Photoroom vs Pixlr

Photoroom is made for product photos and meters its three yearly-billed plans by credits and monthly exports. Pixlr is a browser photo editor with generation added, sold in four tiers whose credits are shared between image, video and audio. Photoroom costs more at the entry point, while Pixlr's entry price is a few euros, but the two are aimed at different jobs.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

  2. 02

    Fit for catalogue work

Photoroom includes AI Backgrounds and AI fashion models in all paid plans and caps exports at 1,000, 3,000 and 10,000 a month. Pixlr lists generative fill, background removal and face swap, but its pages we read give no monthly export figure for a catalogue.

  3. 03

    Billing flexibility

Photoroom's paid plans show as billed yearly, with a free trial on Pro and Max. Pixlr is sold per month or per year, and yearly billing saves 20 percent. Subscription credits reset at renewal and are cleared on cancellation, and refunds are not processed once payment goes through.

  4. 04

    Heavy-use ceiling

Photoroom's Ultra is $82.50 per month billed yearly for 75,000 credits and 10,000 exports, with 4K only there. Pixlr's Ultra offers unlimited fast image generations, but under fair use, and the page says availability is not guaranteed. A stated cap beats a soft promise.
