Dashlane vs LastPass

Dashlane's business pages are built around credential risk, with a higher tier that adds phishing detection and response. LastPass has a free plan and a ladder of Teams, Business and Business Max tiers split by users, policies and SSO apps. We could not read amounts for either on the pages we saw, so this comparison is about structure, not price.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.

Where they differ

Dashlane 2 · LastPass 2 · open 0
  1. 01

    Plan structure

Dashlane has Password Management, Credential Protection and a custom Enterprise package. LastPass has Teams for up to 50 users, Business with unlimited users and 100+ policies, Business Max with unlimited SSO apps, and a sales-led Enterprise. LastPass offers more rungs for a growing company.

    Edge: LastPass

  2. 02

    Security tooling

Dashlane's Credential Protection adds risk detection and response, browser phishing detection and integration with existing security tools. The LastPass tiers we read differ by users, policies, reporting and SSO app count. For an IT team that wants to see exposure fall, Dashlane lists more.

    Edge: Dashlane

  3. 03

    Free and trial access

LastPass lists a Free plan with unlimited password storage on one device type, plus 14-day business trials. Dashlane lists a 14-day trial for Password Management only and no free business plan. LastPass is easier to try at every level except Plus.

    Edge: LastPass

  4. 04

    Published amounts and past incidents

Neither page text gave us a usable amount: Dashlane shows no number, and the LastPass figures were template placeholders. LastPass also carries the 2022 breach that exposed encrypted vaults and unencrypted URLs. Dashlane has no such entry in our data.

    Edge: Dashlane

03

When neither fits

If you want open-source or self-hosting options, look at Bitwarden. If privacy and a European base matter more than enterprise features, Proton Pass is the other one to read.
