, salary and talent reviews. Its page quotes a customer who saved ten days on a salary review for 2,000 employees in 40 countries. The product line was formerly Talentsoft, and a pending merger with Silae was announced this autumn. No prices are given.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if salary and talent reviews across several countries matter more to you than a content library.

Cegid HR Talent Management, #3 of 13 in our talent management software ranking →

Lattice

United States · Published

Lattice lists seat prices: Performance at $10, Goals and OKRs at $8, Engagement at $4 per seat per month, with Compensation at +$6 and Grow at +$4. Contracts are annual, in dollars, with a $4,000 minimum, and Performance has no implementation fee. It offers no learning module, so training content would have to stay with another vendor or with Cornerstone.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if reviews and goals are the purchase and a published dollar price per seat is a requirement.

Why Lattice is #5 among 13 talent management software products →

Learnsoft

Not stated by the vendor · On request

Learnsoft sells an LMS and a talent module together, so the shape is closest to Cornerstone's learning-first design. Its site lists compliance tracking, multilingual and blended learning, and HRIS connections, with healthcare and government versions of the platform. The talent module appears only as a short list of solution areas, and no prices or company address are shown.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if compliance training is the main job and talent features are a modest add-on.

Beamery

United Kingdom · On request

Beamery positions itself around workforce transformation: a data platform joins skills, roles, people and market data, and a Workforce Intelligence Suite models future scenarios. It sells separate Skills Intelligence and Task Intelligence products and an agentic advisor named Ray. We found no review cycle or learning content, so it works beside an HR system and never replaces one.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if you need skills and role analysis for planning and already run reviews and learning somewhere else.

Open the Beamery profile, 4th of 13 in the talent management software guide →

Phenom

United States · On request

Phenom is a hiring platform, and its menu groups Onboarding, Talent Marketplace and Career Pathing under retention, next to a Career Coach Agent and workforce intelligence. The marketplace matches staff to internal opportunities. The menu shows no review cycle, pay module or learning content, and no prices, so it answers the mobility half of Elevate+ only.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if internal mobility and career paths are the aim and your recruiters already want one system for hiring.

Eightfold AI

United States · On request

Eightfold's Talent Management page covers career planning, a talent marketplace, redeployment, succession and an ROI calculator for mobility. A Digital Twin reads live signals from email, work apps and tasks, and a new Workforce Readiness view reports AI Potential and AI Adoption quarterly. The page describes no performance review or pay feature, and no prices.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if you want skills-driven mobility and succession and treat appraisals as a separate matter.

Dayforce

United States · On request

Dayforce is an HCM platform from Minneapolis and Toronto, with talent management for engagement, performance, pay and succession plus Career Explorer for internal moves. Its home page now leads with an agentic HCM platform, and the October release notes most of the new experiences arrive through 2027. Check which features are live in your contract today.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if payroll and time data already sit in Dayforce and talent should follow in the same system.

SAP SuccessFactors

Germany · On request

SAP SuccessFactors covers recruiting, onboarding, performance, learning, compensation and succession, with assistants for development plans and performance preparation. SAP offers a 30-day basic trial on a shared tenant with sample data, English only and without AI. Each module is scoped and priced separately, so the offer to compare is a full quote.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if you run SAP elsewhere and want one German vendor covering every talent module.

Why SAP SuccessFactors is #11 among 13 talent management software products →

Workday

United States · On request

Workday splits the area into Talent Acquisition and Talent Development, the latter holding onboarding, Talent Optimization for careers and succession, Learning, Employee Voice and Talent Insights. Skills Cloud puts skills at the centre. Its page does not state whether these modules need Workday HCM underneath, and pricing sits behind a demo request.

Switch from Cornerstone OnDemand if a global company is moving its core HR to Workday and wants talent in the same tenant.

Which alternative for which situation

  1. 01

You want reviews and goals without a learning licence

Lattice: Performance is $10 per seat per month, billed annually in dollars with a $4,000 minimum, and no implementation fee is charged for it.

  2. 02

You want an openly priced European tool for managers

Treams: Flow is €6.50 and Momentum €9 per employee per month, and the vendor states ISO 27001 certification.

  3. 03

You run salary and talent reviews in many countries

Cegid HR Talent Management: The product page quotes a customer that saved ten days on a salary review covering 2,000 employees in 40 countries.

  4. 04

You mainly want internal mobility and career paths

Eightfold AI: The page lists a talent marketplace, redeployment and succession, and describes no performance review feature.

  5. 05

You are a Swiss or German-speaking company of 100 to 500 people

Abacus Umantis: The Smart edition is preconfigured for that size and the vendor says it goes live in weeks.

04

When Cornerstone OnDemand is still the right choice

Cornerstone remains the better fit when learning is the main workload. Its platform page lists learning, content subscriptions, extended enterprise, Saba and SumTotal alongside performance, succession and a skills engine, and the company reports more than 7,000 customers and 140 million users. If employees already complete courses there and Elevate+ simply adds reviews, replacing the whole stack means rebuilding content, records and reporting for a gain that may be small.

05

What moving off Cornerstone OnDemand involves

  1. 01

Map the modules you really use

List which of Learn+, Elevate+, Intelligence+ or HCM+ you hold, and which features inside them people open each month. Skills Architect, the marketplace and performance cycles each need a home, and some may be dropped.

  2. 02

    Secure training records before notice

Completion histories and certifications are often legal evidence. Ask in writing for an export of transcripts, content and review forms, and agree the date the licence stops so that no cycle is cut in half.

  3. 03

Pilot one cycle in the new tool

Rebuild forms, rating scales and integrations for one department first. The platform page mentions APIs and connectors, so check what the new vendor can ingest and what you will load by hand.

Questions about replacing Cornerstone OnDemand

7 answers
What is the best alternative to Cornerstone OnDemand for talent management?

Treams ranks first in our list. It publishes Flow at €6.50 and Momentum at €9 per employee per month, covers reviews, 1:1s, 360 feedback, talent review and succession in the higher packs, and is certified to ISO 27001. Abacus Umantis, Cegid and Lattice follow.

Does Cornerstone publish its prices?

No. Its pricing page says cost differs by organisation, and the packages page says Learn+, Elevate+ and HCM+ are licensed per employee per year while Intelligence+ uses bands by total headcount. No amounts appear on either page.

Which Cornerstone package contains performance management?

Elevate+ does, together with a talent marketplace and everything in Learn+. HCM+ is a separate skills-centred suite listing hiring, performance, development, mobility, succession, compensation and workforce data.

Is there a cheaper way to run reviews than Elevate+?

A tool that does only reviews can cost less, because you skip the learning licence. Lattice lists Performance at $10 per seat per month with a $4,000 annual minimum, and Treams Flow is €6.50 per employee. Neither includes a course library.

Which alternative has a learning module too?

Learnsoft pairs an LMS with a talent module, SAP SuccessFactors lists learning, and Workday names Learning under Talent Development. Treams, Lattice and Beamery do not present a learning library on the pages we read.

Which alternatives suit internal mobility?

Eightfold lists a talent marketplace and redeployment, Phenom has Career Pathing and a marketplace, and Dayforce offers Career Explorer. These are strong on moves between roles and thinner on appraisals.

Can I buy a skills layer without the rest of Cornerstone?

Cornerstone says Intelligence+ can be bought independently and added to other packages. Among alternatives, Beamery sells skills and task intelligence beside an existing HR system, and Workday places Skills Cloud under its talent products.
