Jamf Pro alternatives: 13 mobile device management tools compared

Jamf Pro is the reference point for Apple management, so people leave it for practical reasons rather than for lack of depth. Some find a Mac-and-iPhone fleet too small to justify an administrator who scripts, some need Windows or Android managed in the same console, and some want a smaller bill. The destinations split between cheaper Apple specialists and broader cross-platform consoles.

Short answer: The first three alternatives to Jamf Pro in our mobile device management ranking are Mosyle, Iru (formerly Kandji) and Microsoft Intune. Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Choose Mosyle if you run a Mac and iPhone fleet of a few hundred devices at most and want Apple depth at a fraction of the price. All 13 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Mobile Device Management Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Jamf Pro.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this site; it never changes what we say about a product. How that works.

Jamf Pro

#8 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking

  • Pricing: Jamf for Mac $12.50 and Jamf for Mobile $5.75 per device per month (billed annually, 25-device minimum); Jamf Now from $4 per device per month; 14-day trial
  • Established in: United States
  • Built for: A large Mac estate with a dedicated Apple administrator
  • Not for: A twenty-person company with a handful of MacBooks

Why buyers look past Jamf Pro

  1. 01

A tool built for an Apple administrator

Our data lists Jamf Pro as the wrong fit for a twenty-person company with a handful of MacBooks. It hands you primitives and expects you to assemble policy from them. That suits a dedicated Apple administrator and wastes the time of a generalist who wants enrolment, a few restrictions and an update schedule working by Friday.

  2. 02

Price lists have appeared around it

We previously recorded Jamf Pro as quoted by sales only. Jamf's own pricing page now shows Jamf for Mac at $12.50 per macOS device per month and Jamf for Mobile at $5.75, both billed annually with a 25-device minimum, and Jamf Now from $4. Rivals publish lower figures, so buyers who can finally compare tend to do so.

  3. 03

A fleet that is no longer only Apple

Jamf's product pages are written around Apple first, with Android covered in the mobile bundle. A company that adds Windows laptops, rugged Android scanners or a Linux estate ends up running a second console beside Jamf. At that point a single cross-platform product starts to look cheaper than two.

What each one does differently

Mosyle

United States · Free up to 30 devices; Business Premium $1 per device per month, billed annually, 30-licence minimum

Mosyle stays Apple-only, like Jamf, but is priced for small fleets: a free plan up to 30 devices, then Business Premium at $1.00 per device per month, billed annually with a 30-licence minimum. Apple coverage is strong for the price. It offers no Windows or Android management, and its scripting community is smaller.

Switch from Jamf Pro if you run a Mac and iPhone fleet of a few hundred devices at most and want Apple depth at a fraction of the price.

Mosyle, #5 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Iru (formerly Kandji)

United States · Quoted on modules, users and devices; 14-day trial

Iru, formerly Kandji, keeps the Apple focus but ships prebuilt controls and remediation instead of asking you to script them, and its site now lists Mac, Windows, iPhone and iPad, Linux, Android, Apple TV and Vision Pro. Licensing is modular and quoted, so there is still no list price to compare.

Switch from Jamf Pro if you want Apple management that a generalist can run without writing scripts, and can accept a quoted price.

Iru (formerly Kandji), #9 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Microsoft Intune

United States · Per user per month, published; included in some Microsoft 365 plans

Intune covers Android, iOS/iPadOS, Linux, macOS, tvOS, visionOS and Windows from a service that runs entirely in the cloud, and it is included in Microsoft 365 E3 and E5. Our data shows Apple support trailing Jamf on new releases. It wins on Windows, Entra integration and the absence of a separate licence.

Switch from Jamf Pro if you already pay for Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 and Windows machines outnumber Macs.

Microsoft Intune, #7 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Hexnode UEM

United States · Per device per month, published from $2.20 to $4.70 for three of four tiers; Ultra quoted; 15-device minimum

Hexnode treats Apple as one platform among Windows, Android, Linux, ChromeOS and others. Plans run from Pro MDM at $2.20 to Ultimate UEM at $4.70 per device per month, with the top Ultra tier quoted and a 15-device start. Apple features are spread across tiers rather than concentrated as in Jamf.

Switch from Jamf Pro if a mixed fleet needs one console and a price you can read before talking to sales.

Hexnode UEM, #4 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Scalefusion

India · Per device per month, published from $2 to $5, billed annually

Scalefusion publishes three UEM tiers, with Starter at $2 and Business at $5 per device per month on annual billing, plus fixed-price security add-ons. Its strength is Android, kiosk mode and rugged OEM integrations. Apple is supported through Apple Business Manager, but macOS policy depth is not its centre.

Switch from Jamf Pro if Android handhelds and kiosks make up as much of the fleet as Apple devices.

Scalefusion, #6 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Applivery

Spain · Per device per month, published

Applivery is a Spanish company selling pay-as-you-go device management for Apple, Android and Windows, with a separate product for distributing your own apps and builds. A 14-day trial covers all features. It is a smaller vendor than Jamf, and its reporting at large fleet sizes is thinner.

Switch from Jamf Pro if you ship in-house apps to staff devices and want an EU-established vendor.

Applivery, #3 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Cortado MDM

Germany · Per plan, price on request; 14-day free trial

Cortado MDM is run by Cortado Mobile Solutions GmbH in Berlin and hosted in Germany, managing Apple and Android devices from one console. Prices are not published. Its remit is company phones and tablets, so it is narrower than Jamf for Mac fleets and has little for Windows laptops.

Switch from Jamf Pro if German hosting for company iPhones and Android phones matters more than Mac scripting depth.

