PractiTest alternatives: 11 test management tools compared
Teams look beyond PractiTest when the Team plan stops covering what an audit or a security review asks for, since SAML sign-on and SCIM sit on the quoted Corporate plan, which starts at 10 licences on yearly billing. Others want a smaller price step, a self-hosted option, or a vendor whose data stays in Europe by default. The tools below answer those cases one by one.
Short answer: TestMonitor, Testiny and Testmo head the list of PractiTest alternatives drawn from our test management software ranking. Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. TestMonitor is the one to try if you want European hosting as the only option and a bug tracker included. These 11 products are all in Best Test Management Software in 2026; the notes say how each one compares with PractiTest.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
Pricing: Per user per month on Team, quoted for Corporate; trial
Established in: Israel
Built for: Mid-size and larger QA organisations needing traceability and a regional data centre choice
Not for: Small teams that want SSO and audit logging without a minimum licence count
01
Why buyers look past PractiTest
01
The jump from Team to Corporate
PractiTest lists Team at 47 dollars per user per month, with a 10-tester pack shown at 5,640 dollars for 12 months. Corporate has no listed price, requires at least 10 licences and bills yearly only. Our reading of the comparison table puts SAML 2.0 single sign-on and SCIM there, so a security requirement can turn a price list into a sales call.
02
Cloud only, three AWS regions
The vendor's security page says PractiTest is a SaaS platform and was always SaaS only, hosted in AWS data centres in the US, EU and AU regions. A team that must run test records on its own servers, or on infrastructure it picks itself, has to look at tools that ship a container or an on-premises edition.
03
Seats and commenters are counted separately
Team gives each licence 5 comment users and Corporate gives 10. Stakeholders who only read results or leave remarks are therefore bounded by the licence count, and extra full seats raise the bill linearly. Tools that charge by concurrent use, flat tier or collaborator seat change that arithmetic for large review groups.
Utrecht-based TestMonitor keeps all customer data on servers in Europe, which removes the region question that PractiTest leaves to the login menu. Prices are published per user in dollars or euros, there is a 14-day trial without a card, and an issue tracker is built in. Starter stops at 3 users, and SAML sign-on starts at Enterprise.
Switch from PractiTest if you want European hosting as the only option and a bug tracker included.
Graz-built Testiny prices each plan per seat and shows the figures, with a permanent tier for three users and 1,000 test items in total. Single sign-on begins at Business, ahead of the top tier. Running Testiny Server on your own hardware is arranged through sales rather than checkout.
Switch from PractiTest if you want SSO below the top plan and a path to self-hosting later.
Testmo, from Leverkusen, sells flat monthly tiers with users bundled in: 5 on Team, 15 on Business, 25 on Enterprise. Seat arithmetic therefore stops mattering inside a tier. Exploratory sessions and automation results live next to manual cases. It is a cloud service only, and SSO, audit logs and enforced two-factor sign-in need the top tier.
Switch from PractiTest if a flat monthly tier suits you better than a price per head.
Kiwi TCMS comes from Sofia and ships as a container licensed GPLv2+ and AGPLv3+, so a QA group can run it on its own servers and keep the code whatever the vendor does. Paid support and hosting subscriptions are published, though the cheapest comes without technical support, and SaaS hosting begins at the Private Tenant tier.
Switch from PractiTest if your policy requires running test records on servers you control.
Cologne-based aqua cloud lists test management as one monthly licence and requirements management as another, so covering both needs both or the Suite. Guest users read for nothing. The licence names (full, runner, floating) deserve a careful read, floating pools are priced after a conversation, and single sign-on is shown only under the Suite.
Switch from PractiTest if requirements traceability and tests should sit in one German vendor's suite.
Testpad turns a test into one line of text, indents it for structure and adds a column per run, so a plan looks like a checklist rather than a stack of forms. British-made, it is priced by tester count in steps of 3, 10, 15 and 25 after a 30-day trial. Its own advice is that stable regression checks end up in automation.
Switch from PractiTest if manual and exploratory testing is the bulk of your work.
QA Touch is a DCKAP initiative whose permanent tier covers 3 projects and 100 test cases, with paid plans per user at the lowest rates in this group. AI test-case generation is limited to 10 uses on Startup and 20 on Professional. Single sign-on and multi-factor sign-in wait for the top plan. The vendor does not state a country.
Switch from PractiTest if the lowest per-seat price in the list is the deciding factor.
