Keeper alternatives: 11 password managers compared

Keeper alternatives are sought by buyers who cannot get a per-user price from Keeper's business page, and by teams that only need a shared vault and not a platform with privileged access and secrets management attached. They move to flat-priced or published-price business managers, to open source options they can host, or to enterprise suites when governance is the point.

Short answer: The first three alternatives to Keeper in our password manager ranking are 1Password, Bitwarden and Dashlane. Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Choose 1Password if you are a small team that wants a flat published price and a polished client. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Password Manager for Business in 2026, and each says where it differs from Keeper.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say about a product. How that works.

Keeper

#11 of 12 in our password manager ranking

  • Pricing: Per user per month, published; add-ons extra
  • Established in: United States
  • Built for: A regulated organisation that needs the certification list
  • Not for: A team that wants one price with everything included
01

Why buyers look past Keeper

  1. 01

The business price is not on the page

Keeper's business pricing page lists Business Starter and Business per user, billed annually, but shows no figure beside them in our fetch, and the Enterprise plan is by quote only. A team that wants to compare seat costs before talking to sales has to ask, while Bitwarden, 1Password and Proton publish theirs.

  2. 02

    The extras are sold separately

Dark Web Monitoring (BreachWatch), Secrets Manager and Advanced Reporting and Alerts are listed as add-ons, and KeeperPAM is sold through sales with custom pricing. A buyer who wants breach alerts and audit reporting on top of the vault should price the combination, not the base plan.

  3. 03

Keeper is wider than a password vault

Keeper now describes itself around privileged access, secrets and machine identities as well as passwords, and sells a separate MSP product. For a ten-person team the extra scope is unused. For a security team it is the reason to stay, which is why the question is scope, not quality.

Bitwarden

United States · Free personal tier; business plans per user per month, published

Bitwarden publishes Teams at $4 and Enterprise at $6 per user per month billed annually, plus a free personal account with no time limit. Bitwarden, #4 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

Dashlane

United States · Per user per month, published

Dashlane sells Password Management with a 14-day trial, a Credential Protection tier and a custom Enterprise tier, all per user per month billed annually. Our fetch of its pricing page showed no figures, so compare in a quote. There is no business free plan, and the page does not describe secrets management.

Switch from Keeper if you want a credential-protection tier next to the vault and will ask for a quote.

Dashlane, #6 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

Proton Pass

Switzerland · Free tier; paid per user per month, published

Proton Pass for business costs $1.99 (Essentials) or $4.49 (Professional) per user per month billed annually, with a three-user minimum and a 14-day trial. Professional adds SSO, SCIM, activity logs, a SIEM integration, a command line interface and an SSH agent. Proton AG is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Switch from Keeper if Swiss hosting and a low published seat price matter and you can accept a younger admin layer.

Proton Pass, #5 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

NordPass

Lithuania · Free personal plan for one user; business plans per user per month, published; Teams sold as a 10-user pack

NordPass is a business and personal password manager whose business pages were not retrievable from our network in this session, so we state no price or limit. Our category data lists a free personal plan and a ten-user team pack. Check its current plan table before comparing it with Keeper's Starter plan.

Switch from Keeper if you already use other Nord Security products and want one vendor relationship.

NordPass, #10 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

LastPass

United States · Free plan for one user on one device type; business plans per user per month, published

LastPass offers Teams (up to 50 users), Business (unlimited users, SSO for three apps) and Business Max (unlimited SSO apps, AI, SaaS and web monitoring), all billed annually, with a 14-day trial without a card. Its free plan covers one device type only. The page we fetched showed no seat prices.

Switch from Keeper if you want tiers that separate small teams, SSO needs and monitoring.

LastPass, #12 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

Zoho Vault

India · Free for personal use; paid per user per month, published, low

Zoho Vault has a free-forever plan and paid Standard, Professional and Enterprise plans per user per month, with 10 percent off for annual billing. Active Directory, SSO and SIEM integration sit on Enterprise. The page lists no amounts, so read its calculator. Its 15-day trial of Enterprise allows five users.

Switch from Keeper if your company already runs on Zoho and wants a low-cost shared vault with a free tier.

