Teams look past Bubble for three reasons: the application cannot be exported as code, the bill follows a workload meter, and EU hosting is reserved for the Enterprise plan. The alternatives below are mostly internal-tool and business-application platforms, including Dutch, German and Polish vendors and several open source options.
Short answer: Baserow, Ninox and Betty Blocks head the list of Bubble alternatives drawn from our low-code platform ranking. The first three places are kept for challengers when the category has enough of them; the best-known brands come after that, in ranked order. Baserow is the one to try if what you really need is a shared structured database with forms, hosted in the EU. These 11 products are all in Best Low-Code Platform in 2026; the notes say how each one compares with Bubble.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. How that works.
Pricing: Free plan for building; paid plans per month with workload units and editor seats, published
Established in: United States
Built for: Founders building a customer-facing product without a development team
Not for: Anything a company must be able to take elsewhere later

Why buyers look past Bubble
01
Your logic stays inside Bubble
The data export page describes CSV, JSON and NDJSON exports of database records, delivered by email link, and says nothing about exporting workflows, pages or code. Whatever you build in the editor therefore remains in Bubble, and leaving later means rebuilding the logic elsewhere.
02
Workload units cap what each plan includes
Bubble's pricing page gives Free 50K workload units a month, Starter 175K, Growth 250K and Team 500K. Overages can be paid as used or bought as tiers, but the rates are not on the page we read. A heavy page or a busy scheduled job therefore moves the bill in a way a per-seat tool would not.
03
Region choice and SSO sit on Enterprise
The security page says servers and data are on the AWS West Region for every plan except Enterprise Dedicated, where the region can be picked. The pricing page also lists choice of hosting location, SSO and a SOC 2 report under Enterprise only. A company with a European data policy has to talk to sales first.
the application must last a decade and run under heavy load, and a quoted price is acceptable

Baserow
Netherlands · Published
Baserow is a Dutch company whose tables, forms and views sit behind a REST API. Cloud hosting is in Germany, and the open source edition runs on your own machines. It now has an application builder and automations too, though thinner than Bubble's visual editor, so anything with branching workflow may need another tool beside it.
Switch from Bubble if what you really need is a shared structured database with forms, hosted in the EU.
Ninox, from Germany, builds relational database applications with tables, forms and a small scripting language of its own. A free plan covers up to 5 users, Team and Business are priced per user per month, and hosting is in Germany. Large tables slow it down, and complicated builds are hard for anyone but their author to read.
Switch from Bubble if the project is a back-office database for a small German or Dutch firm, not a public product.
Betty Blocks, a Dutch platform, targets business users who build under IT supervision. Roles, SSO and audit logging come with it, and plans are a flat monthly fee from EUR 1,500 with unlimited users and builders. Each plan holds a fixed bundle of applications, and onboarding costs EUR 7,500 on the lower plans.
Switch from Bubble if IT wants governance over what business staff build and prefers a flat fee over workload meters.
Budibase, from the United Kingdom, is open source and can be self-hosted against your own Postgres or MySQL database. Applications export as files, which answers the lock-in question directly. Cloud plans start at $19 a month plus $5 per end user. It is meant for internal tools, and its interface library is plain.
Switch from Bubble if you want internal screens over your own database and a way to take the files with you.
Appsmith, an open source tool from India, puts JavaScript inside its widgets and stores applications in a Git repository, so review and rollback work as they do for other code. It can be self-hosted from a Docker image. A free cloud plan covers 5 users; Business is $15 per user per month, counting every workspace member.
Switch from Bubble if a developer will build the app and wants Git history and a self-hosted option.
WEBCON, based in Krakow, is a process automation platform for approvals, HR flows and document-heavy work. Its InstantChange technology alters a live process without redeploying or breaking running instances. Licences are per user in three tiers plus a server licence, with SaaS, private cloud or on-premises deployment; no figures are published.
Switch from Bubble if the real job is approvals and document workflows, with SaaS or on-premises choice.
Thinkwise, from Apeldoorn, generates data model, business logic and interface together from one shared model. Its Upcycler pulls structures and data out of a legacy ERP, WMS or similar system, which suits a multi-year replacement. No pricing is published, and it is too heavy for a small departmental app.
Switch from Bubble if the target is replacing a legacy business system, not launching a startup product.
Zoho Creator generates mobile applications as well as web ones, and shares data and login with the rest of the Zoho suite. A free edition covers one app, per-user prices are published, and it is bundled in Zoho One. Its scripting language, Deluge, is not used anywhere else, which ties staff skills to the platform.
Switch from Bubble if your company already runs on Zoho and the missing piece is an internal app.
Retool connects to almost any database or API and offers a self-hosted deployment for regulated environments. A free plan covers up to 5 users, with published per-builder and per-internal-user prices. Workflow runs form a second meter, sold in packs, so automation-heavy use raises the bill in a way seat counts do not predict.
Switch from Bubble if engineers need admin screens quickly over existing databases and APIs.
Mendix, a Dutch platform owned by Siemens, versions its models with branches and merges and can deploy to your own Kubernetes cluster. There is a free plan; Standard costs from EUR 918 a month for one app or EUR 2,295 for unlimited apps. Expect a development-platform learning curve and scarce certified developers.
Switch from Bubble if version control and deployment to your own cluster matter more than speed of first draft.
OutSystems is aimed at large replacements of ageing systems, with dependency analysis that shows what a change will break beforehand. Pricing is quoted per application and per user; a free Personal Edition exists for test apps only. A self-hosted option is sold as an add-on, and implementation usually runs through a partner.
Switch from Bubble if the application must last a decade and run under heavy load, and a quoted price is acceptable.
Baserow: Cloud hosting is in Germany, and a self-hosted open source edition is also available.

