Vanta alternatives: 11 compliance management tools compared

Buyers looking past Vanta are usually a startup or mid-sized company with a first SOC 2 or ISO 27001 deadline, a quote they found heavy, or a renewal clause they did not read until it triggered. Some want the same evidence automation from another vendor. Others discover that what they need is an ISO document system, a privacy adviser or a risk-register tool, and move there instead.

Short answer: The first three alternatives to Vanta in our compliance management ranking are Drata, Secureframe and Sprinto. Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Choose Drata if you want the closest like-for-like rival and plan to add frameworks after SOC 2. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Compliance Management Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Vanta.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say about a product. How that works.

Vanta

#7 of 12 in our compliance management ranking

  • Pricing: Annual subscription, quoted; auto-renewing terms
  • Established in: United States
  • Built for: Companies selling to enterprises who value the recognised trust page
  • Not for: Buyers optimising on price for a single certification
01

Why buyers look past Vanta

  1. 01

The price is only visible after a demo

Vanta's pricing page lists four plans (Essentials, Plus, Professional, Enterprise) and no figure for any of them. It asks you to request a demo for personalised pricing. A finance lead cannot compare vendors on a spreadsheet until three sales calls have happened, and the tiers split features such as access management and the full questionnaire allowance across plans.

  2. 02

Renewal is automatic unless you give notice

Vanta's master subscription agreement says an order form without a stated term runs for one year, and that unless the order form says otherwise the subscription renews for successive one-year periods unless you give notice at least 30 days before the period ends. A company that finishes its audit and forgets the date pays for another year, so the calendar entry matters more than the contract talk.

  3. 03

    Four tiers for one framework

Essentials covers one framework. Questionnaire automation is capped per plan (25 a year on Plus, 144 on Professional), custom tests start on Professional, and security reviews are an add-on on lower tiers. Teams whose real need is a single ISO 27001 certificate or a privacy adviser can pay for a platform built for several programmes.

What each one does differently

Drata

United States · Annual subscription, quoted by framework and headcount

Drata also sells evidence automation and also hides its prices behind a sales contact, so the move is about product rather than cost. Its Foundation tier covers up to 50 FTEs and one framework from a short list, and Advanced unlocks any framework, custom tests and connections. Its integration count is only given as hundreds.

Switch from Vanta if you want the closest like-for-like rival and plan to add frameworks after SOC 2.

Drata, #8 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

Secureframe

United States · Annual subscription; entry plan published from $7,500 a year, higher tiers quoted

Secureframe publishes one number: its Fundamentals plan starts at $7,500 a year for a single framework, with the Complete plan quoted. It lists 300+ native integrations and a separate Defense edition for CMMC. Compared with Vanta, you get a visible entry price but still need a quote for multi-framework work.

Switch from Vanta if you want a published starting price and may need CMMC for US defence work.

Secureframe, #6 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

Sprinto

Not stated by the vendor · Annual subscription, quoted per company

Sprinto describes itself as an autonomous trust platform for compliance, risk and GRC. Its pricing and frameworks could not be read from its own site in this review, which blocks automated access, so we cannot say how it compares on cost, integration depth or auditor network. Request its quote beside Vanta's.

Switch from Vanta if you will collect a second quote and judge it yourself.

Sprinto, #5 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

Cyberday

Finland · Per organisation by employee band, published, from 3,200 EUR a year for under 20 employees; 14-day trial only

Cyberday prices by employee count and shows every band: 3,200 EUR a year for under 20 people, 4,500 for 20 to 49, 6,800 for 50 to 99, 13,500 for 200 to 499. All features and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, 25+ more) sit in every band. Tasks are pushed into Teams or Slack; it is a task and documentation system first.

Switch from Vanta if you are a European company that wants a fixed, published price and ISO 27001 or NIS2.

Cyberday, #1 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

Conformio

Croatia · Published tiers, monthly or annual, from 1,199 EUR a year; 14-day trial

Conformio, built by Advisera in Zagreb, is a guided ISO 27001 workflow with a risk register, a statement of applicability and over 40 documents. Starter costs 1,199 EUR a year for 3 users, Professional 1,999 EUR for 5. It collects no cloud evidence and covers one standard, not the SOC 2 route.

Switch from Vanta if the customer asks for an ISO 27001 certificate and you have no consultant budget.

Conformio, #2 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

ISMS.online

United Kingdom · Annual subscription per organisation, quoted

ISMS.online is run by Alliantist Ltd in Brighton and sells a management system, not a monitoring tool. Plans are bespoke and quoted. The pitch is a pre-built content set (it cites an 81% head start), a virtual coach and over 100 frameworks including SOC 2, NIS 2 and DORA, with a supply chain module as an extra.

Switch from Vanta if you want a document-led ISMS from a UK vendor with several standards under one roof.