Zoho Vault, #2 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

RoboForm

United States · Free tier; business plans per user per year, published

RoboForm gives a free plan with unlimited passwords on a single device and describes one paid business plan with centralised admin, SSO and role-based access. Siber Systems operates it from Fairfax, Virginia. The business price was not on the page we fetched. It offers no separate privileged access or secrets product.

Switch from Keeper if you want a single business plan with no tier ladder.

RoboForm, #7 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

Psono

Germany · Free self-hosted community edition; hosted plans published

Psono is built by esaqa GmbH in Vorra, Germany, and can run entirely on your own servers. The community edition server is Apache 2.0 licensed, and the vendor offers On Premise and SaaS options, with all business features free up to 10 users. Support and SLAs are by quote, and you operate the deployment.

Switch from Keeper if you need to host the vault yourself, in Germany or elsewhere, and have the staff to run it.

Psono, #1 of 12 in our password manager ranking →

Enpass

India · One-off licence or per month, published

Enpass is a password manager sold as a one-off licence or by subscription according to our category data, but its site refused our requests in this session, so we confirm neither its business pricing nor where vaults are stored. Verify both on the vendor site before treating it as a Keeper replacement.

Switch from Keeper if you prefer a one-off purchase to a per-seat subscription and have checked its business terms.

Idira Workforce Password Management (formerly CyberArk)

United States · Quoted per organisation; part of a wider platform

Idira Workforce Password Management is now presented by Palo Alto Networks under its identity security line, and the old CyberArk page redirects there. It offers a cloud or self-hosted vault, breach monitoring, password rotation and audit trails. Sales is by demo or contact form, and no price or trial is shown.

Switch from Keeper if you are already buying identity security from Palo Alto Networks and need governance.

When Keeper is still the right choice

Keeper remains the right choice when the vault is one part of a security programme. It states SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 certification and a FedRAMP High environment on AWS GovCloud, and it adds secrets, privileged access and reporting products under the same vendor. If auditors ask for those attestations or you need those products, the lighter vaults cannot cover the gap.

05

What moving off Keeper involves

  1. 01

Export, then check what does not travel

Logins, notes and cards usually export to CSV, but attachments, shared-folder structure, records for secrets or privileged access and Keeper's family plan do not map to every tool. List what lives outside plain passwords before you pick a target, and keep the old vault in read-only mode until the first audit cycle passes.

  2. 02

    Rebuild sharing and administration

Shared team folders, delegated administration and enterprise roles belong to Keeper's own model. Recreate the folder tree and role structure in the new tool, then reconnect SSO and SCIM where the plan includes them. Several alternatives put those features on a higher tier, so price the tier you need, not the entry plan.

Questions about replacing Keeper

6 answers
What does Keeper cost for a business?

Keeper's business page lists Business Starter and Business per user, billed annually, without a visible figure in our fetch, and Enterprise is by quote. Add-ons such as BreachWatch, Secrets Manager and reporting are priced separately, so ask for a written quote that includes them.

Which Keeper alternative has the lowest published price?

Of the vendors whose pages we could read, Proton Pass Essentials at $1.99 per user per month and Bitwarden Teams at $4 per user per month are the lowest published business prices.

Proton requires three users. Several others, including Dashlane and LastPass, showed no figures in our fetch.

Is there a self-hosted alternative to Keeper?

Psono runs on your own servers, with an Apache 2.0 community server and a German vendor. Bitwarden lists self-hosting on its Enterprise plan, and Idira Workforce Password Management mentions a self-hosted vault option. Self-hosting moves updates and backups onto your own staff.

Which alternative suits a team of ten?

1Password's Teams Starter Pack is a flat $24.95 a month for up to ten members. Psono advertises all business features free up to ten users on its hosted option. Keeper's own Starter plan is aimed at five to ten users, so compare it against both.

Does Keeper still hold its certifications?

Keeper's security page states SOC 2 Type 2 for over ten years, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018, and FedRAMP High on AWS GovCloud.

These are vendor claims, so ask for the current reports under NDA. Check any alternative against the same list before you rely on it for an audit.

Is CyberArk's password manager still available?

The CyberArk workforce page now redirects to Palo Alto Networks, where it is called Idira Workforce Password Management. It is sold through demo requests and shows no price, so treat it as an enterprise purchase rather than a self-service one.