Budibase: Applications export as files, and the open source edition runs on your own Postgres or MySQL.
03
You need governance over what business staff build
Betty Blocks: Roles, SSO and audit logging come with it, on a flat fee from EUR 1,500 a month with unlimited users.
04
You want versioned models and your own Kubernetes cluster
Mendix: Models have branches and merges, and Standard starts at EUR 918 a month for one app.
05
Your engineers want Git history on internal tools
Appsmith: Applications live in a Git repository, and a free cloud plan covers up to 5 users.

When Bubble is still the right choice
Bubble remains the better choice when the goal is a web product that customers will log into. Paid plans include a custom domain, Starter is $32 a month billed annually, and the Free plan lets you build before paying; a paid plan is needed to put a live version online. Version control with branches arrives on Team, which lists 25 custom branches, and Bubble provides a GDPR data processing agreement and states SOC 2 Type II compliance. Most alternatives here are built for internal tools and will not replace its customer-facing templates and plugin market.
05
What moving off Bubble involves
01
Export the data first
Use Data, App data, pick each data type and export to CSV, JSON or NDJSON. Date intervals export as descriptive text but import as milliseconds, so check those fields before loading anything into a new tool.
02
Write down the workflows by hand
Nothing in the export covers workflows, pages or plugins. Document each backend workflow and each plugin in use, then decide which belong in the new platform and which to drop.
03
Run both systems side by side
Keep the Bubble plan live while a pilot group works in the new tool. Cancel only once reports, integrations and logins have been checked on real data.

Questions about replacing Bubble
6 answers
What is the best alternative to Bubble for internal business apps?
Baserow ranks first in our list of Bubble alternatives for teams that need structured data and forms in an EU-hosted, open source tool. Ninox, Betty Blocks and Budibase follow. None of them match Bubble for public customer-facing products.
Can I export my Bubble app as code?
The pages we read describe exporting database records as CSV, JSON or NDJSON, and mention no export of workflows, pages or code. Plan on rebuilding the logic in whatever tool you move to.
Which Bubble alternative can be self-hosted?
Budibase and Appsmith are open source and run on your own servers, and Baserow offers a self-hosted edition. Retool and Mendix also offer deployment to your own infrastructure, with Mendix targeting a Kubernetes cluster.
Is there a Bubble alternative hosted in Europe?
Baserow hosts in Germany and Ninox hosts in Germany. Betty Blocks and Mendix are Dutch, WEBCON is from Krakow and Thinkwise from Apeldoorn. Bubble itself offers a choice of hosting location only on Enterprise.
Which Bubble alternative has a flat price?
Betty Blocks charges a flat monthly fee from EUR 1,500 with unlimited users and builders, within a fixed bundle of applications. Bubble's plans instead include workload units, so usage affects cost.
How much does Bubble cost?
Bubble lists Free at $0, Starter at $32, Growth at $119 and Team at $349 a month billed annually, with Enterprise on request. Extra file storage is $3 per 100 GB a month, and overage rates were not shown on the page we read.