ISMS.online, #4 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

DataGuard

Germany · Quoted; platform-only Base plan, Pro adds expert support, external DPO as an add-on

DataGuard is a Munich company that sells a Base platform plan and a Pro plan with expert support, and can be named your external DPO or information security officer. Standards include ISO 27001, TISAX, NIS2, GDPR and the EU AI Act. Every plan is a quote, and the advice is part of the price.

Switch from Vanta if you need TISAX or a named data protection officer alongside the software.

DataGuard, #9 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

LogicGate Risk Cloud

United States · Quoted; per Application plus Power User licences, other users included

LogicGate Risk Cloud is a no-code builder with 30+ pre-made Applications, sold as Applications plus Power User licences, not by framework. It runs enterprise risk, third-party risk and controls programmes, not a startup's SOC 2 sprint. Someone has to own the configuration, and the bill is built from add-ons.

Switch from Vanta if you run a risk team that has outgrown spreadsheets and wants to design its own workflows.

LogicGate Risk Cloud, #10 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

Optro (formerly AuditBoard)

United States · Annual subscription, quoted per organisation

Optro, formerly AuditBoard, markets itself as a GRC intelligence platform with agents across audit, risk and compliance. It is aimed at enterprise audit and risk functions, with a demo-led sale. A company with no internal audit department would pay for modules it never opens.

Switch from Vanta if an internal audit team runs your testing and you want risk and compliance on the same data.

Optro (formerly AuditBoard), #12 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

GAN Integrity

Denmark · Annual platform subscription, quoted per organisation

GAN Integrity manages the ethics side: third-party due diligence, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, donations, speak-up cases. It has offices in Copenhagen and New York and states SOC 2 Type II for itself. It will not collect AWS evidence for your auditor, so it answers a different question to Vanta.

Switch from Vanta if anti-bribery, supply chain law or a speak-up channel drives the purchase, not SOC 2.

GAN Integrity, #3 of 12 in our compliance management ranking →

Ideagen

United Kingdom · Quoted per organisation; several product lines

Ideagen targets regulated sectors, naming food and beverage, healthcare, aviation, aerospace and defence, manufacturing, government and audit firms. The work is quality, audit and document control rather than cloud configuration checks. Pricing is by enquiry, and the lines sold under one name differ by industry.

Switch from Vanta if your obligation is a sector standard such as aviation or food safety, not a SaaS security report.

04

When Vanta is still the right choice

Stay with Vanta if the audit is close and the integrations already work: moving mid-audit means re-mapping controls and re-collecting evidence, and your auditor knows its exports. It also fits when a sales team uses the trust centre to answer questionnaires, when you expect to add frameworks such as ISO 42001 or HIPAA (it lists 35+), or when you want its auditor and partner directories. The price should be compared, but the notice date is the lever, not the contract.

05

What moving off Vanta involves

  1. 01

Time the move to the notice window

Check the order form for the service period and the 30-day notice requirement in Vanta's agreement before you start a trial elsewhere. Request the new vendor's quote with the renewal date in mind, so you can sign the new contract at the point the old one ends and not pay for an overlap.

  2. 02

Export evidence and policies before you leave

Policies, risk registers and the list of controls are yours to document, but check what your account lets you export and in which format. Ask the new vendor how it imports policies and how it maps existing tests to its own controls, and keep your auditor informed: a change of tool within an audit period needs their view.

Questions about replacing Vanta

6 answers
Does Vanta publish its prices?

No. Its pricing page names Essentials, Plus, Professional and Enterprise and asks you to request a demo for personalised pricing. We found no figure on that page as of 29 October 2026.

Does Vanta renew automatically?

Under its master subscription agreement, an order form's subscription renews for successive one-year periods unless you give written notice at least 30 days before the period ends, unless the order form says otherwise. Check your own order form.

Which alternatives publish a price?

Cyberday publishes a price for each employee band, from 3,200 EUR a year for under 20 employees. Conformio publishes 1,199 EUR a year for Starter. Secureframe publishes a starting figure of $7,500 a year for Fundamentals. Drata, DataGuard, ISMS.online, LogicGate and Optro quote.

Which ones are European?

Cyberday (Finland), Conformio (Croatia), DataGuard (Germany), ISMS.online (UK) and GAN Integrity, which lists a Copenhagen office beside New York. Vanta, Drata and Secureframe describe US offerings on their sites.

Can I get SOC 2 without Vanta?

Yes. Drata and Secureframe both automate SOC 2 evidence, and ISMS.online lists SOC 2 among its frameworks. Whichever you choose, the report itself comes from an independent auditor, who you may need to engage separately.

Is a document tool enough for ISO 27001?

Conformio and ISMS.online are built for it and supply documents and a risk register. They do not pull configuration data from your cloud accounts, so a technical evidence gap remains for any framework that expects it.
