Spreedly alternatives: 11 payment orchestration platforms compared

Teams look beyond Spreedly when the vault starts to feel like a separate bill from the routing they need, when the tools they want sit behind a sales call, or when they want a vendor based in Europe. Spreedly publishes a price for the vault only; the optimisation features are quoted. Alternatives differ mainly in how much they bundle, whether they publish costs, and where the vendor sits.

Short answer: Payrails, APEXX Global and Praxis Tech head the list of Spreedly alternatives drawn from our payment orchestration platform ranking. Challengers take places 1 to 3 here. Big brands follow in the order of our category ranking. Payrails is the one to try if you want vault and reconciliation from a German company and can sit through a demo process. Each of the 11 alternatives sits in Best Payment Orchestration Platforms in 2026 and is described against Spreedly.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Spreedly

#1 of 12 in our payment orchestration platform ranking

  • Pricing: Vault tier price published; optimisation modules quoted on request
  • Established in: United States
  • Built for: Merchants who want to own their card tokens before adding routing later
  • Not for: Teams wanting one flat fee covering routing, fraud and checkout
01

Why buyers look past Spreedly

  1. 01

The listed price covers the vault alone

Spreedly's pricing page lists Independent Vault from 750 dollars a month, with a vault described as PCI-1 compliant with unlimited storage. Routing, network tokenisation, account updater and smart retries belong to Performance Optimization, where the page says to contact sales. A budget for the whole stack therefore needs a quote.

  2. 02

Little is said about where data is held

The pages we read give no data centre locations, no data residency statement and no headquarters; the footer shows only Spreedly, Inc. A European buyer who must document where cardholder data sits has to ask. The developer docs mention single tenant environments, which is a question to raise.

  3. 03

    Trial terms are not stated

The pricing page we read states no free trial, no free tier and no transaction limits. The docs describe a sandbox and test data, so you can build before buying, but how long and on what terms is something to confirm before a contract.

What each one does differently

Payrails

Germany · On request

Payrails was founded in 2021 and is based in Germany. It bundles orchestration, a token vault, reconciliation and payouts, and lists 100+ integrations that include Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, PayPal and Worldpay. A merchant-of-record route exists, which places Payrails inside the money flow. No prices are published.

Switch from Spreedly if you want vault and reconciliation from a German company and can sit through a demo process.

APEXX Global

United Kingdom · On request

APEXX Global is a London platform that spends most of its pages on routing: by approval likelihood, by cost, cascading after soft declines and volume splits. It lists 80+ acquirers and 30+ BNPL providers. The pages we read describe no vault beyond network tokenisation and BIN lookup, and show no price.

Switch from Spreedly if routing and soft-decline cascades matter more to you than owning a token store.

APEXX Global comes 8 of 12 when payment orchestration platform products are ranked here →

Akurateco

Portugal · On request

Akurateco is a Portugal-based software vendor, so you license a white-label gateway rather than rent a hosted layer. It claims 700+ connectors and routing with cascading, runnable on a regional cloud or on your own infrastructure. It is not an acquirer, so processors remain your job.

Switch from Spreedly if you want the orchestration software running on infrastructure you control.

Corefy

United Kingdom · Published

Corefy, in the United Kingdom, shows three tiers with included transaction volumes and per-transaction rates, while the monthly platform fee reads as custom. It handles payouts as well as pay-ins and sells a white-label pack. The SLA is 99.5% on every plan, and premium support adds a percentage of the invoice.

Switch from Spreedly if you need a budget figure before a sales call and want payouts too.

Corefy comes 3 of 12 when payment orchestration platform products are ranked here →

Gr4vy

United States · On request

Gr4vy presents a cloud orchestration platform for enterprise merchants, with a no-code workflow builder. Its vault lists data portability as a feature, which speaks to the same exit worry that token ownership answers at Spreedly. The site offers an ROI calculator and demo; sandbox access runs through the contact form.

Switch from Spreedly if portability of stored cards is a written feature you want to see before signing.

Our payment orchestration platform guide puts Gr4vy at 4 of 12; read why →

IXOPAY

Austria · On request

IXOPAY, from Austria, issues PSP-independent tokens and also sells a white-label edition for payment companies. Network tokens, 3DS and account updater appear as separate line items. Its pages give 200+ acquirers in one place and 500+ adapters in another, and do not describe hosting.

Switch from Spreedly if you are a payment company that wants to resell the platform under your own name.

