Omnisend vs Klaviyo
Both are built around a store's orders and browsing, both bill on contacts held, and both are free up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Omnisend hands a small shop its cart, win-back and post-purchase flows ready-made and lists its plan prices. Klaviyo goes deeper on segmentation and revenue attribution, and prices paid plans by active profiles.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say about a product. How that works.
you run a small store, want the standard cart, browse and post-purchase flows live on the first day, and would sooner send email and SMS from one builder than craft segments.
your catalogue has real structure, you want to segment on product affinity and predicted lifetime value, and you need to see the revenue each message produced on a Shopify or WooCommerce store.

Where they differ
Omnisend 2 · Klaviyo 1 · open 2- 01
Time to the first working flow
Omnisend arrives with abandoned cart, browse abandonment, win-back and post-purchase flows already built and reasonably worded, so a small shop can have a useful automation running the same day. Klaviyo's setup assumes ecommerce data is in place and rewards a store that will build its own flows on top of it. For speed, Omnisend is ahead.
Edge: Omnisend
- 02
Segmentation once the catalogue grows
Klaviyo treats the list as an extension of the store: browse history, order value and product affinity are available in segmentation without a connector, and predicted lifetime value needs no data team. Omnisend's segmentation is the shallower of the two, and the gap shows once a catalogue has real structure and product affinity starts to matter.

What the contact bill buys
Both free plans stop at 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Omnisend lists Standard from $11.20 a month for up to 500 contacts and 6,000 emails, and Pro from $41.30 for up to 2,500 contacts with unlimited emails, both with three months paid upfront. Klaviyo prices paid plans by active profiles and moves an account up a tier automatically when the count exceeds the plan.

Proving which message earned the money
Klaviyo ties reporting to order data and attributes revenue to each message, and sells a Marketing Analytics add-on starting at $100 a month for up to 13,500 active profiles. Omnisend lists sales, campaign, automation and ordered-product reports on every plan, the free one included, and adds aggregate email and SMS comparison on paid plans. Depth favours Klaviyo; included reporting favours Omnisend.

Help when something breaks
Omnisend states that support is available around the clock to every customer on any plan, the free one included, and Pro accounts spending $400 a month or more get an account expert. Klaviyo's free plan comes with email support for the first 60 days only. For a small shop without an agency, Omnisend's support terms are the more generous.
Edge: Omnisend
When neither fits
If the list has no product catalogue behind it, both are the wrong purchase: each is built around orders and browsing and fits a shop and little else. A B2B team wanting lead scoring and CRM handoff is better served by ActiveCampaign, or by HubSpot Marketing Hub when the CRM is already HubSpot.
Omnisend or Klaviyo: questions
4 answersIs Omnisend cheaper than Klaviyo?
Omnisend lists Standard from $11.20 a month for up to 500 contacts when three months are paid upfront, and Pro from $41.30 for up to 2,500.
Klaviyo's paid price is set by active profiles in a calculator on its pricing page. Both are free to 250 contacts, so enter your own list size in each.
Can Omnisend or Klaviyo be used for a B2B list?
Neither is built for it. Omnisend is not designed for B2B lead scoring or CRM handoff, and Klaviyo becomes an expensive way to buy a data model you are not using once there is no store attached.
A list without a product catalogue belongs on a general-purpose platform.
When does a store outgrow Omnisend and move to Klaviyo?
The usual trigger is segmentation. When the catalogue has enough structure that you want to target on product affinity, order value or predicted lifetime value, Klaviyo holds that data natively. While the prebuilt cart, win-back and post-purchase flows cover what you send, Omnisend remains sufficient.
What do the free plans of Omnisend and Klaviyo include?
Both allow up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Omnisend's free plan adds 500 web push messages, prebuilt ecommerce workflows and sales reporting, with round-the-clock support.
Klaviyo's adds $5 of mobile messaging credit each month, with email support limited to the first 60 days.
