Teams leave Pitch when the free plan stops being enough, when clients insist on editable PowerPoint files, or when a per-seat bill for a deck editor looks high next to tools they already own. Others want a different kind of slide: interactive, code-driven or audience-led. The ten options below range from desktop software with no licence fee to browser editors with their own pricing ladders.
Short answer: The first three places are kept for challengers when the category has enough of them; the best-known brands come after that, in ranked order. For Pitch users, the top three picks from our presentation software ranking are LibreOffice Impress, Slidev and Genially. Pick LibreOffice Impress if you want slides on your own machine with no vendor account. Each of the 10 alternatives sits in Best Presentation Software in 2026 and is described against Pitch.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
Pricing: Free for up to five members; Plus EUR 10, Team EUR 15 and Business EUR 20 per seat per month when paid yearly
Established in: Germany
Built for: Small teams building shared decks who want a real free starting point
Not for: Teams that must deliver editable PowerPoint files from day one
01
Why buyers look past Pitch
01
The free plan caps what you can hand over
Pitch's free plan covers one to five members with unlimited presentations, but PDF exports and embeds carry Pitch branding, images are limited to 5 MB each and video uploads and custom fonts are absent. Plus, at 10 euros per seat per month paid yearly, removes the branding and adds fonts, video and 500 AI credits a month.
02
Seat prices step up with the team
Plus costs 10 euros, Team 15 and Business 20 per seat per month when paid yearly. Team stops at 25 members and Business at 200, and the pricing page ties version history to the tier: none on Free and Plus, 30 days on Team, unlimited on Business. A growing team therefore changes plan, not just seat count.
03
Single sign-on and hosting detail sit higher up
SAML single sign-on and SCIM provisioning are listed under Enterprise, which is priced on contact. Pitch's security page names AWS data centres and a SOC 2 Type I report, and asks you to email for the documents. It does not name a region on that page, so a buyer with residency rules has to ask.

LibreOffice Impress
Germany · Published
Impress ships inside LibreOffice, which The Document Foundation releases under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. You install it on a computer, pay no licence fee and need no account. The trade is that nothing is hosted for you: shared editing, template libraries and engagement analytics would come from whatever storage and tools your organisation already runs.
Switch from Pitch if you want slides on your own machine with no vendor account.
Slidev builds slides from a Markdown file and ships under the MIT licence. Anthony Fu's project suits people who already work in a code editor with Node installed. Its documentation says PDF, PPTX, PNG or Markdown exports exist but interactive features may be missing from them, so the hosted web version is the real deck.
Switch from Pitch if your slides are mostly code and you keep them in version control.
Genially, from Spain, treats a slide as a small interactive page with clickable zones, quizzes and animation. Our category record says the free plan imports PowerPoint, PDF and Google Slides files and that downloads sit on paid tiers. Its pricing page returned a not-found error to our check, so the exact tiers are unconfirmed.
Switch from Pitch if viewers should click through your deck rather than read it linearly.
Mentimeter, a Swedish company, centres on the audience: polls, quizzes, word clouds and Q&A. Its Free plan allows 50 participants a month; Basic adds unlimited participants, import of PowerPoint, Keynote or PDF files and results export to Excel or PDF. Pro adds shared workspaces and co-creation. Think of it as a live layer over slides you already have.
Switch from Pitch if your problem is audience participation, not slide layout.
Decktopus generates slides from a prompt and meters the work in AI credits, 750 a month on Pro. Pro is shown at 9.99 dollars a month billed yearly, 19.99 billed every three months and 24.99 monthly, with PDF, PPT and PNG export. The page we read names a practice mode called Loop but no free plan.
Switch from Pitch if you want a cheap single-seat generator and will pay by the year.
Visme sells one editor for presentations, documents, infographics and charts. Its comparison table shows the lower plans downloading JPG, PNG and PDF, while PPTX, HTML5, video and GIF come with higher ones, and PowerPoint import on the entry plan stops at ten slides. A US company, it fits marketing teams more than a pure slide workflow.
Switch from Pitch if the same team also needs infographics and visual reports.
Beautiful.ai reflows slide content automatically through more than 300 Smart Slide layouts, and the page states every seat includes PowerPoint import and export. Pro is 14.50 dollars a month billed annually; teams of two to twenty pay 40 dollars per user per month billed annually. A 14-day trial is offered. Enterprise is quoted.