Cortado MDM, #2 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Relution

Germany · Free 14-day test for up to five devices; paid plans price on request, cloud or on-premise

Relution GmbH in Stuttgart offers its MDM as shared cloud, dedicated server or on-premises on Linux Docker, and gives education, public bodies and NGOs special conditions. Since 16 October 2026 the free tier is a 14-day test of up to five devices. App catalogue and reporting are thinner than Jamf's.

Switch from Jamf Pro if a school or public body needs to host device management on its own infrastructure in Germany.

Relution, #1 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

Omnissa Workspace ONE

United States · Per device or per user per month, published: Mobile Essentials $3 per device or $5.40 per user, Desktop Essentials $4 per device or $7.20 per user

Omnissa Workspace ONE sits at the enterprise end, with per-device and per-user prices published: Mobile Essentials at $3.00 per device or $5.40 per user per month, Desktop Essentials at $4.00 or $7.20. It ties into virtual desktops, which Jamf does not. Our data says it needs a partner or a dedicated team.

Switch from Jamf Pro if you manage thousands of devices across several operating systems and also run virtual desktops.

Omnissa Workspace ONE, #13 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

IBM MaaS360

United States · Per device per month, published at $4.24, $5.30 and $6.63 across tiers; enterprise discounts quoted

IBM publishes MaaS360 prices on its product page: Essentials from $4.24, Deluxe from $5.30 and Premier from $6.63 per client device per month, with 30% off for purchases on ibm.com until 31 October 2026. Our data places Apple feature support behind Jamf. The console carries years of accumulated features.

Switch from Jamf Pro if a security-led team wants a published per-device budget across mixed platforms.

IBM MaaS360, #12 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

42Gears SureMDM

India · Per device per month, published

42Gears SureMDM lists Android, iOS/iPadOS, Windows, Linux, Wear OS, ChromeOS, macOS and VR headsets, states no minimum quantity, and carries ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. Companion products such as SureLock turn ordinary devices into kiosks. It is an unusual-hardware tool, not an Apple specialist.

Switch from Jamf Pro if scanners, wearables and kiosks outnumber MacBooks in the estate.

42Gears SureMDM, #11 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

SOTI MobiControl

Canada · Quoted per organisation

SOTI MobiControl covers Android, Apple iOS, iPadOS and macOS, Linux and Windows, with lockdown and kiosk modes for frontline devices. Pricing is quoted per organisation and usually reached through a partner. It is far heavier than a standard office fleet needs, and Apple depth is not why people buy it.

Switch from Jamf Pro if device downtime in depots, shops or field work costs real money and the estate is mostly rugged Android.

SOTI MobiControl, #14 of 14 in our mobile device management ranking →

baramundi Management Suite

Germany · Per endpoint, perpetual or subscription, quoted

baramundi software GmbH sells a management suite whose core bundles IT automation, mobile device management, patching and inventory, with add-ons for licences, remote access and endpoint security. It is client management first, usually run on your own servers, and mobile is the junior half. Pricing is quoted.

Switch from Jamf Pro if Windows client management and patching on your own servers is the main job and phones are secondary.

04

When Jamf Pro is still the right choice

Jamf Pro stays the right choice when the fleet is mostly Apple, large enough to employ an administrator who scripts, and the team wants new Apple controls early. At several hundred Macs the primitives become an advantage, and the surrounding community and training make the skills easy to hire. If the pricing page now fits your device count, there is little reason to rebuild what already works.

05

What moving off Jamf Pro involves

  1. 01

Re-enrol rather than migrate in place

Apple devices managed by one MDM cannot simply be handed to another. Plan for devices to be released from Jamf and enrolled again, ideally through Apple Business Manager so that supervised status is kept. Pilot with a small group first and decide how users will back up local data.

  2. 02

Scripts and extension attributes do not travel

The scripts, smart groups and policies built up in Jamf Pro are written to its own model. Inventory what each one achieves, then rebuild the useful ones in the new tool's native controls. Prebuilt-control products reduce the work but also reduce how far you can bend them.

Questions about replacing Jamf Pro

6 answers
What is the cheapest Jamf alternative for Macs?

Mosyle is the usual answer. Its free plan covers up to 30 devices and paid Business Premium is listed at $1.00 per device per month, billed annually with a 30-licence minimum.

Jamf's own entry point for small fleets, Jamf Now, starts at $4 per device per month for organisations under 25 employees.

Does Jamf publish its prices now?

Partly. The pricing page lists Jamf for Mac at $12.50 per device per month and Jamf for Mobile at $5.75, billed annually with a 25-device minimum. Local-currency figures and anything beyond those bundles still need a quote from Jamf or a reseller.

Which Jamf alternative manages Windows as well as Apple devices?

Microsoft Intune, Hexnode, Iru, Applivery, SureMDM, Omnissa Workspace ONE and SOTI MobiControl all list Windows alongside Apple. Intune is the obvious candidate for Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 customers, while Hexnode and Scalefusion publish prices.

Which alternatives are hosted in Europe?

Cortado MDM states hosting in Germany, Relution is a Stuttgart company with cloud and on-premises options, Applivery is a Spanish S.L., and baramundi is a German GmbH. Confirm the hosting region for your plan in writing before signing.

Can I replace Jamf Pro with Microsoft Intune?

Intune manages macOS, iOS and iPadOS as well as Windows and sits inside many Microsoft 365 licences. Our data shows Apple support trailing Jamf on new releases, so check which Apple controls you rely on first. Some Mac-heavy companies run both.

What happens to Kandji?

Kandji is now called Iru. The company's site lists endpoint, identity and compliance products under that name, and licensing is modular and quoted. Treat any older comparison that says Kandji as describing the same vendor.
