MuleSoft Anypoint alternatives: 11 integration platform tools compared

Teams look for a MuleSoft alternative when the contract starts at a level their integration volume does not justify, when they have no Mule developers, or when they want a vendor that is not part of Salesforce. Options range from European middleware for commerce and ERP to code-first runners, visual automation tools and other enterprise platforms.

Short answer: Alumio, elastic.io and Windmill head the list of MuleSoft Anypoint alternatives drawn from our integration platform ranking. The first three places are kept for challengers when the category has enough of them; the best-known brands come after that, in ranked order. Alumio is the one to try if your integrations mostly link a webshop to ERP and stock systems in Europe. Every one of the 11 products below comes from Best Integration Platform in 2026, with a note on how it departs from MuleSoft Anypoint.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

MuleSoft Anypoint

#13 of 14 in our integration platform ranking

  • Pricing: Usage-based on flows, messages and throughput, quoted; 30-day free trial
  • Established in: United States
  • Built for: Banks and large enterprises building reusable APIs under governance
  • Not for: Point-to-point integration between a handful of applications
01

Why buyers look past MuleSoft Anypoint

  1. 01

The entry price assumes a large estate

MuleSoft's pricing page says packages start at 2,000 dollars a month billed annually, and the Pre-Commit model needs at least 50,000 dollars a year. Unlimited credits are a custom price that is not published. A team that needs ten connections between a webshop and an ERP is buying a platform sized for something else.

  2. 02

The product is wider than most integration jobs

Anypoint Platform lists an API designer, Studio and Code Builder as IDEs, Exchange, Partner Manager for EDI, Anypoint MQ, Runtime Manager, Monitoring, Security and several API governance tools. That breadth suits an API programme with a central team. For a handful of point-to-point flows, most of it is surface you pay for and must learn.

  3. 03

Credits replace the old meters, and the vendor is Salesforce

Every package draws on Mule Credits, a shared currency across the portfolio, and the page does not list the credit allocation per package. The platform leans towards Agentforce and Salesforce infrastructure, including MuleSoft on Hyperforce. Buyers who want their integration layer to be independent of a CRM vendor have a reason to compare.

What each one does differently

Alumio

Netherlands · Published

Alumio is a Dutch integration platform shaped around webshops, ERP, PIM and warehouse systems. Connect Lite has a published monthly price of EUR 499 and Connect Core is quoted. Hosting is on AWS in Frankfurt. Most projects go through an implementation partner, and the connector library is thinner outside commerce.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if your integrations mostly link a webshop to ERP and stock systems in Europe.

Alumio, #2 of 14 in our integration platform ranking →

elastic.io

Germany · Published

elastic.io is a German platform whose plans are published from EUR 25 a month by message volume, with a 14-day trial. White-label and self-hosted editions are quoted. New connectors are written in Node.js or Java, so extending it is development work rather than configuration.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if you embed integrations in your own software product and want a German runtime.

elastic.io, #3 of 14 in our integration platform ranking →

Windmill

United States · Published

Windmill turns scripts in Python, TypeScript, Go or SQL into flows with retries, suspend and approval steps, all versioned in Git. It is open source and can run on your own machines, with cloud plans priced per seat and compute. There are no vendor-built connectors, so each API call is your own code.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if your team writes code and wants flows it fully owns.

Frends

Finland · On request

Frends is Finnish middleware with execution agents that run in your own network or in the cloud, the hybrid option arriving from the Business plan. Its monitoring of running processes is one of its stronger points. Everything is quoted, and the learning curve is that of traditional middleware.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if integrations must stay inside your network but you want a European vendor.

Why Frends is #5 among 14 integration platform products →

Make

Czechia · Published

Make, founded in Prague and now owned by Celonis, draws scenarios on a visual canvas with branching, iteration and error routes. It has a free plan and a monthly credit allowance, with one credit per module action. A loop over many rows spends credits faster than the plan table suggests.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if analysts will build the flows and you want to see failures on a canvas.

