Charities outside the United States leave Bloomerang for a database that reports on their own tax rules, or because the price climbs with the number of records held. Some want local hosting and a local supplier. Others find the product tidy but too narrow once volunteers, events and online giving have to sit in one place.
Short answer: Looking for a replacement for Bloomerang? Donorfy, Beacon and Procurios come first in our nonprofit CRM ranking. Challengers take places 1 to 3 here. Big brands follow in the order of our category ranking. Start with Donorfy if you are a small UK or Danish charity that wants a free start. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Nonprofit CRM in 2026, and each says where it differs from Bloomerang.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
Pricing: Per organisation per month by record count; starting price published ($125, billed annually); unlimited users
Established in: United States
Built for: Small teams where retention matters more than analytical depth
Not for: European charities needing Gift Aid or local receipting
01
Why buyers look past Bloomerang
01
Priced by records, not by team size
Bloomerang's pricing page says cost depends on the number of records you track, and it lists starting prices only: CRM from $125 a month, Volunteer from $119 and Fundraising from $40, all billed annually. The page shows no record tiers, so a charity with a long list of lapsed donors cannot see its own price without a quote.
02
Modules are bought separately
Fundraising, CRM and Volunteer are separate products on the pricing page, and Fundraising must be bundled with the CRM. Auctions and peer-to-peer are add-ons. A small team that wants forms, events and volunteers together ends up comparing three line items and a custom-quoted Giving Platform.
03
Built around American practice
The pages we read describe retention figures, wealth indicators and an AI assistant, and say nothing about Gift Aid, SEPA mandates or European receipt rules. The vendor's site and our category record both point to a US product, so a European charity should ask for a demo of its own tax workflow before signing.

Donorfy
United Kingdom · Published
Donorfy starts with a free Essentials tier for up to 250 constituents, then charges by constituent count with published prices. It reports for two tax regimes only, the United Kingdom and Denmark, and Gift Aid claims are part of the core workflow. The Access Group has owned it since November 2024. Segmentation stays deliberately plain.
Switch from Bloomerang if you are a small UK or Danish charity that wants a free start.
Beacon is a British database whose data model you reshape yourself, without a developer. Published prices begin at £37 a month and rise with contact count, with user caps per plan and the largest tier quoted. Gift Aid, fundraising pages and restricted funds are included in the product. The extension library is modest beside Salesforce-based rivals.
Switch from Bloomerang if you need Gift Aid and custom fields without a consultant.
Procurios is a Dutch supplier with hosting and support in the Netherlands. One model holds donors and members together, which helps bodies that are part charity, part association. A published calculator prices it by active contacts, users are unlimited, and a non-profit discount applies. Rollouts go through its consultants and its profile outside the Benelux is low.
Switch from Bloomerang if you run donors and memberships together and want Dutch hosting.
FundraisingBox charges 4% of each transaction plus payment fees and VAT, with no set-up or fixed monthly fee, and quotes large volumes separately. German tax receipts, SEPA mandates and local payment methods are built in, and hosting is in Germany. It began as a donation platform, so major-donor tracking and campaign analysis are thinner.
Switch from Bloomerang if you raise money mostly online from German-speaking donors.
CiviCRM is open source software that you can host on infrastructure of your choosing, or buy hosting and partner support for. Extensions cover Gift Aid, SEPA direct debit and memberships. Upgrades are real work and the screens ask more of a fundraiser than Bloomerang's do, so it needs an administrator or a partner.
Switch from Bloomerang if you want to own the server and have someone to run it.
DonorPerfect has decades of fundraising practice behind its reporting and the many ways a gift can be recorded. Pricing is per organisation per month from $99 shown, with plans quoted, and online forms and payment processing come with every plan. It files Gift Aid claims with HMRC and handles Canadian receipts. Expect a database feel and some training.
Switch from Bloomerang if your giving structures are complicated and you want deep reports.
Neon CRM puts donations, events, memberships and online forms under one vendor, priced by record count in published tiers. That removes several integrations for a mid-sized charity. The parts came from different products and still show it, and payment processing leans towards Neon's own service, whose rates are worth setting against your bank's.
Switch from Bloomerang if you want events and memberships in the same system as gifts.
Little Green Light is priced per organisation by constituent count from $45 a month, with 10% off when prepaid for a year and a 30-day trial, so the whole team can log in. It is not sold in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, which rules it out for most readers here. Reporting is adequate and the interface has aged.
Switch from Bloomerang if you are outside Europe and want the cheapest published price.
Access Charity CRM, formerly ThankQ, serves larger charities, membership bodies and universities, with renewals and alumni relations next to fundraising and Gift Aid. Pricing is quoted per organisation. Access acquired ThankQ in 2012 and Donorfy in 2024, so module integration is uneven and renewals bring proposals for adjacent modules.
Switch from Bloomerang if you are a large UK body needing membership and alumni records.
Salesforce donates ten Nonprofit Cloud licences through Power of Us, and extra users cost from $70 per user a month billed annually. The cost arrives later as implementation partners, paid applications for Gift Aid or SEPA, and an administrator. For a large charity with complex programmes it does things nothing else here does.
Switch from Bloomerang if you run complex programmes and can staff a Salesforce administrator.
Raiser's Edge NXT is quoted per organisation on an annual contract and is the most expensive option listed. It remains the deepest for major gifts, prospect research and the reporting of a large development office, backed by a consultant network. Exporting data at the end has been difficult, and Blackbaud's 2020 breach is a fair procurement question.
Switch from Bloomerang if a large development office runs on major gifts and prospect research.
Donorfy: The free Essentials plan covers up to 250 constituents, and it reports for the United Kingdom and Denmark.
02
You want to reshape the data model yourself
Beacon: Published prices start at £37 a month and fields can be changed without a developer.
03
You raise donations online in German-speaking countries
FundraisingBox: It charges 4% per transaction with no fixed monthly fee, and hosting is in Germany.
04
You want to host the donor database yourself
CiviCRM: It is open source, with extensions for Gift Aid and SEPA direct debit, and needs an administrator.
05
You run donors and members in one record set
Procurios: Pricing comes from a calculator by active contacts, users are unlimited, and hosting is in the Netherlands.
04
When Bloomerang is still the right choice
Bloomerang stays the right choice for an American charity with a part-time fundraiser or volunteers doing the data entry. Unlimited users are included, the interface is arranged around keeping donors, and the vendor offers onboarding, data conversion and phone, email and chat support. Its pages say data can be exported at any time. If your tax rules are American, little here needs replacing.
05
What moving off Bloomerang involves
01
Check what the export carries
Bloomerang says you can export your data at any time. Ask for a full export of constituents, gifts, notes and interactions before you commit, and test whether engagement history survives import into a tool that scores supporters differently.
02
Rebuild forms and recurring gifts
Donation forms, recurring gift schedules and card tokens live with the payment processor, not only in the database. Plan the switch of recurring donors with your new vendor so no one is charged twice or missed, and tell donors before the first new collection.
03
Re-learn the reports
Retention figures and engagement levels are Bloomerang's own constructs. Decide which two or three measures you actually use, and build them again in the new system before the old one is switched off.
