Pingdom vs Uptrends
Uptrends prints its prices and Pingdom, on the page we captured, does not. Uptrends lists Core from $42 a month and Pro from $60 on annual billing, while Pingdom shows 'Starting at EUR /mo' with the amount blank for both its Synthetic and Real User Monitoring ladders. Pingdom's country field says United States and it is presented as SolarWinds Pingdom, whereas Uptrends is branded ITRS Uptrends with offices in the Netherlands and Germany. Both skip a free plan and offer a trial, so the real contest is price transparency, plan limits and how each sizes monitoring.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
you want uptime checks and pageview-based Real User Monitoring from one vendor, and you are happy to ask for an amount before buying. You should also value public status pages included in all plans.
you want to read a dollar price first and choose checkpoints by city. You also need ticket support at Core, or live chat at Pro, to be enough.

Where they differ
Pingdom 1 · Uptrends 4 · open 1- 01
Starting at EUR, then a blank
Pingdom's pricing page shows 'Starting at EUR /mo' for Synthetic Monitoring and again for Real User Monitoring, with the figure missing from the captured page, and Enterprise reads Request Quote. Uptrends prints Core from $42 a month and Pro from $60 on annual billing, or $46 and $66 monthly, and Enterprise is custom. A buyer comparing budgets before any sales call can finish the sum only for Uptrends, which makes it the clear winner on this point.

Ladders sized by checks against credits
Pingdom sizes Synthetic Monitoring in 22 tiers, starting at 10 uptime checks with 1 advanced check and 50 SMS, rising to 30,000, 2,500 and 1,500, and RUM in 21 pageview tiers from 100,000 to 1 billion. Uptrends meters by credits instead: an uptime check uses 6, a browser check 50, a transaction step 50 and an API step 15. Pingdom reads as plain counts. Uptrends is harder to forecast, since the pages we read show no monitor total per plan.
Edge: Pingdom
- 03
Trial terms and the lack of a free plan
Neither vendor lists a permanent free plan. Pingdom shows a START FREE TRIAL button covering Synthetics and RUM, but the page states neither the trial length nor whether a card is required. Uptrends offers a 30-day trial with full Enterprise access and no credit card, and lets you switch to any plan during it. Because Uptrends spells out the length, access level and card requirement, a cautious evaluator knows exactly what they are agreeing to.
Edge: Uptrends
- 04
Checkpoints, frequency and the Core limits
Uptrends Core checks uptime every 2 minutes from US and EU checkpoint regions, Pro every 1 minute from 230 plus checkpoints selected by city, and Enterprise every 30 seconds. Pingdom says it monitors from over 100 servers worldwide and runs a second check on every incident before alerting. Uptrends gives more frequency detail but fences Core to two regions. Pingdom's pages give fewer figures on check frequency or regions, so this round goes to Uptrends on detail.
Edge: Uptrends
- 05
Alerts, status pages and retention
Pingdom alerts by SMS, email or webhook, can delay an alert up to 1 hour and resend up to 4 times, and says public status pages are included in all plans. It keeps RUM data for 13 months. Uptrends gives Core 10 public status pages and 180 days of retention, Pro unlimited pages and 365 days, and Enterprise 730 days. Pingdom's all-plan status pages are simple, while Uptrends has a longer retention ladder; we call it level.

SolarWinds, ITRS and the missing addresses
Pingdom's homepage presents SolarWinds Pingdom and its footer reads 2026 SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC, with no address on the pages read, though our data file gives the United States as its country. Uptrends reads Discover ITRS Uptrends on its home page, and its contact page lists offices in Alphen aan den Rijn (Netherlands) and Erkrath (Germany). Its imprint page returned an error. Uptrends gives a reader two concrete office locations, while Pingdom gives only a corporate footer, so Uptrends wins on traceability.
Edge: Uptrends
When neither fits
If you want monitors defined in code or a free tier to start with, neither is ideal. Uptime Kuma is a self-hosted option, and Better Stack suits teams that want a simpler hosted setup.
Pingdom or Uptrends: questions
3 answersWhy can't I see Pingdom's monthly price?
On the pricing page we captured, both ladders read 'Starting at EUR /mo' with the amount missing. Enterprise is Request Quote only. You would need to confirm figures with Pingdom directly.
Does Uptrends charge per monitor?
Not exactly. Usage runs on credits, where an uptime check uses 6 and a browser check 50. The pages we read give no monitor count per plan, so test with your own mix during the 30-day trial.
Does either tool offer a plan that costs nothing?
No permanent free plan appears on either pricing page. Both offer a trial, and Uptrends states 30 days with no credit card.
