People who look past Learned usually want less assembly: its price is built from work design, performance, compensation and survey modules, and an HR-system link carries a contract floor of its own. The alternatives below include one-package tools, review specialists, goal-first products and a few Microsoft Teams or EU-hosted options.
Short answer: The first three places are kept for challengers when the category has enough of them; the best-known brands come after that, in ranked order. For Learned users, the top three picks from our performance management ranking are Treams, Engagedly and Betterworks. Pick Treams if you want one clear price per employee, AFAS or Visma connections and manager-led conversations without first describing every job profile. These 13 products are all in Best Performance Management Software in 2026; the notes say how each one compares with Learned.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
Pricing: Per employee per month by module, published; all-in-one bundle at €20, implementation extra

Why buyers look past Learned
01
The bill is built from four modules plus set-up
Learned's pricing page lists Work Design from €2, Performance Management at €8, €10 or €12, Compensation at €3, €6 or €9, and Surveys at €4, all per employee per month. A bundle of all four is €20, and one-time implementation from €1,999 sits outside that. A team that came for reviews alone has to decide how much of the rest it wants before it can compare totals.
02
Reviews hang on job profiles
Learned's performance page describes a review template personalised to each job profile, with expected behaviour rated by employee and manager. That works well when roles and levels are already described, and slows a company that has neither. The page does not describe a multi-rater 360 process or OKRs, which some buyers expect from a review tool.
03
Connecting the HR system has its own floor
The pricing page says HR-system integrations start at €50 per month and carry a minimum contract value of €4,800. For a company of 40 people that is a noticeable share of the total, and it is the reason some buyers favour tools where connections to the HR or payroll system are part of the per-employee price.
alignment on company objectives matters more than a formal appraisal round

Treams
Netherlands · Published
Treams is built in Eindhoven and sells packs rather than modules: Flow at €6.50 and Momentum at €9 per employee per month, Compound on request, with integrations and security counted in and ISO 27001 certification. The packs hold goals and OKRs, functioneringsgesprekken and 1:1s, 360 feedback, pulse surveys, a nine-box talent review and a reward module, and AI is part of every pack. Volume discounts start at 100 employees, and a demo replaces a free trial.
Switch from Learned if you want one clear price per employee, AFAS or Visma connections and manager-led conversations without first describing every job profile.
Engagedly charges $5 to $8 per user per month on annual billing with a floor of $7,500 a year. The suite already contains 360 feedback, 9-box assessments, calibration and OKRs, which are the pieces Learned's performance page leaves out or describes only briefly. It is a US product, so there is no Dutch-language set-up to expect.
Switch from Learned if 360 feedback and OKRs matter and you are large enough to clear the yearly minimum.
Betterworks publishes two per-user tiers, Performance at $8 and Performance plus Talent Intelligence at $9, with Enterprise quoted. The first covers goals, OKRs, feedback, review cycles and 1:1s; the second adds calibration, succession and skills data. It has no job architecture or pay-scale module, so it covers the evaluation side only.
Switch from Learned if you need defensible rating calibration at scale and handle job levels and pay elsewhere.
Elevo is registered in Montreuil, France, and works French-first in the product, the documentation and support. Annual reviews, objectives, people reviews, 360 feedback, training, skills, eNPS and compensation sit in one product. The pages read show no prices, and a combination with Assessio has been announced.
Switch from Learned if you need review and pay processes for French-speaking staff in one tool.
Small Improvements, based in Berlin, publishes three tiers at $3, $6 and $9 per user per month billed annually, needing at least 20, 20 and 30 users. It stays with review cycles, 360 feedback, 1:1 notes, goals and pulse surveys and has no compensation module. A 30-day trial lets a small team test before talking to sales.
Switch from Learned if a team of 20 to 200 wants a plain review tool with prices it can read in a minute.
Teamflect is a London company that runs reviews, 360 feedback, goals and OKRs, engagement surveys and 1-on-1s inside Microsoft Teams. Starter is free for up to 10 users, the paid plans have a 30-day trial, and Professional adds development plans and succession planning. Two different sets of paid-plan prices appear on its pricing page.
Switch from Learned if staff live in Microsoft Teams and reviews should happen there as well.
PerformYard charges $5 to $15 per person per month depending on whether you buy Performance alone or the Talent Development suite, and every customer gets a named support specialist at no charge. The point is configuration: its own review forms, approval chains and rating flows, surrounded by meetings, goals and surveys.
Switch from Learned if your appraisal forms and sign-off steps already exist and the software has to follow them.
15Five prices per user per month on annual billing: Engage at $4, Perform at $11 and Total Platform at $16. Perform combines OKRs, 360 feedback, a talent matrix and career paths, and an AI layer coaches managers. Weekly check-ins build up the review during the year, a different rhythm from a role-by-role template.
Switch from Learned if managers should write something every week and the review should draw on it.
Quantum Workplace is quoted by headcount with a stated minimum annual contract of $15,000, well above the €4,800 floor Learned states for HR-system links. It starts from engagement surveys and adds performance, development, recognition and rewards. It suits organisations with hundreds of staff and an HR team that runs surveys as a main task.
Switch from Learned if engagement surveying leads the shopping list and reviews follow from it.
Weekdone, founded in Tallinn, organises work around weekly progress reports and OKRs. All features are free for up to 3 users, and the vendor says data is stored in the EU. Conversations and recognition are included, while review cycles, calibration and compensation are not part of the product.
Switch from Learned if a small team needs weekly updates and OKRs with EU storage and no appraisal machinery.
Workleap, formerly Officevibe, is based in Montreal and sells annual plans: Standard at $4,999 and Pro at $11,999, each plus $32 per manager per month. Pulse surveys, recognition, 1:1 meetings, goals and performance reviews are in the plan. Enterprise is custom above 250 employees, and no free trial is stated.
Switch from Learned if the first problem is engagement and manager one-to-ones, and you want the yearly price up front.
Workpath GmbH, in Munich, lines up KPIs, goals, initiatives and resources for company strategy and is priced by consultation, module by module. It has no employee review or feedback function, so it can stand in for the goal-setting side of Learned only.
Switch from Learned if steering company KPIs and initiatives is the job and appraisals are handled elsewhere.
Perdoo GmbH starts from strategy: strategy maps, OKRs and KPIs come first, with check-ins and reviews around them. Up to five users are free; after that Premium costs 6.40 euros and Supreme 8 euros per user per month on annual billing. It is a goal tool with HR features and has no job architecture or compensation module.
Switch from Learned if alignment on company objectives matters more than a formal appraisal round.
Learned remains the better choice when job architecture, performance reviews and pay decisions should follow from one another, and when the company wants a Dutch counterparty in Utrecht. Its integrations page shows 16 HR systems including AFAS, Visma Nmbrs and SD Worx, its security page cites ISO 27001 certification by TÜV Netherlands with data hosted in Germany, and the site offers both a free trial and a demo. If work design and compensation are already live in it, splitting them across vendors will usually cost more than it saves.