Jitterbit Harmony

United States · On request

Jitterbit Harmony is a mid-market platform with private agents inside your network, EDI for trading partners and its own API management. Subscriptions are quoted by edition and connections. The design studio takes weeks to learn, which puts it nearer to MuleSoft in effort than to the lighter tools.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if you need EDI and API management but at mid-market scale.

Jitterbit Harmony, #11 of 14 in our integration platform ranking →

Celigo

United States · On request

Celigo ships integration apps for well-worn routes such as NetSuite to Shopify, with mappings and error queues already prepared. Pricing is quoted per flow and endpoint, with a 30-day trial. Beyond those routes it is an ordinary iPaaS that expects you to understand the systems on both ends.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if your main need is finance and commerce routes around NetSuite.

Full verdict on Celigo, which sits at number 8 of 14 for integration platform →

Tray.ai

United States · On request

Tray.ai offers a visual builder that exposes loops, branching, error paths and raw API calls, with governance and an agent builder added on top. Pricing is a quoted plan plus task usage, and a free trial exists. It has been repositioned around AI since the rename from Tray.io.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if operations engineers want flexibility without writing a full Mule project.

Open the Tray.ai profile, 12nd of 14 in the integration platform guide →

Zapier

United States · Published

Zapier is priced per task per month with a free tier, and thousands of applications have a Zapier integration before they have a documented API. Autoreplay and bulk replay need a paid plan and work per run, not per record. High-volume flows become expensive on the task meter.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if you only need light app-to-app automations run by business users.

Full verdict on Zapier, which sits at number 7 of 14 for integration platform →

Boomi

United States · Published

Boomi's Atom runtime can sit in your own network while design stays in the cloud, a pattern that MuleSoft's Runtime Fabric also serves. Editions are quoted with connection allowances, and a pay-as-you-go plan from 99 dollars a month plus usage exists, with a 30-day trial. Serious work assumes a trained developer.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if you want a comparable enterprise platform with a published entry plan.

SAP Integration Suite

Germany · On request

SAP Integration Suite is a German vendor's subscription service with prebuilt flows for SAP-to-SAP and SAP-to-other connections, and European hosting options. Editions carry message allowances and are quoted. Outside an SAP landscape the library offers little advantage.

Switch from MuleSoft Anypoint if SAP systems sit at the centre of your estate.

Which alternative for which situation

  1. 01

You sell webshops, ERP and stock links in Europe

Alumio: Connect Lite has a published price of EUR 499 a month, and hosting is on AWS in Frankfurt.

  2. 02

Your developers prefer code to canvases

Windmill: Scripts in Python, TypeScript, Go or SQL become Git-versioned flows that you can run on your own machines.

  3. 03

You need integrations to stay inside your own network

Frends: Execution agents run in your network or in the cloud, with hybrid from the Business plan; everything is quoted.

  4. 04

You want analysts to build the automations

Make: A visual canvas with a free plan, though every module action in a loop draws a credit.

  5. 05

You want a comparable enterprise platform with a published entry plan

Boomi: A pay-as-you-go plan from 99 dollars a month plus usage and a 30-day trial sit beside quoted editions.

04

When MuleSoft Anypoint is still the right choice

MuleSoft remains the sensible choice for an organisation with a central integration team that treats APIs as reusable products. Design, governance, a developer portal, EDI and deployment on CloudHub, Runtime Fabric or on-premises sit in one vendor's platform. If you already run Salesforce and need to publish managed APIs across many teams, the breadth is the point rather than the overhead.

05

What moving off MuleSoft Anypoint involves

  1. 01

Mule applications do not export to another tool

Flows, DataWeave transformations and API policies are specific to Anypoint. Plan a rebuild: list each API and flow, note who consumes it, and rebuild the busiest first. Check that downstream clients can be pointed at a new endpoint before you switch.

  2. 02

Governance and runtime duties move too

API policies, threat protection and monitoring in Anypoint do work that your new tool may not do. Decide where authentication, rate limits and alerting will live, and whether a separate API gateway is still needed beside the new integration tool.