Switch from Pitch if tidy auto-layout and clean PPTX hand-over justify a higher seat price.
Zoho Show is a browser editor with a free plan for individuals that lists real-time collaboration, offline mode, password-protected export and files up to 500 MB. It reads PPT, PPTX, ODP and several other formats. The Professional plan for teams starts at 1 TB of shared storage and adds team folders, with a 15-day trial offered.
Switch from Pitch if you want a no-cost personal editor that can grow into a Zoho team plan.
Apple's support page describes Keynote on Mac, iPad and iPhone, plus Keynote for iCloud for editing and collaborating in a browser on a Mac or Windows computer. An Apple Creator Studio subscription is optional. The editor is tied to Apple accounts, so a team of mixed devices depends on the browser version.
Switch from Pitch if your designers already own Apple hardware and want no seat fee.
Google Slides is the editor attached to a Google account and to Workspace plans. Google's product page promotes collaboration inside the same suite as Docs and Meet, and our category record notes PowerPoint import and offline use. Design controls are plain next to Pitch, but a team already on Workspace adds no new vendor.
Switch from Pitch if you already live in Google Workspace and want nothing else to administer.
You want presentations on your own computer with no account
LibreOffice Impress: LibreOffice is released under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and Impress is installed as software, with no hosted editor to sign into.
02
You hand editable PowerPoint files to clients
Beautiful.ai: The pricing page says every seat includes PowerPoint import and export, from 14.50 dollars a month for Pro billed annually.
03
You write slides in Markdown and keep them in git
Slidev: It is MIT-licensed, built on Markdown, and exports to PDF, PPTX or PNG, though interactive parts may be lost in the export.
04
You mainly need polls and questions from the audience
Mentimeter: The free plan allows 50 participants a month, and Basic adds unlimited participants and import of PowerPoint, Keynote or PDF files.
05
Your team already uses Apple devices
Keynote: Apple describes Keynote on Mac, iPad and iPhone, with Keynote for iCloud for browser editing on a Mac or Windows computer.
04
When Pitch is still the right choice
Pitch is a good fit when a small team wants a shared workspace with custom templates, brand fonts and tracked sharing links in one place, and when decks mostly stay as links rather than files. The free plan lets up to five people test unlimited presentations before paying. If your only complaint is branding on exports or missing fonts, compare Plus at 10 euros per seat first, since it removes both without a team plan.
05
What moving off Pitch involves
01
Check what a PPTX export keeps
Pitch's plan cards list PowerPoint export on paid plans. Export a few real decks, including those with custom fonts, video and embeds, and open them in the target tool. Fonts you uploaded to Pitch must be installed or replaced on the new side, and interactive embeds will not travel.
02
Links, guests and analytics do not follow
Shared links, pitch rooms and engagement analytics live inside Pitch. Tell recipients who hold live links before you close a workspace, and save any view and time-on-slide figures you still need. Guests invited to edit will need new invitations in the destination.

Questions about replacing Pitch
6 answers
What does Pitch cost?
Pitch lists Free at nothing for one to five members, then Plus at 10 euros, Team at 15 euros and Business at 20 euros per seat per month when paid yearly.
Enterprise is quoted. Monthly billing costs more, so read the live page for the figure you would pay.
Is Pitch European?
The footer names Pitch Software GmbH, and our category record lists Germany. The security page says infrastructure runs in AWS data centres but does not name a region, so confirm data location with Pitch before you rely on it.
Which alternative can open and export PowerPoint files?
Beautiful.ai states PowerPoint import and export on every seat. Visme exports PPTX on higher plans, Zoho Show reads PPTX and exports to PPTX, PPSX, ODP and PDF per our category record, and Slidev exports PPTX as images. Test one complex deck in each.
Is there a free alternative to Pitch?
LibreOffice Impress and Slidev carry no licence fee. Zoho Show and Genially offer free plans, and Mentimeter's free plan allows 50 participants a month. Keynote is a free app on Apple devices. Each free route removes something different, so list what you need first.
Can I leave Pitch and keep my brand fonts?
Custom fonts are a paid Pitch feature, so you probably hold the font files already. Install them on the new machines or upload them where the new tool allows it. Browser editors may substitute fonts silently, so check an exported file.
Which option suits live audience polls?
Mentimeter, because polls, quizzes and Q&A are its core. It imports PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF files on Basic and above, so you can keep a deck made elsewhere and add questions on top.