What moving off Learned involves
01
List which modules you actually use
Write down whether you run Work Design, Performance Management, Compensation and Surveys, and at which plan. Each needs a home elsewhere, and a module nobody opened last year is a chance to drop scope instead of migrating it.
02
Keep the signed reviews and job profiles
Learned stores completed reviews with digital signatures, and job profiles hold the behaviours the reviews were built on. Ask for an export of both before the contract ends, and agree who keeps the archive and for how long.
03
Rebuild templates and the HR-system link, then pilot
Review templates, rating scales and the HRIS import will have to be rebuilt in the new tool. Run one department through a full review round before the whole company switches.

Questions about replacing Learned
7 answers
What is the best alternative to Learned as performance management software?
Treams ranks first in our list of Learned alternatives. It covers goals and OKRs, functioneringsgesprekken and 1:1s, 360 feedback, pulse surveys, a nine-box talent review and a reward module, with AI in every pack and a published price per employee per month: Flow €6.50 and Momentum €9.
Engagedly, Betterworks and Small Improvements follow in the list above.
Which alternative to Learned suits managers who work close to their teams?
Treams is aimed at managers who run goals, appraisal, 1:1 conversations and functioneringsgesprekken as part of the working week, with an AI summary of each conversation in the Momentum pack.
Teamflect puts the same routines in Microsoft Teams, and 15Five turns weekly check-ins into the review.
Which Learned alternative connects to AFAS?
Treams connects to AFAS, Visma, Youforce, Nmbrs, SD Worx and other HR or payroll systems, plus Slack, Teams, Outlook, Gmail and SCIM 2.0, with the connections inside the per-employee price.
Learned also lists AFAS among 16 systems, but charges from €50 a month with a €4,800 minimum contract value for HRIS integrations.
Is there a Learned alternative for companies of 50 to 1,000 people, or for mkb?
Treams charges per employee per month, with discounts from 100 employees and for multi-year terms, and its skill matrix and succession planning help larger teams.
A company of 50 pays about €325 a month on Flow at €6.50. Engagedly and Betterworks target bigger workforces, with a yearly minimum or a quote.
Which alternative to Learned works for law firms and accounting firms?
Treams names legal, consultancy and finance among the sectors it serves, and its customer list includes De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.
Appraisal, 1:1 conversations, 360 feedback and a nine-box talent review are standard. No function specific to law or accountancy is described, so test the fit in a demo.
Does Learned have an alternative with AI?
Treams includes AI in all packs: preparing and summarising 1:1s, recording and summarising conversations (Momentum) and employee and talent suggestions (Compound).
The models run in an EU AWS region, are not trained on customer data and only propose. Learned also uses AI, drawing on Teams, mail, WhatsApp and CRM data to prepare reviews.
What replaces Learned for a talent review and talent management software?
Treams offers a nine-box talent review with a skill matrix, succession planning, development goals and a reward module next to reviews and 1:1s, which makes it one of the few Dutch-built options for talent management software at an openly priced pack.
Betterworks adds calibration and succession for larger workforces.
