Deel alternatives are sought by companies that use it for employer-of-record or contractor work and want a cheaper per-worker rate, and by those that only need payroll for their own entities. They move to rivals with a published payroll rate, to local payroll specialists, or to suites that fold payroll into HR.
Short answer: The closest replacements for Deel in our payroll software ranking are Remote, Rippling and Papaya Global. Choose Remote if you need a published per-employee payroll rate for your own entities. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Payroll Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Deel.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say
about a product. How that works.
Pricing: Per contractor or per employee per month, published
Established in: United States
Built for: A company paying people in countries where it has no entity
Not for: A single-country employer with a local provider
01
Why buyers look past Deel
01
Per-worker prices are high for employees
Deel's pricing page lists Global EOR at $599 per employee a month, US PEO at $125, Contractor of Record at $325 and standard contractor management at $49 per contractor a month. A team with a handful of EOR hires pays a significant sum each month. Companies that later open their own entity ask whether they still need EOR.
02
Payroll is not priced like the rest
Deel's Global Payroll page, which covers payroll through a company's own entities in 130+ countries, shows no price and directs buyers to book a demo. A buyer comparing a published $29 per employee payroll rate at one rival gets no direct number from Deel. That makes comparison harder.
03
A wide suite for a narrow need
Deel positions itself across contractors, EOR, PEO, payroll, recruiting and HR. A company that only needs to pay local employees correctly may find a regional payroll provider, with local expertise, a better fit than a global platform.

What each one does differently
1
Remote
United States · Per employee per month, published
Remote is Deel's closest rival: EOR at $699 per employee a month, and Payroll at $29 per employee a month for companies with their own entities, both published. It also sells contractor management, Contractor of Record and PEO. Its EOR rate is higher than Deel's listed $599.
Switch from Deel if you need a published per-employee payroll rate for your own entities.
United States · Quoted by module; advertised from $8 per user per month
Rippling unifies HR, finance and IT and is priced per employee per month by module, but its pricing page shows no per-seat figure and sends buyers to a quote. It suits companies that want payroll as part of one employee system.
Switch from Deel if you want payroll, HR and IT management in one system.
Papaya Global is a global payroll provider listed in our data as priced per employee per month. We could not verify its detail on the vendor site in this session.
Switch from Deel if you run payroll across many countries and want a dedicated payroll vendor.
Singapore · Per employee per month, published; EOR priced higher
Multiplier is a Singapore-based employer-of-record and payroll provider, priced per employee per month, with EOR priced higher than payroll in our data. We could not verify its figures on the vendor site in this session.
Switch from Deel if you want a further EOR and payroll vendor to put in a quote comparison.
France · Per employee per month plus a €49 base fee, published in France (from €20); quoted in the UK
PayFit is a per-employee monthly subscription for payroll and HR, with no fees for starters, leavers or corrections and onboarding included. Plans range from self-managed to a dedicated expert team. Its English pricing page publishes no amounts, and it serves mainly medium businesses of 25 to 300+ employees.
Switch from Deel if you pay local employees and want predictable fees without per-event charges.
Netherlands · Per employee per month, published; accountants buy payslip bundles
Nmbrs is part of the Visma Group and serves entrepreneurs and accountants in the Netherlands, with salary, HR, invoicing and accounting in one platform. It is Dutch-language and domestic in focus, so it does not replace Deel's cross-border employment.
Switch from Deel if your employees are in the Netherlands and an accountant helps you.
United States · Per month base plus per employee, published
Gusto is a United States payroll provider that charges a monthly base plus a fee per person, according to our data. We could not verify the figures on the vendor site in this session. It is built for US employers rather than cross-border hiring.
Switch from Deel if your employees and contractors are almost all in the United States.
United States · Per employee per month, published; payroll-only plan adds a base fee
Justworks is a United States provider whose plans are priced per employee per month, with a payroll-only plan adding a base fee, according to our data. We could not verify it on the vendor site in this session. It is US-only in practice, unlike Deel's global employment.
Switch from Deel if you are a US business that wants payroll with optional HR support.
ADP Workforce Now is quote-based, with Select, Plus and Premium packages covering payroll, HR, benefits and time. ADP says it serves organisations from 1 to 1,000+ employees and offers global payroll in 140+ countries. It is a traditional enterprise HR vendor, not a contractor platform.
Switch from Deel if you want payroll, benefits and time in one package from an established vendor.
Paychex Flex is quote-based, with Select, Foundations and Advanced levels. The vendor says it is primarily designed for U.S.-based employees and contractors, and its PEO is a separate product, Paychex Oasis. It does not do international employment.
Switch from Deel if you run a US business and want hands-on payroll support.
Belgium · Quoted per organisation; implementation separate
SD Worx works in 30 European countries and combines cloud platforms with advisory services, with pricing on request. Founded in 1945, it suits employers who want local payroll expertise across Europe. It is a services-led provider, not a self-serve global contractor tool.
Switch from Deel if you employ people in several European countries and want a payroll partner.
Deel stays the right choice when your workforce is a mix of contractors, EOR hires and employees in countries where you have no entity, and you want one dashboard and one invoice for them. Its month-to-month billing with no long-term contract also lowers the risk of trying it. Running payroll through your own entities is the point at which comparison with local providers becomes worthwhile.
05
What moving off Deel involves
01
Employer of record workers cannot simply be moved
Employees hired through an EOR are legally employed by the provider. Moving them means setting up your own entity or switching to another EOR, and it needs new contracts. Plan this with counsel and with the workers, and allow time for the handover.
02
Payroll history and tax records
Keep exports of payslips, year-to-date figures and tax filings before the cutover. A new provider needs opening balances, so choose a start date at the beginning of a pay period or tax year.

Questions about replacing Deel
6 answers
How much does Deel cost?
Deel's pricing page lists standard contractor management at $49 per contractor a month, Contractor of Record at $325, US PEO at $125, Global EOR at $599 per employee a month, and Find Talent at $14 per worker.
Billing is month to month. The Global Payroll page shows no price.
What is the cheapest Deel alternative?
It depends on the service. Remote publishes $29 per employee a month for payroll through your own entities. For EOR, Remote lists $699 against Deel's $599, so it is not cheaper there. Quoted vendors such as ADP and Paychex cannot be compared without a quote.
Is there a Deel alternative for Europe?
SD Worx operates in 30 European countries, PayFit serves medium businesses, and Nmbrs focuses on the Netherlands. They do payroll for local employees rather than global employment.
Is there a Deel alternative for US payroll?
Gusto, Justworks and Paychex Flex are US-focused, and Rippling and ADP Workforce Now are broader. Paychex states that Flex is primarily designed for U.S.-based employees and contractors.
Do I need EOR if I have my own entity?
No. With your own entity you can run payroll directly, and Deel and Remote both sell payroll for that case. EOR is for countries where you have no entity.
Does Deel lock you into a contract?
Its pricing page says billing is month to month with no long-term contracts, and that you can cancel at any time. Check your own order form for any additional terms.
