Cloudbeds vs Mews
Cloudbeds and Mews are both full property management systems that include a channel manager, so this is a choice of platform, not of a connection. Neither shows a price: Cloudbeds quotes by plan and Mews bills per room after a pricing request. Cloudbeds states a Delaware corporation with a San Diego address, while Mews names Mews Systems B.V., a Dutch company in Amsterdam. Mews puts its emphasis on an open API and a large marketplace, Cloudbeds on one supplier for the front desk, channels and booking engine.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
you run a hostel or a small independent property and want the front desk, channels and booking engine from one supplier. You are fine with a United States corporation and a quote per plan.
you are rebuilding a hotel stack and care about an open API, a marketplace of 1,000+ integrations and a Dutch contracting entity. You accept that payments, POS and bookable spaces cost extra.

Where the channel manager enters the plan ladder
At Cloudbeds the ladder runs Flex, One, Experience and Enterprise. Flex covers PMS, payments and marketplace, and the Cloudbeds Channel Manager and Booking Engine arrive with One. At Mews the plans are Pro, Core and Enterprise, and the channel manager is described as included in every plan. A property that wants distribution from day one on the cheapest tier gets that at Mews. At Cloudbeds it needs a step up.

No price on either page
Neither pricing page prints a figure. Every Cloudbeds plan says request a quote or contact sales, and its revenue and marketing add-ons are listed without prices. Mews shows Get pricing for Pro and Core and talk to sales for Enterprise, and its FAQ says billing is per room, with indicative figures for a 10-room property but none given. A buyer must ask both, so there is nothing to separate them on cost.
Depends on the buyer

Extras that sit outside the subscription
Mews states that payment processing is charged separately from the subscription, and that POS and bookable services such as Spaces are paid add-ons. Cloudbeds lists Revenue Management, Guest Marketing CRM, Digital Marketing, Websites and Reputation Management as add-ons without prices, and the Experience plan adds Guest Experience and Reputation Management. Both widen the final bill beyond the first quote, and Mews is the more explicit about payment fees.

Openness and integrations
Mews advertises an open API and 1,000+ marketplace integrations, with a channel network of 400 channels. Cloudbeds lists a marketplace under the Flex plan, but its pricing page shows no integration count and no API claim. Moving to either platform also moves the inventory, so connection count matters. On the numbers the vendors publish, Mews makes the stronger case.

Who contracts with you
Cloudbeds' privacy policy names Digital Arbitrage, Inc. d/b/a Cloudbeds, a corporation formed under Delaware law, with a mailing address in San Diego. Its pricing page calls Cloudbeds an independent hospitality software developer with no parent named. Mews' privacy policy names Mews Systems B.V., a Dutch company in Amsterdam, and Mews Systems Limited in London as co-controller for website data. For a European buyer, the Dutch entity is the closer fit.

Trial and the fit for dorm-style stays
Neither pricing page mentions a free plan or a free trial; Mews offers Book a demo and Get pricing. Cloudbeds' own fit notes say hostels with dorm beds are handled better than in most hotel systems, and that leaving later means a full migration since inventory sits inside the platform. Mews is described as the better route for mid-market hotels replacing an old system. Match the property type first.

When neither fits
If you already have a property management system you like and only need distribution, SiteMinder is the better place to look, since it is what powers the Mews channel manager. Octorate is another standalone option in this category. Neither Cloudbeds nor Mews is a light answer to a pure synchronisation problem.
Cloudbeds or Mews: questions
3 answersDoes the Mews channel manager come from Mews itself?
The Mews fit notes describe it as powered by SiteMinder and included in every plan. The pricing page also mentions a 400-channel distribution network. Nothing there explains how the two companies split the work.
Is a hostel better served by Cloudbeds or by Mews?
Cloudbeds' own notes say hostels with dorm beds are handled better there than in most hotel systems. The Mews says nothing about dorm inventory on the pricing page. A hostel should ask both vendors for a demo of its own room setup.
Which of the two is the Dutch company?
Mews. Its privacy policy names Mews Systems B.V., a Dutch company at an Amsterdam address, as the contracting entity. Cloudbeds is a Delaware corporation with a San Diego mailing address.
