Mentimeter vs Slido

Mentimeter and Slido both run live audience sessions with quizzes as one module among several, but they disclose very different amounts. Mentimeter prints Free, Basic and Pro prices per presenter and lists what each plan adds. Slido names four plan groups without an amount and puts audience questions and polls first. Mentimeter AB is registered in Sweden, while Slido's operating company in Bratislava has belonged to Cisco since 2 May 2021.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Where they differ

  1. 01

Dollar figures against a quote request

Mentimeter's pricing page shows Free at $0, Basic at $11.99 and Pro at $24.99, with Basic and Pro priced per presenter per month, billed yearly and excluding tax. Slido's page names One-time, Annual, Education and Enterprise plans, then states that pricing needs JavaScript and offers a quote by email. The text we read shows no Slido price, currency or participant limit.

    Edge: Mentimeter

  2. 02

What the free door lets in

Mentimeter calls its free plan the easiest way to try it. It allows 50 participants per month, 23 slide types and Q&A, and leaves out import, private presentations and exports. Slido's terms say a fee is required except for the Basic plan, and that the free service continues until terminated. The pages we read do not show Slido's free limits, so only Mentimeter's can be judged.

    Edge: Mentimeter

  3. 03

    Trial or no trial

Mentimeter's pricing page names no free trial, so its Free plan is the way to test the product before paying. Slido's pages offer no trial wording either in the text we read, only its Basic plan under the terms and a quote route for paid tiers. Since both ask you to test on a free plan, the comparison here is level, with Mentimeter's limits at least written down.

    Depends on the buyer

  4. 04

    Quiz depth inside the session

Mentimeter lists quizzes among its slide types, and its free plan holds 23 of them with Q&A, while Basic unlocks unlimited slide types. Slido lists Quizzes beside Live Polls, Live Q&A, Word Cloud, Ideas, Surveys and Analytics, with no detail on scoring in the text we read. Neither page describes a reusable question bank, so neither suits graded exam work.

    Depends on the buyer

  5. 05

    Tool links, imports and sign-on

Slido names PowerPoint, Webex, Google Slides, Microsoft Teams and Zoom as integrations. Mentimeter instead stresses importing PowerPoint, Keynote or PDF files from Basic upwards, PDF, image and Excel export, and reserves SSO, SCIM, LMS integration and custom data retention for Enterprise. If your session happens inside a meeting app, Slido lists more of them. That makes the Slido page the quicker read for a team deciding where the session will actually be shown.

    Registered entity and parent company

Mentimeter AB (publ) is a Swedish limited liability company, Reg. No. 556892-5506, governed by Swedish law, with an office at Tulegatan 11 in Stockholm. Slido's contracting company is sli.do s. r. o., Vajnorska 100/A, Bratislava, Slovakia, and its own notice says Cisco Systems International B.V. acquired it on 2 May 2021. Mentimeter is the one without a named parent. Both are registered in the EU.

When neither fits

If you need graded quizzes with a reusable question bank and per-student results, neither page describes that. Wooclap and Kahoot! are two other tools in our quiz maker list to check.

Mentimeter or Slido: questions

3 answers
Does Mentimeter's free plan cover a full quiz night?

It covers up to 50 participants per month with 23 slide types and Q&A. Import, private presentations and exports are not included. Basic at $11.99 per presenter per month, billed yearly, removes the participant cap.

Is there any amount on Slido's pricing page at all?

Not in the text we read. It names One-time, Annual, Education and Enterprise plans and points to a quote by email. The pages we read do not show a currency or participant limit.

Which of the two has a named corporate parent?

Slido. Its notice says sli.do s.r.o. was acquired by Cisco Systems International B.V. as of 2 May 2021. Mentimeter's terms name only Mentimeter AB (publ) in Sweden.
