Who supplies the player
Yodeck includes a Raspberry Pi based player free with annual plans, a 1GB unit on Basic and a 4GB unit on Premium and Enterprise, or takes $20 to $70 per screen off if you bring your own device. OptiSigns needs a player you supply, Android, Windows, Linux or Raspberry Pi, and recommends its own hardware for compatibility. For a settled hardware answer, Yodeck is ahead.

Content tools and apps
Neither is the strong option for content. Yodeck's Basic plan lists more than 800 templates and 90 apps, but its editor is plain and marketers tend to abandon it for Canva exports. OptiSigns lists more than 100 apps and a Designer tool on Standard, yet the list is broad and shallow. Microsoft 365 and Google integrations sit on Premium and Pro Plus respectively.

Running a larger estate
OptiSigns puts advanced user roles, folder-level security, approval workflows, proof of play reports and remote troubleshooting on Pro, at $12.50 a screen monthly, though Standard stops at 25 users. Yodeck lists playback reports and email alerts when a player goes offline, but keeps custom roles, workspaces and SAML single sign-on for Enterprise at $16. Governance features arrive at a lower tier with OptiSigns.

A large estate that treats central alerting and device health as the main requirement, or wants signage built around office communications, should price two others as well.