Qase offers a permanent tier for up to four users and two projects, then a per-user Teams plan where collaborator seats cost less for people who only follow runs. That targets the commenter problem directly. AI actions use monthly credits that do not roll over, and its terms make fees non-refundable during a committed term.
Switch from PractiTest if many colleagues only watch runs and should not need full seats.
Inflectra's SpiraTest charges per concurrent user, so a large group sharing a few simultaneous logins pays less than it would for named seats, and every plan includes unlimited named users, projects and storage. It runs in the cloud or on premises, and the Jira data-sync plugin is free. The price table starts at 3 concurrent users.
Switch from PractiTest if many people log in occasionally and you want to pay by concurrency.
TestRail publishes three per-user tiers and offers an on-premises edition on the upper two, which covers the hosting gap that PractiTest leaves. Essentials caps at five users, so growth pushes you to Professional fast. SSO, multi-factor sign-in and audit logs wait for Enterprise, and API request limits rise by tier, a point for automation-heavy pipelines.
Switch from PractiTest if you want an on-premises edition from an established test tool.
Katalon TestOps records manual and automated results together and adds an AI runner that executes natural-language test cases. It is one of four products in the Katalon platform, which makes most sense where Katalon Studio is already in use. A trial needs no card, the product page shows no TestOps price, and Katalon-hosted private SaaS is the alternative to multi-tenant.
Switch from PractiTest if your automation already runs on Katalon Studio.
TestMonitor: All data sits on servers in Europe, prices are published, and the trial runs 14 days without a card.
02
You want the code and the server in your own hands
Kiwi TCMS: It ships as a container under GPLv2+ and AGPLv3+, with paid support and hosting subscriptions listed separately.
03
You would rather pay a flat tier than count seats
Testmo: Team includes 5 users, Business 15 and Enterprise 25, with exploratory sessions and automation results beside manual cases.
04
You have many occasional users and few simultaneous ones
SpiraTest: Pricing follows concurrent users, and every plan includes unlimited named users, projects and storage.
05
You need an on-premises edition from a known test tool
TestRail: On-premises is offered on the upper two of three published per-user tiers.
04
When PractiTest is still the right choice
PractiTest earns its place when a QA organisation wants one hosted system with unlimited projects, a long integration list and a choice of US, EU or AU data centre. Its integrations page names Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Jenkins and more, results can arrive over API, and the security page cites a yearly SOC 2 Type 2 audit and an ISO 27001 based management system. If your team already sits on Corporate and uses those links, moving costs more than it saves.
05
What moving off PractiTest involves
01
Requirements links and run history
Plain test cases are the simple part; the traceability between requirements, tests, runs and issues is the part that breaks. Export all four sets, decide which historic runs you must keep as evidence, and rebuild the Jira or Azure DevOps links in the new tool before the cutover.
02
Automation feeds need rewiring
PractiTest receives automation results through its API or FireCracker, with Selenium, Playwright and Jenkins listed. Each CI job that posts there needs a new endpoint and token. Run the old and new tool side by side for one release cycle so you can compare results.

Questions about replacing PractiTest
6 answers
How much does PractiTest cost?
The pricing page shows Team at 47 dollars per user per month, with a 10-tester pack at 5,640 dollars for 12 months on yearly billing. Corporate is quoted, needs at least 10 licences and bills yearly only. Prices change, so check the live page.
Does PractiTest offer a free trial?
The pricing page offers a free trial on Team, though it does not state the length. Corporate is reached through Contact Sales. Several alternatives here publish their trial terms: TestMonitor gives 14 days without a card and Testpad 30 days.
Where does PractiTest store data?
Its security page says the service runs in AWS data centres in the US, EU and AU regions, and the login menu lists the three separately.
The vendor says the platform is SaaS only. Ask which region your account was created in before you rely on it for GDPR.
Which alternative lets me self-host?
Kiwi TCMS runs as a container you operate yourself. TestRail offers an on-premises edition on its upper two tiers, SpiraTest runs on premises as well as in the cloud, and Testiny arranges Testiny Server through sales.
Is there a cheaper permanent tier than PractiTest?
Testiny has a permanent tier for three users capped at 1,000 test items, QA Touch for 3 projects and 100 test cases, and Qase for up to four users and two projects. Limits differ, so compare them with your suite size.
Which tool charges by concurrent users?
SpiraTest prices per concurrent user and includes unlimited named users, projects and storage. aqua cloud mentions floating and concurrent pools, but prices them only after a conversation.
