A team that tracks work elsewhere gets none of that, and what is left is a Git host competing on its own merits against products with larger ecosystems and more generous free plans.

Outside the Atlassian ecosystem, Bitbucket's pull request interface and marketplace feel thinner than GitHub's. Migrating a large history out of Bitbucket is more work than moving it in. Run the transfer on your biggest repository first, check that branches, tags and review history arrive as expected, and schedule the remaining repositories on that evidence.

The Jira links need a decision
Bitbucket's built-in tie to Jira ends when the code leaves the suite, but the link can be rebuilt. GitHub uses the GitHub for Atlassian app and GitLab its Jira development panel integration; both rely on work item keys in branch names and commit messages. If Jira is going too, decide whether the issue history is migrated or archived.

Convert one pipeline before promising a date
Automation built on Bitbucket's pipelines has to be recreated for the destination. GitHub and Gitea use Actions workflows; GitLab and Gitoro use GitLab-style CI. Convert one representative pipeline end to end and use the time it took to estimate the remainder.