Our payment orchestration platform guide puts IXOPAY at 5 of 12; read why →

Primer

United Kingdom · On request

Primer, from Primer API Limited, groups its product as Accept, Optimize and Manage, with no-code Workflows, fallback to a second processor, a credential vault and reconciliation. It reports SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI compliance. The site offers demo requests only, and its standard terms deserve a read.

Switch from Spreedly if you want workflows you design visually plus reconciliation in the same product.

Hyperswitch

India · Published

Hyperswitch is published by Juspay under Apache-2.0 on GitHub, with a free community edition to self-host and cloud and enterprise editions on request. Self-hosting hands you PCI compliance and uptime. Revenue recovery, cost observability and reconciliation are paid add-ons.

Switch from Spreedly if you want to read and run the orchestration code yourself.

Our payment orchestration platform guide puts Hyperswitch at 2 of 12; read why →

Yuno

Not stated by the vendor · On request

Yuno claims 1,000+ payment methods, PSPs and fraud tools behind one API, plus an agent called Payments Concierge that sends alerts through WhatsApp or Slack. A demo dashboard is shown, but no prices or trial. Its terms name entities in Mexico and Singapore, with no single headquarters stated.

Switch from Spreedly if breadth of local payment methods across many regions drives your choice.

Yuno review, listed at 11 of 12 payment orchestration platform products →

Solidgate

Cyprus · On request

Solidgate, registered in Cyprus, couples orchestration with its own card acquiring, subscription billing, tax calculation, chargeback management and treasury accounts, and names Worldpay as a Tier-1 acquirer since 2024. Pricing follows volume through a quote. Routing is tied to its own acquiring and finance products.

Switch from Spreedly if you would rather take acquiring, billing and chargebacks from one vendor.

Which alternative for which situation

  1. 01

You want to read and run the code yourself

Hyperswitch: The code is Apache-2.0 on GitHub with a free community edition; PCI compliance and uptime become yours.

  2. 02

You need a budget before a sales call

Corefy: Three tiers with included volumes and per-transaction rates are on the pricing page; the platform fee is custom.

  3. 03

You want routing tuned for soft declines

APEXX Global: Pages describe routing by approval likelihood or cost and cascading, across 80+ acquirers.

  4. 04

You want acquiring, billing and chargebacks from one vendor

Solidgate: It bundles card acquiring, subscription billing and treasury accounts, with pricing by volume on quote.

  5. 05

You want a German vendor with reconciliation and payouts

Payrails: It covers orchestration, a token vault, reconciliation and payouts; no prices are published.

04

When Spreedly is still the right choice

Spreedly remains a sound pick if your main goal is owning your payment tokens and keeping the freedom to change gateways. It states that customers keep stored credentials in a vault they own and can move processors without asking cardholders to re-enter cards. The docs show authorize, purchase, capture, refund, void and verify, 3DS2, iFrame and mobile checkout SDKs. A published vault price is also rare in this category.

05

What moving off Spreedly involves

  1. 01

Check how your tokens leave the vault

Ask the new vendor whether it can receive an export of stored cards, and how that transfer is done between PCI-certified parties. Spreedly describes tokens as yours, so start the request early and plan a test batch before cutting traffic over.

  2. 02

Rebuild routing rules and checkout code

Rules in Composer, 3DS steps and the iFrame or SDK integration are Spreedly-specific. Map every routing rule to the new tool, run both side by side on a slice of traffic and compare approval rates before moving everything.

Questions about replacing Spreedly

6 answers
What does Spreedly cost?

The pricing page lists Independent Vault from 750 dollars a month. Performance Optimization has no published price and says to contact sales.

Does Spreedly offer a free plan?

The pricing page we read states no free tier and no free trial. The documentation describes sandbox and test environments for development.

Can I keep my stored cards if I leave?

Spreedly says the tokens are yours and that you can change processors without cardholders re-entering cards. The practical export steps are not set out on the pages we read, so confirm them with both vendors.

Which alternatives publish prices?

Corefy shows tier structure and per-transaction rates, and Hyperswitch has a free self-hosted community edition. The others in the list ask you to request a demo or quote.

Is there an open source option?

Hyperswitch, from Juspay, is Apache-2.0 on GitHub. Self-hosting means you carry PCI compliance and uptime yourself.

Which alternatives are based in Europe?

Payrails (Germany), IXOPAY (Austria), Akurateco (Portugal), Praxis and Solidgate (Cyprus) are in the EU, and Corefy and Primer and APEXX list the United Kingdom. Check the contracting entity in each vendor's terms.
